The great thing is that they're really not that detailed. They're just well-textured to give the appearance of lots of detail. Good-looking results and quick to make. Win-win.
Great trailer, while also sticking it to the crappy advertising for the actual DNF. Might have been nice to get a little bit of the DLC footage in there, specifically the bike level and the stadium, but otherwise very well done.
Firstly, you're missing the entire point of the mod; it's meant to represent what a sequel to DN3D would have looked like if made in 1997.
Secondly, what you're suggesting has already been done for a while now: Youtube.com
I think it might have recently been lifted to 64 levels.
That bedroom looks rreeeaaalllyyy empty
Don't worry no one's abandoned it. We're working on it, albeit slowly and only when real life allows. There ought to be 3 new big episodes out when it finally gets released.
eduke32's new multiplayer code should be finished within a few months, eventually that ought to lead to things like multi-character coop! I don't see deathmatch being huge though.
works for me
Wait until you see eduke's newer polymer renderer ;)
Eddy's using the older 3D renderer because it has much better performance and is more stable on ATI video cards (the newer renderer is good but isn't quite finished yet).
Great use of white fog. I hope the trees are animated or there's rain or something to keep the environment from looking static.
I wonder if this map still exists in some form?
Also known as Unreal Engine 4
Those are some mighty fine looking screenshots!
This feature gives mapping a new life. Hopefully there'll be at least one TROR map out by the end of the year.
And hey, that's my article you pasted there :P
