Yes , there should be a development from one generation of ships to the next (Such as the Infinity and the Strident class) , the issue i have with those ships is they look nothing like any other of the UNSC ships. They are too thin and look too fragile. UNSC Ships are meant to look mass produced and sturdy.

Thinking about the ship FTL movement, would it be worth having very slow travel times? , i don't mean so slow its annoying but slow enough it would effect your reactions times in countering something. Say i sent 2 ships to a system not knowing there where 4 enemy ships, i could either try my luck and wait for reinforcements which might be a while , or retreat and waste more time heading back home (essentially putting those ships out of the fight for a while). Would lead to an interesting mix of strategic thinking , mixed with fast tactical combat. Might just be me that wants this mind.

Its running overclocked to 5ghz (I7 4970k), so i would have thought it would be fine as i am pretty sure that is every core but hay ho what do i know :b. Coles suggestions helped a lot though if anyone else reads this.

Also another question , will there be point defense systems as ships trying to save themselves by firing a mass of bullets at a missile (a bit like a future version of the phalanx) looks cool to me but that's more personal preference than anything and i suppose isnt required in a game with shields and the like.

I found a glitch with the standard hull , when the scale is set to 100 it comes up as ?/? on the sub system space , when it is below 100 it comes up as normal im guessing this has something to do with "at scale 100 200 and 300 ship space increases by 1" and is somehow screwing up the calculation.

I found a really weird bug not sure if it is supreme commander itself or the mod but the game paused itself and wouldn't unpause ,also the UI wouldn't respond but the buttons could be pushed. Hasn't happened before when i have played and hasn't happened since.

Thats illegal with halo due to microsofts terms and conditions of use , they have to make everything themselves (or use models made by other modders ) and i not sure about masseffect but i think it is the same kind of thing as well.
