### A cookie to whoever is lazy enough to count all the dots ;)

You know I was going to, but then I realized how many dots there actually were, so I gave up. Can I haz Cookie anyway? :)

It's all yours! Check my images ;)

'tis easy, it is just the fibonacci sequence up to the 20'th variable and back down again 3 times.
3 x 5 x 11 x 41 = 6765 since the nth term is 20
since n = 20 therefore
3x( 6765 x 2) = about 40590 dots

3 because of 3 sets of sequences
2 because of the Fibonacci sequence occurring "twice" as it goes up and down

aren't I a clever boy

TheTriangulum Apr 25 2012, 3:11pm replied:

Yikes this question caught me out because it does not go down to "20 and 1" three times.
The nth term = 20 in the first sequence therefore:
n=20
n2=19 (I am not timesing n here)
n3=18

18 : 2584 = 23 x 17 x 19
19 : 4181 = 37 x 113
20 : 6765 = 3 x 5 x 11 x 41

So 2584+4181+6765 = 13530 precisely

no need to count, just some knowledge of numerical sequences is all you need

TheTriangulum Apr 25 2012, 3:30pm says:

w..w...wait i made a mistake here.
