Sounds real nice! Looking forward to more info!
Sounds real nice! Looking forward to more info!
I'm sad to hear about the departure. Although I can understand your reasons. I wish the best of luck to your new project and may it go through the system just fine, without some company trying to get in your way.
It has been fun following MERP before the C&D with pictures and audio files being released, so thanks for that. Also thanks for the imagination of traveling through the Shire to the Black Gates at Mordor in a Skyrim way! (;
That would be cool... and would take a helluva long time to achieve. :p
Splendid! Now let's try and make the 40000....!
But whyyyy?.. I mean it's not likely that, when the signatures hits 30000, a magical event, involving 34 naked dwarves, a goat and other random things, will tell us that WB's have changed their mind. :p Updates aren't really something you can call upon to show up on an exact time..
I'm sure that if there were something important to talk about we would already know. It would kinda sound stupid if they posted an update saying: "A month ago we learned that this mod will never happen. Sorry to tell you guys that so late, but we just wanted the petition to reach 30000! Cheers"
It would take soo much longer for the mod to come out, if they also had to make an Aragorn storyline, or Legolas storyline.
Fortunately they'll let us experience the great battles Aragorn and Legolas visit - and also including battles that never saw the light in the movies. Just try the White Council storyline :D
You could look up the dates, of where they'll be and decide to look them up. They'll be in Rivendell on a certain date, be there yourself and you'll see them, if that idea hasn't been taken down. (:
I'm not sure I follow. Are you asking for a release date, or when the developers will abandon the mod...?
We'll see about those things after the whole WB's thing.
I don't think they're described like that anywhere. I think MERP team has decided themselves, how they see, what the Nameless Things are.
Not a question I'm fully capable of answering. You'll have to ask a developer! :p
Gandalf mentions them in the Two Towers :)
Ofc they're included! Moria is originally planned to be extremely huge. That kind of huge, where you don't explore everything on a single run - cause it's simply too large (Bring. Many. Torches.). Moddb.com - from the Oblivion page.
I'm hoping to see some side quests centered around exploring Moria further, with a team of dwarves or something. Even visiting the creatures, that are only mentioned by Gandalf - The Nameless Things! Now take a look at this from the Oblivion page - Moddb.com
Of course I hope to see all that, if MERP-team actually get to work further on this...
Well companies like EA and WB have one simple job. Make money. It's a business and as in every other business - more money means more power and better paychecks. It's not their job to 'care' for their consumers - they're just here to make money. It's sad, but it's how things work. EA are publishers (mostly) and they fund other smaller game companies to make games of high quality for them. Take BioWare for instance.
BioWare are a rather big company, but not as big so they can publish their games themselves. BioWare do care about the quality of their games, but they need the money from EA to make them (Of course EA meddles in their affairs, as it is their money that's used, but usually not in any fatal way). At the same time EA needs BioWare to make high quality games for them, so they can keep up a good public image along with their products, and earn A LOT of money. The same thing with DICE and their Battlefield.
We are gamers - consumers. The game companies are the ones that deliver us what we will consume. They only have to deal with keeping our interests, so we want to "consume" that product. It's a sad tale, but it would be better just to accept it, so that you won't feel as much disappointment and rage, when these things happen. EA could earn a lot of money on a LOTR RPG, but hey... they're getting quite a fine amount of money as it is now. They don't need to make such a game and who would risk money on something they don't actually need to risk money on? Well if the income would be great, then they could make such a game, but right now as it is I don't think the majority of gamers out there needs another RPG. Who knows? With The Hobbit release it would be a quite good time to release such a product as an RPG. Thankfully we have companies like Blizzard and Valve, who do make high quality products and publish them themselves. Of course that's also a part of keeping their image and earn money, but their way is better for sure!
I also saw an article, which said that LucasArts has already put 1313 on the shelf - and that a chance to see it coming would be near 0%. :/
A diversity in gaming is healthy my young Padawan!
If there would be nothing in it and nothing to do, would it then still be Middle Earth? ;P
So very very disappointing :s I was looking forward to more info on 1313!!
Also I love Battlefront 2. One of the games I have the most fond memories with!
If there were anything to tell, I'm sure we would know (; The lawsuit is still ongoing, buuut WB's are currently in trouble with Tolkien Estates as well. If TE wins MERPs chances to see another day are improved greatly. If not... well, then MERP is at where they started in the lawsuit :s
Even if that's true, in the end it would kinda defeat the mods purpose :/
Of course it's gonna be better. The difference between these guys and a lot of gaming companies are that these guys are actual fans :p ... and that my friend makes a difference!
please... just stop yourself -.-
28000! my god... you guys deserve it! :D
Our ultimate weapon of mass-destruction!!
NOTHING can withstand against such great power. Unleash it... and many men shall fall.
Of all the races you could pick.... you pick the one I have never heard about in ME. :p
Worth every penny!
I surely don't hope we then won't see Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again, if they lose :oo
Peter Jackson did a nice job in my opinion!
Well the option is there to be decided!! :P
Does that mean we would have to convince WB's, how crap lotr games are in general, so they'll make the last "ent" march and finish the mod with the team? :PP
I did too for a time :P
But that was when I had only seen the movies.
They don't really explain if Faramir is yelling "Nazgûl" at the Ringwraiths or the Fellbeasts, in the second movie. :ss
Dude, we are the ones thanking! I mean this whole project is a dream coming in true in so many fans eyes, so Thank You!
aaand Merry Christmas!
