I meet a German person named Mladen. Coincidence? I think not! ps: This name is really cool, I always thought it was a fictional name :p

It's my real name and it's pretty rare in my country, my people say that it's a old slavic name, also (mlad) in my language means (young).

Often male names in my county are- Marko, Nikola, Stefan, Srdjan, Ivan, Dragan, Nemanja, Bogdan, Milan, Vladimir, Nenad, Aleksandar, Milos, Radovan, Luka, Dejan, Djordje, etc.

That guy said Mladen is a common name in the Balkan countrys, but perhaps not in Serbia (or he was wrong). In German 'jung' means young (it's just the same word, but written differently), but we didn't got a name with it. Only 'Junge' means boy.

Well it's common but not that much, the names i written below are much more common, Marko, Stefan and Nikola are one of them.

Here are names that have word in it.
Nikola(niko means no one)
Dragan(drag means dear)
Nemanja(nema means does not have)
Bogdan have two words in it(bog means god, dan means day)
Vladimir(mir means peace)
Milos(milo means prettily)
Radovan(rado means gladly and van means (outside) but it's used rarely)
Luka(luk, have two meanings in my language, it means BOW but it also means ONION)

In my language mostly old names have meanings: Siegfried (Sieg means victory, Fried could mean peace (Frieden is peace) or like in Bergfried/Burgfried (Keep, like in the castle). Or Gottlieb, Gott means God, lieb means...well 'lieben' is a verb: to love. But you can also say 'Ich habe dich lieb' I would translate it to: 'I have you in love' like, 'I keep you in memories'. And those are only two.

The special thing about this is that you say: 'Ich liebe dich' to you girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband etc. and 'Ich habe dich lieb' to your dad/mum/sister etc. and some (girls mostly) even say that to their friends.

Ahh.. I think that person is a Sorbian, related to the Serb, usually they came from Silesia, also called "White Serbia", they are South Slavs that didn't follow the Migration to the Balkan and assimilate into German culture, while maintaining their South Slavic identity, from what i learned.
