Garden of Oblivion

Game review

A beautiful, if short game with simplistic puzzles and some unique concepts. I quite enjoyed Garden of Oblivion. While there's nothing terribly difficult about them, the addition of puzzles and some light navigation keep this from just being a visual novel. There's really not much to complain about here, though I would have liked for there to be more of it. In a way, the game's length is also a strong point, because it doesn't outstay its welcome. Solving a few jigsaw puzzles kept things interesting, but I would have gotten tired of them eventually. As for bugs, the game will sometimes repeat messages unnecessarily at times, and while that's not usually a big deal (exiting and reentering a room will at time repeat something), I did find it a bit odd I was able to trigger a conversation that gives a key item over and over again. Harmless, but noteworthy. Ultimately, you've no real reason not to give Garden of Oblivion a try. It's one of the better short indie games I've played this year.
