Not entirely sure what to say here... I'll just shoot from the hip: I'm currently a young male, living in Denmark. My aspiration is getting an education as a character animator and I'm currently bettering myself with that goal in mind. I guess it goes without saying that I enjoy drawing and, well, games. I've yet to decide if I want to pursue a career within cartoons, games or movies, or perhaps something entirely different. Other than that I'm a pretty down-to-earth guy. If there's anything you wish to know, feel free to ask away. Thank you for taking your time to read up on me. Cheers.

Grilljanne, I don't know about specifics, but being able to actually play the mod would be nice, so a server would certainly be appreciated :)

I'm also kinda of puzzled about this. Can this be considered an actual continuation of the original with it's ideas and plan of features?

Hmm... A way of telling where friendlies are would be nice, perhaps a map of something.

Else it's quite good, 'cept weapons feel a little flat to me.

Sounds good.
Also sounds like you're quite a small team working on this (3 including yourself).

Not that I'm capable, but rather out of pure interest, I'd like to ask if you're actively searching for teammembers, since this project sounds a little big for a 3 man team.

Anyhow, good luck.

I wish you the best of luck, and I'll keep an eye out for updates on this one.

God damn, that t-rex's got some fantastic animation behind it.
Seems like your animator's got some amazing care for details.

Looks brilliant, in-engine vid looked good too.

If you've got steam open and running, then close it and start it up again.

The game should turn up on your list of games in steam.

There seems to be a lot of sudden disconnects, without any following message, too.

Gameplay feels solid when playing, however, freezing during loading and parsing (I'm a patient guy and that wasn't a simple long loading-time) as well as untimely disconnects (asking if router ports are properly configured, which they are, and this being only game that ever had any problems with said router) as well as rare times where establishing connection to some servers seem to be a problem too.

But gameplay was good.

Another great update.
Awesome video, gave a good view of what you have in mind.
And kudos for your concept artist (of course, the rest of you, too) for the amazing concepts. They're fantastic and have a great deal of atmosphere.

Very nice.

Looks good, aye.

I agree with KodY about the realism. Somehow the colours of the explosions reminds me of "oil-explosions" and looks a little out of place.
A little brighter might do the trick.

Meh, I've voted for Overgrowth. I'd really wish I were able to preorder it, unfortunately there's currently a few problems with my bank and buying things online, from outside of my own country.
Hope I get it sorted out at some point, since I'd love to play around with your editor (I'd prolly just fling stuff over edges or from high places... childish, I know).

Good luck, hope you take this one home.

I'd imagine fun increases exponentially with player numbers, ye.
Can't wait to see what kind of things you'll be doing with it.
But I sure hope it will be playable with e.g. 4v4 and still maintain its fun gameplay, since I can imagine an open map with screams coming from some where in the distance, sneaking up on you can be fun too, especially if you're only a few people playing.
Oh ye, btw, that's glowing-head thing you've got going, is that how you intend for it to look in the finished game?
Since I think a couple of glowing eyes might look even better.
Makes me think of the Blood Suckers from S.T.A.L.K.E.R... those buggers had me close to peeing in my pants nearly everytime.

Pardon my double posting, but I think I found out why it seems a little off.

The effect of the guy hitting the floor simply doesn't feel violent enough.
The head and arms doesn't seem to actually smack down on the ground as violently as you would expect when jumped and pushed down by the weight of a raptor.

Don't know if that helped.

Mik0112 Dec 27 2009, 8:18pm replied:

Well, I don't think reaction time would be much of a problem, if you'd noticed the raptor prior to it's leap it would probably only require some getting used to in order to avoid it, if you hadn't seen it yet it could possibly be solved by implementing some sort of way to fend it off from the ground (an example would be how you defend yourself from dogs in CoD:MW).

I gotta admit, that jump to UDK concerned me, but with what you've shown so far, it seems like the right choice, with the improved support of vehicles, as well as a generally more flexible engine.

Nice choice and great job.

I still have the memories of playing the previous ESF versions in the back of my head. Still remember all the fan I had with it.

But damn, looking at it now, I'm almost scared my semi-new pc will need some hardware upgrades to play the next version :P

Awesome job you've done at this complete overhaul of something that was actually pretty good to begin with.

Keep it up.
