Darth Brush...How can I say this nicely. He took Last Stand and Harvest, both maps that I aided in the creation of the layouts with Mobius years ago, for NMRiH. He made them. And gave them both to Zombie Panic Source, after we supported him. He also took Crossroads mall from us, with content created by our team (A lot of the ads in the map and the sort are references to NMRiH team-members). Now, Zombie Panic Source has released 1.5 with OUR Harvest map, and they're just now giving me Last Stand back. It's been a complete disaster, in my opinion. But yes, that was me. And I'm standing by that decision.

No More Room in Hell has re-surfaced and claimed that Dead before Dawn must remove all Assets, textures, and props, that came from the mod. Essentially GUTTING the map pack. This shows even further proof of how little work he has done, and how now it doesn't matter that he won, because he can't even continue. :P

Oh snapple, I'm sure he's going to have to pretty much change everything he's done so far then.

Yer an idiot. They wouldn't get as far as that trailer and then die. If they did, it'd be insane. Short of a fire that burns all their data, or the team dying, I think it'll get released. It's to much work for something to not at least come out.

Sides, they update their HomePage all the time. Check that out, don't rely on Moddb.

FFVIII, the under-rated, superior to FFVII, Final Fantasy.

Short list of better RPGS:

Breath of Fire 3
Any of the Chrono games
Legend of the Dragoon(Albeit, it did come out a year or two later, so it had that advantage, but still, it was superior in almost all aspects)

And that's just a few I can name off the top of my head, RPGs at that.

I watched the movie. Seriously though, how much detail and effort, more development has gone into it than most full blown mods?

Look at the other mods on the list. Look at them. They all have done far, far, far more work than you have. I hope the developer at least feels bad? I know I would in a situation like this.

Don't find it a lil bit odd that one of the team members for DBD is in the MoTY group? I surely find that abit odd.

I did play it. A few months ago. It had new sounds and various new props, voices, and I saw some variations of enemies at least. There was a feeling that they had done some actual work, unlike DBD.

Renegade X will rock regardless though.

Regardless though, a map pack with little to no work has won "Best Upcoming". Sad.

Infinity got #2 man. M&B got #1. The layout is just odd.

Minaerva actually added new things, such as voices and enemies though. It was a Singleplayer mod.

Seriously? So he may not even finish?! On top of all he's already done?

It'd be a huge **** slap to the face to not even finish after he wins this. Unless a family member dies, or his computer burns to the ground, there is no just reason not to finish this. After the awards, if he doesn't finish it, no modding team, anywhere, will ever want to be with him.

Congrats. M&B is a fun game, very unique and endless amount of things to do.

I was expecting to to win, and when I saw the editors, I was worried, but this clearly shows.

M&B was made by TWO PEOPLE! A husband and wife! Good job to them!

I'm not a 4 year old. Infact, most of the mods I like did make it into the top. What I'm ****** about is that, if any other mod but DBD had won, I wouldn't be as ******. Sure, I want my favorite mod to win, but that's besides the point.

If it had lost to something that feels like an equal amount of hard work and dedication, I wouldn't complain like this.

Right now it just feels so rigged. I can't help but feel someone used some proxies and voted like a mother. It happens alot in online votes.

You guys took work that was already done, ported it over, made minor adjustments, and then steal a spot on the top 5. You also gain prizes that you probably don't know how to do anything with, and will go to waste.

And I'm just a player! I can't imagine how a Dev feels about this. Pouring his sweat over the years, accomplishing things most people only talk about doing for their mods, and then somehow, someone who bypasses all the work, takes the glory, and prizes, and then wastes them.

This was -bad- reputation for this mod. I've only see on every gaming forum lately "Moddb looses respect, DBD is a joke", basically.

No matter how good of a map pack you guys release, this bad rep will follow you. People will label you cheats, and a large portion of the community feels disdain for you.

Everyone who whines about their favorite mod not winning, is whining because if instead a 5th real mod was on it, it could of been theirs. Luckily, the one I wanted is already there, but I can understand how it feels when only 4 mods were selected.

Moddb's awards have the ability to skyrocket the popularity of a mod. Especially a first place one! So some people feel cheated that DBD is getting publicity for doing no work.

Sorry, but like someone else said, it's not a Upcoming mod for 2008. It's a map pack. It was ripped from a nearly dead mod, so all the work was pretty much done. They did a little porting...and now get a bunch of stuff they can't do anything with.

EVERYONE feels cheated, dev and player alike. Devs pour their heart and soul into a mod, only to see someone who did the -bare- minimal take the prize?

Neo Tokyo is a great example, that mod has more quality work in it than alot of commercial games. That's impressive for any team really. Renegade X is attempting to redo a great game that got over-looked, and they've too put in alot of work, as you can see on their page.

I feel very good about all of the choices up there, except the map pack. There are so many mods, with SO much more work done and deserving. I wouldn't mind if it was anything other than DBD, because DBD is not a mod now, and won't be for another year. It's not upcoming for another year even.

I'm about to say something that'll probably get me nega karma, or banned, but I really feel it's appropriate.

Also, to the person above, the devs aren't the ones complaining, it's us, the fans that are. We don't know how they feel about it, but at least it's community feels cheated that a map pack managed to steal what it and other mods deserved. I had some level of respect for Moddb, and it's just shot down a ton. I mean god, there are other mods I don't even like that that put in ALOT more work than DBD, I'd rather have them win than a map pack!

These people took a concept that was already made for them, ported it over, and did a little jerry-rigging, and took first place. It's so ****** up. I'm not even a dev, but it ****** me off to see such wastefulness. They barely did anything and get all this, and then they'll choose to do **** with it.

It just infuriates me everytime I see it. I can imagine what the other teams could do, and all the awesome possibilities!

Yeah, well, getting cheated is still getting cheated at the end of the day. What ****** me off the most though is that they're getting all these dev tools that they'll waste. All the other devs could of probably done some nice things with them, but now they're basically going to have no purpose.

So now only didn't the DBD team spit in all the mods elected this year, they also stomp on them with wasting the prize they received.

Doesn't matter. I believe Hard Work should be rewarded. DBD put about a months work into a map and won over people who have poured work in to their mods for years, achieving things DBD's devs only wish they could do.

Also they updated their site early this month. Moddb isn't a big concern for most modders lol.

First release obviously can't be on Steamworks though. Valve requires one solid release before you can use Steamworks. So yeah, the initial one will be available.

People who hate Steam are idiots though. I've been using since Beta and no issues at all.

Oh yeah. I already looked that up. NT team has been working for 4, almost 5 years. Along comes a MAP PACK, with very little done at all! And it takes BEST UPCOMING?! WHAT THE **** IS THAT? The other mods on the list were all pretty good, I felt GOOD about their nominations, but then I saw a mod I'd never even heard of.

I thought "Hey, it may be a gem like NT(Which I just learned of this month), so I click on it, read about it, and watch the video.

It's so obviously be rigged by fans of their community. No way that would win by default. Sorry, but the amount of work in it isn't even a full month.

A map pack won first place? That's freaking insane. I checked out the current video for it and it's nothing more than a new map + Vanilla L4D. I honestly believe it was rigged.
