That's a shame. Really can't wait. I love the J games and upgrading their graphics cannot be a bad thing.

I remember hearing about this early last year, then never again and couldn't find the topic someone made about it.

Can't wait.

Damn you.

You ruined it. Waited so many years.

You put RECOIL in. The original did not have Recoil and I thought that made it more like the RTS it was. Now the recoil...just so blech.

Ah well, for free, one can't complain to much, though there is disappointment.

Also, users die so quickly, from a few shots, while in Renegade they used to slowly wittle their HP bar down, felt like a RTS again.

This feels like generic Gears of War rock em sock em robots.

Just Cause 2 is a project that has taken years, thousands of dollars, and alot of work. Trust me - getting 3,000 concurrent players into a seamless world from an Engine not designed to support it, is no easy feat.

Yeah.

This is just so awful.

If they have communities outside of Moddb - then why do they all of a sudden come here, and vote in the hundreds of thousands? That's suspicious.

You say "Moddb doesn't matter", then, hundreds of thousands of fans from outside of Moddb come here to vote.

So yeah, seems like it does seem to matter, doesn't it?

I wish at least being registered was a requirement to vote...then, if a bunch of accounts all were created and voted on the same day for one specific mod, they could look into it easier.

Yes, I'm losing faith in Moddb as of late. There are many mods that get randomly 20,000 to 30,000 visitors in a day that have no news posts or anything really, and are taking the #1 spot, but no one knows where it came from, only for the mod to all of a sudden lose it's ranks and viewers and such...

Typical fanboy arguments of DayZ. It can do no wrong. You wouldn't take even a fraction of the ******** Dean Hall does from any other developer, but because it's DayZ, all can be forgiven.

And he knows it. he uses it. he exploits it.

Mkilbride Dec 21 2013, 8:45am replied:

Then you'd be wrong. The average Indie title price is 14.99$ to 19.99, actually.

As for 7 Days to Die, it offers much more content. As for Nether, it's 19$ as well.

And do the sales mean anything? I don't see why you brought them up. Has nothing to do with the people who see DayZ and believe it can do no wrong.

I almost hate the DayZ community, despite loving the game, because they will forgive anything, that for most developers, they'd be tearing their eyes out.

Also, this isn't an Indie game. I don't know why you said that. This is by Bohemia, Rocket has a full team, support, funding, ect...so it is shameful for what he has now.

Of course you wouldn't get the outdated department...because you think I meant graphics. I mean the Engine itself, which has **** poor multi-threading performance, forcing most things to one core and not spreading evenly, it is based on an out-dated Engine from 2001.

If he had chosen an entirely new Engine, and everything was built from scratch, I'd agree on the price and time to develop. But he hasn't.

No, at release, it will be worth 30$, maybe, if they add 4-5 maps of the same quality, improve zombie AI to the point it doesn't glitch through the ground to attack you, and make the inventory system not a chore.

BAD gameplay does not EQUAL difficulty. DayZ was hard merely due to the nature of the ArmA Engine. I was hoping this to be changed, but maybe they won't.

Imagine if Contagion, the successor to Zombie Panic, released, re-using most of the mods free content. Would people buy that? I don't believe so. They went the extra mile, upgraded the Engine, new weapons, new maps, new zombies, new gameplay elements - absolutely nothing remains of ZPS in it. ANd they only sell it for 14.99 EA, 19.99$ release - and even for it's current state of Alpha, it has far more content.

Mkilbride Dec 19 2013, 4:32pm says:

So it will be 50$ on release?

The same price as ArmA3, but with a weaker engine, less content, and re-used content from the free mod? ArmA3 was 26$ on sale for it's Alpha. Yours is a mod using an outdated Engine, that you are selling, you added some HDR, it has less features than the mod, less content than the mod.

And what's that? It's not due out til Mid 2015?(Not even leaving Alpha for OVER a year.)

I'll wait for a large sale. It should've gone 10$ Alpha, 20$ Beta, 30$ release.
