I'm just a gypsy dude, livin free on the East Coast. I enjoy Warhammer 40k, BattleTech, and Philosophy. I hope to spread free thought amongst the people of the world. To be free is the ultimate goal. An I'm not talking anarchy here, I'm talking existentialism, where we make our choices bassed on our own thinking, not spoon-fed crap from mass media. Anyways, I like stuff like that, plus good music, so hear! hear! I shall be modding before the time for reveloution is nigh.

Never could figure out the flak cannons... based on what they do, you would think they would plow through fighters, corvettes, and frigates alike... but alas, in vanilla Homeworld 2, they suck so much chode... What are the flaks like in yer mod here?

Hey man, between 60 hours of work a week and learning as I go, I am doing what I can. Thanks for the support, mate! And no, it won't die. I don't care if I am 60 years old by time I release this, I will still always be working on this. And think of it this way, they announced STALKER in, what, 2001? Its only fitting for a mod of this scale to take a while too! :P Er, anyways, thank you both for the support. Believe it or not, I AM actually getting somewhere with this mod.

First trailer I saw was back in 2004 I thinks. It showed a bunch of video from the actual Chernobyl incident and liquidators, mixed in with a couple gameplay shots of shooting flesh with a heavily modified AR-10 (7.62 version of M16) in Military Warehouses or Agroprom... 'Twas what got me hooked to STALKER. Can't believe I waited 3 years to play the game after that. On another note, I like that trailer you link to. Shows the awesome AI and animation work they gave up.

Again, great job with the weapon posture and all. My only complaint is that I would put my finger above the trigger gaurd while reloading, for saftey reasons... but again in context, this can be easily over-looked. So far I am loving all of the work with the weapons, levels, textures... everything. I cannot wait to play this!

I actually like the weapon positioning. I never liked the fact that you can't see the stock in most First Person Shooters, considering that in real life you're eyes are about 3-6 inches behind the reciever... depending on the weapon of course. With this position it actually looks like the weapon is shouldered and ready to fire, instead of looking like you're holding the weapon in a half-assed limp wristed way which games call "hip shots." On that note, the left wrist is a bit awkward, I think that it should be straightened out a bit. But considering everything else, I can easily over-look that fact.

Looks good Dez, keep up the great work!

Er, sorry... I kinda rambled off there... The point of the story is thus: Respirator will be fixed... Chestplate has been fixed and all the belts and coolness will be added by way of bumb-mapping.

Well, thank you for the suggestions! You're right, the respirator is a bit small. Never thought about it too much before tbh. But for the look, I was going for that bucket helm look like that in the Art of Warhammer 40,000 book. Tomorrow I'll see if I can find the page I used for reference... And I'm sorry about the chest plate being totally fubar... but that is fixed now, as well as the waist. Sometimes Max can be finicky about how it moves vertices when combining objects... But as for the detail, that will be added later by way of bump-mapping. STALKER really finds its happy place when there are roughly 3-5000 triangles on the model, not 20mil like I had on my previous model. Trust me when I say it is REALLY hard to keep the triangle count down... well, for a beginner anyways. I do get what you're saying though, and I appreciate the feedback. You're doing a lot more than most other folks 'round here...

Now I have a question: Since you guys are doing all of the old school revival work, I have to ask what you guys have in-so-far as monsters go? Are you guys using the vanilla monsters, uncut monsters, or maybe adding a couple like the Tark and Rats? I merely ask out of idle curiosity... :)

The looting (Stashes and enemy weapons) will probably be a bit random, so you may or may not get good and bad stuff. But to counter this, there will be lots of enemies EVERY where you go. But I CAN garantee a few things: Being a Space Marine, chaos or not, means you can only get certain armours at certain ranks. This means that you start with the most basic form. Then, if you join either the ranks of SLaanesh or Nurgle, other armours will be open to you're use that wouldn't otherwise. Then, as you become a sargeant, later a champion, and later still lord, and later (after you worked your *** off) a chosen, new armours will be unlocked. Sargeants will be able to get armors a little better than upgraded simple armors and possibly raptor armour (if I can find a scripter who can help me out with this, anyways), champions will be able to get basic terminator armours and possibly the obliterator curse, lords will get upgraded termi and obliterator armours, and chosen... well thats best left unsaid.

None taken! But please, if you are going to leave some criticism, please be a bit more specific. If you tell me exactly what you think is wrong, it will be easier for me to correct the issue... And yes, the chest does suck chode. It looked good right up until I applied the boolean modifier to it, then all of the polys went haywire. I'm currently looking through the old files to try and get an idea of how I should go about remaking it. As for the helmet, please remember that the chapter that this mod focuses on, the Timbre Wolves, has been lost to the warp since just after the horus heresy. I made the model after some illustrations of the heresy era Space Marines, back when they had the bucket helms and such. But knowing that, what do you think is wrong with it?

Thanks man! One reason I am prefer realism over balance is that I love to shoot in real life, and I kinda take it personally when I am presented with an insult to my intelligence. *cough CoD cough* Although to be honest, I am interested to see how this turns out myself. In truth, there is no real way for me to KNOW how exactly .98 cal rocket propelled bullet would behave. But based on experience, I think I have a pretty good idea... and such things would not be pretty in real life.
