Good and disappointing at the same time, the Raccoon City Streets as pointless nothing resembling anything, so a bit of a let down. The RPD, again too much harsh brush work, nothing smooth about it and the only thing that I felt made this was the music. But keep going as I know this is blocking out etc so understand this is the start of a good demo.

How did you.get the floor blueprint on the ground that's a great way to support a sprawling game world.
you really need to just listen Ciirulean, or you will never move forward and the mod may die or not get the attention it deserves. This is very early stage mapping, it's the level of detail that is done to just block out a map before the main detail goes in, it really is not screenshot media worth. That being said keep going and keep learning.

Changes to scale and size of some rooms have already changed and this was a first draft plan of rooms to start developing game play flow, item location and other design aspects, this does not include a second building or the basement car park areas.

You are correct I am using the US version from the research station run by USA so will get that changed soon as I have made this a united kingdom station and programme is used.

although i have all the file they are all blank with nothing on them, i am using WinRAR to unpack it, and just comes up with an error on every item.
the harsh lighting looks good ingame and their is a reason for it too :)

The lighting and exposure looks a bit bright but the overal experience is great it's just how the screenshot is taken
Left hand side is a l4d drop not a brush based block but i avree with you on the other textures will check as to how they are aligned against the world i usually never stretch or compromise when it comes to detail.

wood texutre needs to be 90 degree changed as grade of wood goes length ways not in blocks as seen in the wood going across, it would just look more realistic

The glass notice will be a location header at the entrance to important external doors, it is one way so the reverse side will look backwards. Also the text is the same (on the WIP) as all of them until new location headers are created.

Looking at the way you level design I'm not surprised. Your VIS must be off the scale
for a Portal One mod yeah i totally agree, the Portal 1 and 2 style is very different and it is a little hectic. However i will say amazing use of colour
Its totally understandagble as creating a mod takes time and an aweful lot of work even on a very small scale, so good luck and I hope you blow us away with what you have in store !!!
Awesome light and use of HL 2 content
firstly they look too big and you should try to make the room fit a series of them.
Just think the bottom brick layer needs to come down so its that same height as a normal brick?
Dont blast me for this, but nothing exciting is coming from the new map, the wall textures don't really look asligned to the floor and their are no skerting board at the bottom and the ceiling tiles could be so much better aligned

The main floor area to the bottom of the screen will be done in due time, so apoligies for the lack of deatil, however I did want to give you an idea of scope of the planned area.
This is just a shell at the moment, but wanted to add it in as it's still part of the diner experience.
At the bottom middle is a placeholder for a Key Model (anyone want to design it, contact me)

The outside world is really rich, shame about some of the indoor areas seem a bit less exciting

All though i love the idea and well done for the thought, this is neither the engine (source) or the platform (half-life 2) to build that from. If yor having trouble with making a mod with the basics of half life 2 stock textures, props, scripted sequences and so forth your not going to be able to build this mega community idea thing, as no matter the idea to an extent you will be on your own until the idea flourishes or you have some amazing art work / concept stuff.
Not sure where that leaves you, but most community watchers have no idea how hard mod developing is especially on your own :(
more will be done in time, but didnt wanna put too much as it restricts the fighting space for the combine to cover and run and forward etc
all npc and battle related units have been removed :)

This is the new updated image from when people talked about the platform and rail. I have kept the rail due to the height needs to be perfect for the battle and works very well, but to make it a little better i took out the underneath rail and dropped the floor.
Sorry I have realised how bad this shot. This is an early work area and links the first staging fight area with the communications array, so more coming soon.

I think a very slight bit more lighting, just a very subtle bit would make it better, it feels pitch dark, but its totally awesome!

if the water vanishes it means you have a leak or brush error, the last picture seriously needs work on it, i advise not showing it again until a huge imporvement has been made.

its bound to have an effect, either on quality or the outcome of the mod, i am certain that one if not both the mods will die, shame.
you should really remove the weapon before taking screenshots, but this is brilliant so far

looks all ripped fropm ep1, nothing truely amazing or eye popping, no long city decimated streets, just the norm of the city from when you cmoe out of the udergound and then a pic of the left hand side of that, surely for a yeah and a halfs work, we can see something better than that??

seems like one big load of rubbish, sorry this is not origanal, its completely muddled up and confusing, your trying to add an new element to something you cant be bothered to change, and you cant just run alongside hl2 with a infestation zombie story. Try a total conversion!!!
I loved the FlashBack game, its feel, music, and story was incredible. But you do need to get the old game and get your research done. Dont wait for other people, try and get as much as you can into your forum, i really dont want to see this mod die cause i love the origanal concept and game.

Im a level designer, and have to ask the question why you have two level changes in such a small space, have you even mapped for half-life, or seen the size available for hl2 maps???? Please do something a little more impactful!

Mixed up story, bad buld (trying to throw a grenade ove boxes but if bouncing off thin air and killing you???), and some of the buildings were rubbish
Well you need a lot more detail about what makes you mod, what its about in full detail and you also need a 100 % spell check. One of the reasons for my comment was not only was it seriously badly worded, but it just seemed to jump from one thing to another nothing concrete or solid sounding. Come up with more strong details and your be home dry, also some media would really improve the mods position.
This sounds good, but you have a good storyline undercut by going back in to what everyone on this mod planet has done. The idea of perhaps the building of black mesa and it's secrets would be good, but all you do is a new location same idea type of mod, and if u havent notices, tons of them exist! However it still sounds good.
This is boring and shows nothing amazing, and those bubles look bad, show us something worth while please.
All the walls, supports and cliff edges look so bulky and unrealistic, and the texture on that main support, just left of the centre page is ugly.
