It was difficult, it was continuously delayed... but the interview is finally done.
Ransom Arceihn is the great FREDder who created many popular campaigns for FreeSpace 2 SCP, like Transcend. The interview may be posted here on ModDB as well, so stay tuned!

With the following, I'd like to inform the people who are paying attention that I intend to replay a number of FreeSpace campaigns and post my personal reviews here on MoDB.
The reviews will take many factors in consideration - as modder and mission designer, I will use my knowledge to analyze campaigns under many points of view. One of the main goals is to focus on campaigns which may have been overrated to see if they're really worth the attention they got. Quite accordingly, I will also try to revamp old campaigns which, in my opinion, are sadly fading out nowadays. Obviously, I will try to write the reviews in a respectful way.
The preliminary "to do" list includes:
Derelict SCP
Silent Threat: Reborn
Blue Planet: Age of Aquarius
The Procyon Insurgency
Fall of Epsilon Pegasi
Transcend
Sync
Inferno: Release 1
Work on Derelict SCP will start tomorrow, and the other campaigns will follow. Speaking of the rating system, it's very likely to use a handy 0/10 scale. The following factors will surely be taken into account while I'm a bit unsure about other parameters:
1) Plot
A review cannot exclude a good analysis of the plot. The way the plot develops throughout the campaign will have a deep influence on this factor. Characterization will also be analyzed.
2) FREDding
At first, the way the missions were designed may not seem a notable thing to consider. In my reviews, however, this aspect will have its relevance. For the ones who're not familiar with the term, "FREDding" stands for using FRED, FreeSpace's Mission Editor.
3) Originality
This parameter, which will be partially influenced by 1) and 2), will be used to determine wheter or not a campaign is original.
4) Eventual implementation of mods
If the campaign features mods, this parameter will be used to rate the relative quality of the mods and the way they're used.
5) Relative rating
Many campaigns were developed years ago, so this parameter will be used to add more variety to the final rating. It's quite possible that a campaign which hasn't worked in the past may be fully enjoyable now. Obviously, the exact contrary is also possible.

The FSCRP Team has been quite active lately and is simultaneously working on many campaigns.
Warzone v2.3.2 has been completed and is currently being tested, so it won't be long before the release of this significant upgrade. Thanks to Rodo, who created a missing ship nameplate, Warzone SCP's modpack is basically complete - only the campaign, in fact, may need additional changes.
Work has officially started on Black Horizon - Episode 1, an old FreeSpace 1 campaign which will be fully playable in FreeSpace 2 thanks to the FreeSpace Port. The first version of the upgrade should be ready for the FSCRP testers to check in a matter of days (or even less), and the formidable texturer freespaceking has volunteered to improve the creepy Black Horizon maps.
As soon as the first upgrade of BH Ep1 is done, the team will actively work on Episode 2.

You surely know about my previous work on Warzone 2.3.1 so I'm more than proud to announce that work on version 2.3.2 has finally started. The new version will follow Macfie and SF-Junky's hints, not to mention my own ideas to improve the final results even more. Version 2.3.2 should be easier to pack than its predecessor (most programs with the original Warzone have been solved and all much needed improvements have already been implemented), so I estimate that it will be done in a matter of days. Yeah, I know I claimed version 2.3.1 was pretty much definitive... but if I can make additional changes, what's the point in forcing myself to do nothing?

As posted here, Warzone v2.3.1 is now available for the rest of the FSCRP Team to test. I worked hard on Warzone in the past weeks, and I expect the results to be outstanding.
I made a lot of changes (about 320-350) to the campaign: I was about to post the change log (58-60kbs) of my changes on Hard-Light Productions, but I couldn't do that because my post broke the 50.000 characters limit (!!!). This should give a good impression of how dedicated and much desired my upgrade of Warzone is.
Warzone 2.3 is intended to solve all issues raised by version 2.0 and also add significant additions. As I said elsewhere, it's probable that Warzone will be voice acted in the future - that's a possibility I'm really looking forward to, as I intend to manage the process and bring a notable product to the rest of the FreeSpace community.

General Battuta, one of the fellow community members who is working on Blue Planet, has accepted my interview request!
You can see the results here.
Blue Planet is one of the most well praised custom campaigns for FreeSpace 2. At the end of the interview, I told him that it'd be nice to have a fantastic project like Blue Planet here on ModDB.

I like to experiment new things, so I decided to create this.
For now on, I intend to add INFASA-related topics to the "Features" section of the game. I really want to create a database of INF-related information somewhere, and ModDB seems the perfect place to do it. Although many parts of the articles come from FS Wiki articles created by me, I intend to make those features more unique by inserting additional and previously unavailable info.
You may expect to find more in that section, such as further descriptions of On-board Computer Programs or detailled articles about INFASA's factions, ships, plot backgrounds and fleets. The Ricochet Effect page is an experiment - if it works, I'll carry on with more features of that kind.

Progress on the Upgrading campaigns article, which is intended to be the result of the FSCRP Team's experience and work, has been moved to ModDB.
I assume you're wondering why this happened, and I can ensure you that today's event is surely not a memorable one. Well, I can only say that for now on it'll be impossible to update the article on FreeSpace Wiki, which will keep an old and outdated version of the article. ModDB is a very nice alternative, and I hope that things here will proceed as planned.
I'd also like to say that the FSCRP Team may hopefully capitalize on using ModDB to promote our products and bring more people to the FreeSpace community.
Useless to say that I accept suggestions, rants... virtually anything.
