Yeah it looks a bit painful doesn't it. The new models for the recon troopers have a visible jetpack with the stream coming from that!

Thanks for your interest in Battlescape! Consider yourself on the list for the beta. I plan to begin the next testing session in a months' time, so hang in there for now.

I'll be sending out messages to yourself and others who have expressed interest closer to the date to ensure everyone is available and still willing to participate.

In the meantime stay tuned for more videos coming from the current testing round over the next couple of days!

Thanks for your interest in Battlescape.

Battlescape is built upon Lord Havok's Darkplaces engine, which is essentially a super-mega-major quake 1 engine mod. The same engine is used for Nexuiz, which is an open source Quake 3 style deathmatch game. Check them out on ModDB if you get the chance. I hope you'll join in on the open beta I'll be releasing shortly.
