Games are great!! This is like a gaming renaissance going on right now. So many games, so little time.
Thanks for writing this kind of behind the scenes stuff. I'm dumb as a stump but fascinated with how smart you guys/girls are and good info for gamers who have no idea what goes into making a game. Now get this thing kickstarted!!
Such an amazingly well done game so far. Everyone has cool ideas, but not everyone can turn those ideas into a fun game. I really, really want to preorder, kickstart, early access, give you some money for this game. Looks like Rawbots (minus the complexity of visual programming) plus open world exploration and mining plus vehicle sim and combat in a nice fun package (oh and some Captain Forever). This has just become my #1 game to look forward to.
Nice :) The 360 and PS3 controllers have 2 joysticks already (as well as many 3rd party gamepads). Why not just let your controls use those? I would only advise to have solid controls. Controls make or break a game. If they don't feel right to you, they won't feel right to us the gamers.
Wow, very nice. Now I need to make some family members play with me . . . and find some free time :/
Just played a little bit. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE me some hoverboards!! Nice job as usual Phr00t. It's great looking around while moving in whatever direction the board is moving and changing direction with the hook or steering - Perfect.
I love great controls in games. Minecraft has that same quality of making ordinarily difficult tasks (in other games) super easy because of great controls. If you have to stop and think about what buttons to press then you lose the immersion. Gameplay and great controls > graphics all day, every day.
Can you actually drive around with the crane? That would be very fun. You could even have a mini-game moving crates from one area to another with a truck crane like that.
Looks great! The devs of Project Zomboid lost a bunch of their work when they had 2 laptops stolen early in development. BACK UP every time! (please, because this looks so great).
I need to check myself for online backup for documents in case of a hard drive failure. I picked up an external 750 GB drive for around $60 last Christmas just to back up steam games to avoid 2 months of downloading if one of our computers fails.
Really looking forward to this game/sim.
Great!! Been watching this game since your first outstanding demo.
I like the graphic touches a lot. Just having slight indentations on the buildings instead of completely flat walls adds a lot. I have fun just running around in these open world games looking around.
I haven't had much time to play and usually get killed early, but rolling along on the quests now. Appreciate all the work you put into these games.
You are a programming machine.
This is my most anticipated game on Desura. Great work!
You are a big tease. You need an alpha version. I have money :)
Okay, not a lot, but I would pay for this and eat noodles for a while.
Absolutely cannot wait for this!! Playing Rawbots and love games that give you this kind of freedom.
Looking fantastic - Really like the camera in the truck. Maybe you can have a user camera that can be placed anywhere - on the walking machines, on top of bridges, etc.
PC really needs a great sim like this.
Edit - Although, looking at other pics maybe you already have that :/
This map made me buy a second copy for LAN play. Thanks for the great game!
I bought this from devs website ages ago. Great game that you should definitely buy. One thing that bothered me was the washed out color look in the maps. It was kinda hard to see what was going on, although I think I am in the minority on that opinion :/
This map fixes that. The graphics are bright and clean and don't look washed out. This is a true joy to play with this winter map.
If you don't own this game - BUY IT NOW!!!
Thank you for the free content and the great game :)
God you type a lot :) It's nice when devs write up what is happening behind the scenes like this (and Space Pirates and Zombies devs on the steam forums).
I love the new look and will be buying another copy for LAN multiplayer and say thanks for the extra work on the art - may have to be a couple of paychecks from now :(
Anything that makes a server easy to create is great! Minecrafts new 1.31 release makes creating a LAN server out of any map you are playing sooo easy that even I can run a server and have family members join.
+rep for all your hard work :)
My god, do you ever sleep? Ever? Thank you for including an updater with your game or I could never keep up. Bet you have another update ready to go before I finish typing this. At least stop long enough to go to the bathroom. :)
So, can I buy a second copy for multiplayer through the same account on your website or do I need to create a new account?
You are awesome, your game is awesome, this is just awesome!
:) Better and better.
Mere words cannot describe my love for this game.
Great news! Great game made better with an editor.
This is awesome, some sort of soda dispenser, laser weapon, turret or possibly ATM. Nice! Does that guy have new pants?
Sorry, feeling weird, worked too many hours. Keep up the great work.
That's what was missing!
I was running the 1.25 version great. The new version gives me this error when starting the game -
"The application or DLL D:\Games\Masterspace\MSVCP100.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."
I renamed it just to see if I could start the game and it gave me the same error but with "MSVCR100.dll." After renaming that file I was able to start the game but terrain is black.
This is on Win XP 32 bit. I have a Win 7 computer I will try tomorrow and see if it runs. This was using this download on indiedb. I looked at the files in the paid version online on your website but they say 1.3 preview and not sure if those are the final 1.3 files.
I'm real time excited. Next paycheck I'm picking up a second copy for multiplayer. Great job as always!
These videos were a great idea (almost mandatory watching). I didn't know most of this stuff. I just like hitting keys randomly and testing your damage modeling. Time to get serious.
Great looking game, best looking mahjong game I have ever seen.
The only thing I would change is the camera. I like that you can move it around with the right mouse, but when selecting tiles I think it should remain fixed and this would be perfect. It's a little nauseating to have it constantly moving as you pick tiles.
I would have definitely paid for this game.
Sorry, didn't add as a friend. I only game an hour here and there and usually disappoint when someone invites me to a game. I'm just going to keep this account friend free so I can escape Steam once in a while and get my indie game fix.
And yeah, Project Zomboid is great, hoping for that update soon. You should try out "Kerbal Space Program." The version on their website is the current demo. The next version will be for paid accounts, but for now everyone is on the same version. Only $7.00 to buy the full version and they have tons of stuff planned down the road.
