Good and disappointing at the same time, the Raccoon City Streets as pointless nothing resembling anything, so a bit of a let down. The RPD, again too much harsh brush work, nothing smooth about it and the only thing that I felt made this was the music. But keep going as I know this is blocking out etc so understand this is the start of a good demo.

How did you.get the floor blueprint on the ground that's a great way to support a sprawling game world.
you really need to just listen Ciirulean, or you will never move forward and the mod may die or not get the attention it deserves. This is very early stage mapping, it's the level of detail that is done to just block out a map before the main detail goes in, it really is not screenshot media worth. That being said keep going and keep learning.
it is free and purely to get our own uniqueness t the mod, as we dont have nay developers here for that side of the mod.

overall good with exception to some of the worst level design and environment design ever.
sadly parts feel like a mix of counter strike, NMRIN and Left 4 Dead, the locations are not as rich and vibrant as they looked in the concepts for me. And the gameplay looks fast which is what we have seen before.
i have done this but the extract says errors on files and then i get an error when i start it up saying Alchemilla_en/gameinfo.txt is invalid, can someone paste the contents of the document to me

It's not a city size map but a massive above and underground research facility, and the idea is to make it feel big without seeing the entire place as you will move locations in the story and then come back to it later in the mod,. It will be big and the idea is to feel like your in an environment, i need some textures of signage but should be good when you know where your going
all the vehicles look out of size of each other, i feel the fire engine should be a longer ladder one, but the car nearest to the camera is huge against the police car, or am I just looking at it wrong?
This is a very straight forward mod and feel you need to potentially drop it if you cant continue on your own.
The map in the video is a staging map and does not resemble Raccoon City or the quality expected
Perspective is a little off for each window segment, be better if that was longer creating a left middle right effect rather than per window.
Found the train station far too dark
Yeah I do know about game flow etc, but I also want a feeling of natural exploration, without too much for the player to think about. I found that with the Grey mod sometimes I got confused as to where I was meant to be going, but with Resident Evil and maps and so forth i'm hoping this wont be a problem.
As for visual and black / dark areas, this has been done for a reason, and in-game doesn't seem to be too big a problem, and still creates a feeling of alone and a natural environment feel as apposed to forced or same old scare tactics.
even with a ton of lights as long as the woerld is built right and you use no draw and etc etc the compile shouldnt take long under fast, even if you sacrifice HDR option too, still should be quick.
I totally agree, but i still think it looks great, and I haven't found a way to put them in without looking like that, eg, with mud mound or platform to stand on etc etc

Take a look at the latest uplaod and tell me if the brick work is better look than the other ???
I wanted a very modern feel to it and brick / wall surfaces are like that with the stone effect instead of raw brick etc.
As for the lamp post yes well spotted it was hoovering.
And the van side building was just put in to give a feel of real world geometry and make the building feel bigger, as you can see from my previous work i'm not finished, but felt this was still good to show the mod isn't dead or anything :)

yeah totally but i will work hard to make sure all outside areas are really protected against that clipping with indivual block fog, but to get the atmosphere I love walking around the small map to get that feel and that pushs me to do more

I agree your never be like Black mesa, but still need to show a level of detail and atmosphere beyond Half Life standards to which you haven't really got here. Don't get me wrong I think the potential is their, but with this mod.
True but it helps to always nodraw textures players can not see.
I totally agree in respect to the sign, but taking it out of that scene really dives the atmosphere, and you do find in RE2/3 that they do have some big signs in small places. So I am happy with it for now.

Yeah suprised how dull it looked with out cube mapping, but the building comes out nicely as well as (unlike in the previous screen shot) the police car.
its means somethings gone wrong and thingshave had to change because of it ???
after the video about the high quality room, this was a dissapointment
sitting on the platform is a flare, marker for the assault thats where its coming from
well spotted :( however light is still going to come through whatever space it can, so the effect should be the same. But will look in to changing it if more people agree with you.

Some really dodgy mapping, very large bland open spaces, and some odd animation sequences, but this looks really promising. Keep it up
i think the music needs to be dumped, its so ear hurting it wouldnt good feeling in the experience, unlike say portals sooothing background music your is close to wanting to die!

i think you could use a hint of red, but not change light for light, or perhaps have light pursting through the ceiling from something.

Ok i played your "DEMO" and my god, its seriously flawed, the most annouying first thing i have found is a very loud siren, playing everywhere, if you made it come from speakers that would be good, and instead of cutting the level with darkness makes it scary think again, and this place could be anywhere, i didnt understand what room was what and why, nothing was explain at all and i got bored of all the same lighting and textures.
If you want to progress you can give me a shout and i wouldnt mind helping you quickly. If you improve the level you will get lots of watchers and great feedback
any beginer of mapping could do that shot, its pointless and has not feel, no decals, no atmosphere, and using the flashlight all the time, wont make it a horror mod!
Depending on the unspecified depth a: the ocean wouldnt be blue it will be pitch black, and also like Varsity said its really bland with just one colour scheme, show us something where u have introduced different lighting colours in to a room?, some of your screens look identical and wevy hard to see?
all though this looks really good, i think you should add some more easy on the eyes lighting and shadows, as it looks really bland and dull as far as lighting goes
this was really boring, all the directions were tunnelled and the rooms and environments seem to be totally void of anything meaningful.
it looks good, but i keep thinking something looks wrong with the lighting, i cant put my fingure on why though?/

would look better with the new hl2 textures of cliffs, this isnt a true representation of the origanal, but still pretty good to look at!

thanks for the comment about the grass, i was going to use displacment and make is better, however this will be added later due to other mapping problems, and yes the texture in the bottom right does need changing, thank you :)

Yer CITY-17, looked promising but is now just an excuse, they are bad, everything doesnt work, and now i can't even get into the main homepage, id ask all mod developers looking to promotw their mod, to stay clear of this site, its bad news!!!!
I've seen some good and bad mods out their that try to reconstruct dark eirie places, or cool large areas, and this does not fail to use as much power of the Editor as possible from models to textures to the fabulous lighting effects.
I hope this mod goes all the way!
