You can actually talk to the NMRiH devs and they can confirm more than 50% of the map was initially made by them and he was brought in.

Considering that they didn't go to Source, and said they don't plan to ever really port it, I doubt it. It lives on HL, and will die on HL.

Glad this will never get released.

Kotaku needs to be shot for that review. The story was one of the games STRONGEST POINTS!

I admit it was short and that sucked hardcore, but the story, characters, and world felt so alive. THE OPPOSITE of what they said.

Add on to the fact, that you'd have to rig them to work in GMod which can be a pain in the *** with all the features these days. It's not so easy. They did this as a service to the community. Impressive, I'd say.

It's a great game and I can't wait to buy it...I already beat it, but it's one game I really feel like I NEED to purchase. I will soon, and keep on truckin' ACE.

Yeah, but ACE only has to worry about ACE and not a whole ton of other stuff.

Still, awesome guys, and boo to you negative comments, it's free, and it saves GMod people alot of time, and shows they generally know what fans of a niche game like this want. Awesome GMod pictures of Zeno Clash figures doing hilariously outrageous things.

True. Amazing modeling and mapping skills can't make up for flawed gameplay, that doesn't even fit the niche.

I kinda agree. In the old one, it only took like 4-6 hits to die. In 2.0, so far, it took me almost 30 to die. What the hell happened there? Was it a one time glitch? Cause I had alot of enemies constantly bashing me and I would not die.

New Ammo System is also kinda annoying. I didn't know you'd respawn either...that's so lame. It removes all of the creep factor. I only played for 7 minutes and liked most of the changes, but didn't know about the Respawn mode. I also think the current amount of Health you get is to much! I had 3 of those guys who spit fire breath it on me for like 10 seconds and it didn't kill me. In the old one, just one of them killed me if I let one get close.

Overall, great job, but you lost the horror feel. Now it's more like L4D with runnin' and gunnin'. I love L4D, but I like a little variety in meh Zombie games.(Or Demons, whatever)

Mkilbride May 4 2009, 7:27pm replied:

Ok, let me correct that. Small "ACTIVE" Playerbase. I know it sold well, but usually not more than a few hundred playing UT3 at any given time. IF the games community is that large, I mean it's not like they'll all shift to this mod(even though it's awesome).

Once it goes retail, and it will, it'll probably balance a nice 1000 playerbase. Most UE mods to go retail average around that.

Mkilbride May 4 2009, 7:10am says:

It'll probably get on the Shelves like "Killing Floor", it has that quality.

I imagine the mod will never have to many people playing, due to UT3's small playerbase, but like most UT Engine based mods, eventually hits the shelves.

The quality is very intense in this mod. I agree on that. It's pretty fun, but nothing unique.(Yet)

I'd probably buy it if it went retail and had a full SP(doubtful) and some interesting MP, like maybe Survivors can do base buildings.

Played a lil bit the other day. You guys have to buy it. It's absolutely amazing. It renders large open areas which most people believe Source can't do well...but I suffer no performance issues in this.

As said, the Art Direction really shows how awesome Source can be.

Gameplay is pretty damn fun, I can imagine many more games trying to adapt more gameplay like this, made me think Butchers Bay.

Story so far seems epic on a scale rarely seen in most games these days. Technically, it's not their first game though, they released some for the Atari back in

Overall, I hope they'll continue and this will inspire other professional Teams to try out Source and not call it "Outdated", and "Overly complicated"

I've been seeing alot of Source based Retail games lately, and I say, it's ABOUT DAMN TIME. It's taken far to long for third party developers to really start chugging out Source games.

You should ALL try this, I didn't have any expectations, but as a rule of the thumb, I try out all Source based games, and like most, it rocks.

Mkilbride Apr 23 2009, 9:37pm says:

In my post, I even said Fileplanet IS good PR. I'm just saying releasing it exclusively there, even if for only a day or two, is a bad idea. RELEASE IT THERE, OF COURSE. Just don't make it exclusive to Fileplanet for even a minute. I want it released on all sites at the same time, no favor shown to any of them. Also, are you seriously trying to say Fileplanet is some forefront of the gaming community, and that it can make or break something? Pretty damn arrogant.

Fileplanet is usually behind the times if I ever saw anything. They usually have files that have been on other sites for a week or more just show up.

Why isn't it satisfactory to just release it on all sites at the same time? It can be on Fileplanet and others, that's basically what I said, and I am asking, why do you want Fileplanet to have it before anyone that you guys will receive more attention and people would be FORCED to use you.

I'm one of the people who actually DEFEND Fileplanet against my friends. "It's not as bad as you all say it is.", I've said that so many times. I use it all the time, but releasing it as an EXCLUSIVE to Fileplanet for ANY degree of time only benefits you alone.

Ricecrispi has basically been saying that releasing it on Fileplanet alone, albeit, not forever, but for a short amount of time will be good for it...I can't see how it benefits the maker of this mod. It limits the audience and possible viewers.

Just imagine, release day. It's on Fileplanet, FileFront, Fileshack, WHATEVER GOD DAMNED SITE YOU WANT. Just don't limit it to one site on launch. You'll regret it.

Mkilbride Apr 23 2009, 1:33pm says:

Uh, yeah, no.

I use FilePlanet all the time, unlike others, I don't have much issues with it, it's good for Mod PR and even if they're slow downloads, they're reliable, that's for sure.

Though I'll agree 100% with everyone else here, FileFront is better, any site is really better, being Exclusive is NOT looking out for their best interest. It's looking out for FILEPLANETS BEST INTERESTS AND NOT THE MODS. Blatant lies you are telling, my friend. Exclusive on Fileplanet is only good for ONE party.(You)

Like the dev said, I hope he can reconsider. Decadence, aside from it's other faults, suffered from being exclusive to Fileplanet for like 2-3 days, which in all honesty, hurt what it could do.(Throw in it's other bugs, and you've got a plan for disaster)

Wider-audience? How the HELL is it a wider audience if it's Exclusive? Why not release it on Fileplanet AND other sites, then it'll reach a even WIDER audience and help the mod developer out MORE. IF you TRULY wanted to help them, you'd understand that.

Hope everyone that bought the OST is enjoying it. I'm sure Ed Harrison really appreciates the support.

We're steadily attacking the last few things needed to be done before release, as well as ramping up our playtesting with larger player counts. 32 player NT is fun, but it's looking more like a game that's better somewhere near 16-20 (or 8v8, 10v10, etc.)

We have 20 maps ready to go, but have decided on 10 for first release, maybe 11. The rest of the maps will be released with whatever patching needs to be done in the weeks after that. (bug fixing, fixing exploits, etc..) Big thanks to the ZPS testers, TDR testers, and all the people from the forums and IRC that have jumped in to help fill player numbers, it's very much appreciated.

Thanks. I just mean, it's bad enough some mods are ripping models and even animations from other mods(Zombie Mod), but they're mostly going unnoticed by the community at large. DBD is gaining a large amount of interest and people are constantly praising him for work that he did not do, and even the way he presents his stolen work is sub-par...

The only reason it's so freaking popular is because L4D has grown stale due to waiting for updates and whatnot for so long, so people just want anything that's half decent. I can't understand how people could even enjoy something like that, I mean sure, it'd be cool to play those old movies, but the whole time, I'd be thinking "Stolen work", and find it not fun due to that. It's just how I am.