Wow, nice job. Looks and runs incredibe.
Great little game. Bought this a while ago from SophieH directly and looks like she sent out Desura keys. Thanks!
This looks nice. On sale. I will buy it now :)
At first I thought this said "Now with 100% more beer." Imagine my disappointment.
Thanks, works perfectly! Great game that is hard to live without for even a day.
Three thumbs up!! (don't ask)
I will be ready tomorrow!
Free games are good and this is a good free game. Thanks!
Tried your demo, ugggh. I have only one word to describe this game - FANTASTIC!!!
The "ugggh" was because now I have another game to buy on payday. I never thought a 2D portal game would work. Not only did you prove it would work, but it works exceptionally well. I almost skipped this one (I thought this was just another 2D platformer) until I saw the demo link on indiegames.com and it was too easy not to try it. Excellent game.
For other people like me too lazy to look for the demo link - Smudgedcat.com
I only played once. Waiting to buy full verson to play again, so this is from (not very good) memory - Removing designated area is definitely in the menu. I think I just right clicked the area and the option to remove designated area should be right there. I had to do this a couple of times.
Awesome game by the way.
Gonna buy this game after trying the demo from your website. Payday cannot come soon enough.
As far as the similarity to Dwarf Fortress - I don't care. As a matter of fact I am very happy that someone put real graphics to the awesomeness that is Dwarf Fortress. Also, it is much easier to play with mouse controls. Maybe this will get a whole lot more people interested in this type of game and some of those will give Dwarf Fortress a try that otherwise would have ignored it. Dwarf Fortress will always be king. These games just make it more accessible to gamers. It can be win-win for all of these games.
Thank you for making this game.
Looks nice. Can't wait for the toggle smooth, blocky. Maybe add a very dim highlight to what ground you are going to affect when digging like minecraft (or even less noticeable) when using the smooth terrain would help, but not overdone like the minecraft clones.
Excellent game and the spaceships and traveling to other planets really makes it fun.
Bought this from your website - Very very awesome game. Gotta go chase some more material balls down the hill :)
This is just as amazing as I imagined it would be. Just experimenting and discovering stuff. Don't want to spoil anything so I will just say great job and ready to preorder any time you decide to add a 'buy' button.
Yeah, no rush. We'll just be waiting right here.
Just waiting for the alpha.
Just me and doctor_roxo hanging out.
No rush :)
[hit's F5 again and again]
This is the worst looking game ever. I don't know why, but I love it and bought it !!
You must have reverse engineered some future alien technology to create this game. Looking amazing.
The price doesn't bug me (well at 50% off), but I am a single player kinda person. Also, if the game relies on an online population that is small or nonexistent than so is the game. I'll keep an eye on this because it does have some really cool features and wish you luck.
Nice update coming. Just bought this and love the gameplay.
$1.99 - Just buy it. What a unique game. The graphics suck, but that's how I like my games sometimes (dwarf fortress). Great idea for a game - even better executed that I would have thought possible. Price is a steal. Thanks.
Don't know if you ever played "Kerbal Space Program," but their planetary terrain LOD is pretty ingenius. Kerbalspace.tumblr.com
Can't wait for your alpha to come out. This is my most anticipated game right now.
Wow . . .
wow . . .
Sorry, forgot how to think for a little bit.
Wow . . .
You know what, just take the whole wallet.
Thanks, great game and great dev team.
Please don't forget us that bought from your website. The updater still says 0.39. Can't wait to try out the 0.4x versions.
I don't want to comment on the clone of another game deal.
I bought on the first day and really well done game. Graphics, controller support (even vibrates my 360 controller) really nice. The jumping is a little floaty, but really like this game a lot. Very polished, very fun.
Loving the daily updates, this thing is shaping up very fast. It is the one game I look forward to every single day. Thanks.
I really like how the character walks towards the mouse when pressing forward. The only thing I would change is item selection. Simple is best. Maybe use shift + left click to select one item at a time and have it default to picking all blocks by just left clicking and left click to drop it in your quick select bar because most people will want to grab all their dirt blocks or torches at one time and drop them in their quick select. Controls should be second nature like breathing - you don't have to think about it.
Have to mention Minecraft here - It is so simple to play that my friend's twin 6-year-olds can play. The complexity comes from the gameplay and crafting as you learn new recipies, so it works for the very young all the way to adults and everyone has fun. Terraria is probably pushing the limits of more complex controls for younger kids to be able to play and have fun. Good second step up from minecraft. More streamlined controls allows the gamer to think about the game and forget about what keys or which mouse button to use.
I love any games with breakable blocks, crafting and creatures. I'm hoping this turns into a winner for the devs and the gamers.
Bought too many games the last few months. *sigh*
Bought one very special game recently - Rawbots. Wow pure joy. A learning curve with visual programming, but the possibilities are truly endless. I am very happy with this game/sim.
Don't mean to reply to my own post, but just started the game. I don't know why more games don't let you follow the mouse when you press forward. Sounds and looks fantastic and controls are perfect.
Just buy this people. This could end up being better than Terraria (but top down view).
This sounds like my dream game. It sounds extremely ambitious. Got my copy off your site (thanks for the discount - too many great games to buy lately). I'm really looking forward to how this one develops.
I bought this for the voxels, I love voxels. I buy all games with voxels. Looks very nice and different kind of game.
Only got to play a little bit so far, but this game looks great and handles awesome. Little things like hitting back (down arrow) to put yourself exactly opposite your direction of travel to slow down and stop without having to wiggle back and forth trying to figure out which way to thrust is very helpful. I feel guilty getting this game for free considering the hours I am going to be playing it.
