Mike Thal recently completed his Masters of Music in Music Technology at New York University (2017). Over the years he has focused on sound design and implementation for interactive media, such as video games. Mike is also experienced in procedural audio. His thesis utilized additive synthesis patches to generate sound effects for video games. This research assesses the viability of procedural synthesis in video games based on player immersion. He has also contributed his sound experience to linear media, including film and TV.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Music Business from Syracuse University (2013). During his time there, Mike learned a great deal about the industry side of entertainment. Additionally, he spent a great deal of time outside the classroom starting his career in sound design and composition.
