Where's the motion blur? It looked so darn cool in the videos!
I just posted about that...
I found something weird: you can talk to Wolf about defending the camp, and he'll ask you to find an AK74, but it is not put on your PDA. Then, when I got it, he asked me (if I had extra weapons, which I did) to supply some of the noob stalkers. I tried selling it to them (the icons would be red, and the price would be 0, but they wouldn't go into the "sell" box on the trade screen), I tried dropping the guns near them, nothing worked. Just want to know whats up.
I'm just curious, why doesn't the game look quite as good as the videos do? I have the settings maxed. Were the videos more of the targets than what it actually is? I'm just curious, not whining. The mod is amazing, and I'm happy to play it at all. I just want to make sure that it is configured properly on my computer.
I just dl'ed the beta, and all I can think to say is: WOW!!! That is easily the best Stalker mod ever.
I love you Santa!
This will be officially released on the 25th, right? Not more delays... I really want to play this, and I don't want the bugs of the "leaked" version. Also, will the released version be a beta, or full?
Thanks. The loads aren't quite as bad as I at first thought, they are just annoying. However, the mod is amazing enough to make it worth the wait.
I don't have crashes, but the load times are ridiculous. I've used the -noprefetch addon to the exe, which is working wonders, since now the game actually loads in my lifetime, but it is still slow as heck.
Does the winter mod have anything to do with this(I didn't used to use it and it seemed to load a little bit faster)? I can get rid of it, np, but I kind of like it. And yes, I have the latest patch.
I'm running it on a dual-core with a 9600GT and 2GB ram, on Steam (but never any issues because of it). Any other things I can do for better load times?
Not better. Different. FoK is about making it more like the board game, this is about making it a better game, with or without the warhammer aspects.
I saw something about a second alpha. Anybody wanna explain how to get it if its out? I'm confused.
Will the new update finish everything excluding balance (for later patches)?
Just curious, is there any sort of guide to using various factions? For instance, I have trouble playing the space marines since their so expensive for so little extra power (IMO). Which probably means I'm playing it wrong. So if there is any repository of knowledge to help morons like me figure out what some things are good for, I'd love to know where it is.
I liked the knife... and I want machetes! If Treyarch can't be bothered to put in a katana you could at least put in the machete. Other than that, it looks great!
Looks nice! One question though: Will this run on Warhead/Crysis Wars w/ SP mod? Some mods have compatibility issues, and I never bought the original Crysis.
I DL'ed this, and its seriously awesome. However, I have a number of questions about it. Is there any uber-faq that explains just about everything new in the mod? If not, my question is why do you need to smoke? What does it do for you?
I just figured out something I did stupidly, too. I was able to edit before taking up three paragraphs trying to explain the issue. Somebody hurt me :P
Thanks! I'm definitely gonna give this a shot!
Is this an improved version of Oblivion Lost or is it just an Oblivion Lost-like mod?
Also, what exactly are the differances? Sorry if this info is elsewhere, I couldn't find it.
Very nice! Keep up the good work!
Very, very nice. Couldn't figure out what some of the weapons were really supposed to do, though. 8/10
Is this going to be released as a download after the beta?
Believe me when I say I don't want you to make it in UT3 (I don't own it so I couldn't play this mod). I was just curious why you were doing this in GOW instead of in (For example) the source engine. Given your decision to have the AI be able to take cover, this seems like a good choice. Thanks for the answer!
Can you take cover in the first person mod? Cause if you can't, then why are you doing this in gears?
If you actually make this, make it work, and make it good, I will create a shrine in your honor and label you the Chuck Norris of the Computer.
After just having finished all the nightmare modes, I can easily say this is the best single player mod I have ever played in the puzzle genre. The combat could use some work, but it's fun for a little while, which is all you'll spend using it. However, some more spells would be nice in the future. All in all though, the puzzles were a lot of fun, the graphics were spectacular, and I can't wait for Episode 2!
Very, very nice mod guys. I haven't finished it, but after playing a good bit of it, I can easily say that this is one of the best singleplayer HL2 mods ever.
