I am a Level Designer and 3d modeler from Tampa, FL., and part of the Unreal PHD team. We are a global game design team, and have produced maps for Halo, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Tournament 3. Separately we do 3d for commercials, print, and websites, and have worked together for 2 years to enter the game market. As a studio we plan on releasing our first two games (one already in progress) in 2010, and plan to sell the first one for $8. It will be for PCs and built with the UDK.

Working on our new Game

MN8 Blog

Our new game is coming along well, I can't disclose the Game title yet, but hopefully soon. We have some really talented people working on this game, and I am very excited about it. We have 2 concept artists, several maya and max modelers, several zbrush artists, and 3 Unreal Engine programmers. We also have 2 voice over talent, and one sound designer/music creator.

We will be posting updates as our game release date nears, check on Unrealphd.com for game updates.

Our game studio has created custom maps and content for Halo, Fear, Unreal 2004 and Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3), and we received an Honorable Mention from Epic games $1 Million dollar Make Something Unreal Contest (MSUC) last year in UT3.

Now we have created a high definition 3 1/2 hour video that will teach anyone how to design their own games in just 1 day using Epic's free Unreal Development Kit, and it's available for Digital Download or on DVD. It is the only tutorial that that can teach you everything you need to know in such a short amount of time.

Do you want to learn to create Next Gen Games? Learn the essentials from start to finish in our 3 1/2 hour video tutorial UnrealPHD Introduction to Unreal Development Kit. Only $25 for the digital download, and you can create your first next gen FPS game in just one day! Unrealphd.com

Things in the Unreal World are going great, we are loving Unreal Development Kits new features over Unreal Engine 3. Thanks EPIC! We released a bunch of free tutorials all over the web on UDK, and released our first training dvd, Introduction to Unreal Development Kit. As a small game studio/game team, it's going to be hard competing with 3dbuzz (who are awesome) and Gnomon. But our dvd is only 3 1/2 hours long, and doesn't do anything repetitive, you just build a complete map from A to Z pretty quickly, and we hope that Unreal Developers that don't want to sit thru 20-60 hours watching other tuts to make a map enjoy watching ours and doing things faster.

Other than that we are working on our first standalone game, we are still working out the details, but we have alot of assets to work with. The first game will be futuristic like the our map Starbase Defense that got an Honorable Mention from Epic Games in the Make Something Unreal Contest.

We also want to create a 2d scroller probably at the same time, and we are excited to do something different than the First Person Shooters we have done in the past (Halo, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Unreal Tournament 3).

We are also wanting to put together a Crysis team, but to start with to port our artwork from Unreal Engine directly to Crysis. If you know anyone that is qualified (we won't turn over 18 months of our Unreal work to anyone who isn't qualified with maps of their own) please contact us with info.

Seasons greetings to all!
