No, I won't beat up Obama. No, I won't slap Susan Boyle. No, I don't want to watch your 12 second ad before I watch my favorite Machinima. Stop pestering me! No! Leave! GO! HELP!
That's what it's like on YouTube now. They've managed to stick in ads everywhere, to the point of lagging video. The worst of them is that Crap-Tarts ad where they made Mt. Rushmore eat Pop-Tarts. What? Worst part is, it takes forever for it to stop, and it still causes the video to load slowly. I mean, a total crawl. Maybe I should blame some of it on my DSL, but YouTube isn't helping.
Oh, and another thing--WMG. Are people too afraid to boycott it? They've blocked countless videos, including massively popular Machinimas such as Halo Music Video Hell 2, 101 Ways to Kill GMan, and others; oh, and did you know they blocked the audio on several of their own artist's YouTube sites? This makes me wonder why they can't just encrypt it and encrypt the encryption, then screw up the coding, preventing any downloading. Do they really think that this will bring down sales? Take a look at Death Cab for Cutie's YouTube page. I'll bet you they've either left it to rot or destroyed it completely.
Another excellent example is Bjork's page, bjorkdotcom. Every single song on that account is muted. Silence.
Personally, I think that the big companies have lost touch with the consumer, and are afraid of losing money to non-existant issues. Is a ripped, torrented series of MP3s from a CD as good and as high-quality as the actual product? No! It's the consumer that loses there.
WMG is begging, begging desperately for a massive boycott, and if they keep it up, they'll damn well get it.
The effects of said boycott will mean less money from the consumer going to the artists, which in turn will lead them to break off of WMG, causing an even greater loss of money. Soon, it will increase in magnitude until WMG either folds or declares bankruptcy. Either way, the consumer will win.
This is a clear example of corporate greed. Normally, kept in check, its not a problem, but when somebody lets them off the leash, they'll run rampant. I say that something be done about this.
Then again, what weight does one man's voice hold anymore?

Hey man, sorry I can't do much lately. College is swamping me with before-summer-break cramming :(
I'll hope to help you out in Summer break. Do you happen to use MSN messenger? We could communicate further and more efficiently that way :)
Dude, I'm a HUGE nerd on FF7. :O
I saw your mod, looks interesting! I always disliked the Japanese to American translations in alot of things, predominantly Hayao Miyazaki's movies. I didn't the the same problem presided with FF7. D:
Anyhoo, I've never tried using modding programs for FF7, but if it's just english and grammatical stuff you're in need of help for, I'll gladly help out.
