Looks gorgeous in the SAGE engine. They really should had stuck to this art style. I still plays C&C3; and KW to this day, and I still admire how realistic the flames and explosions looked in this version of the engine, also the destroyed units bounce effect, oh yeah baby.

The only other RTS game I saw with this kind of realistic detail was Starcraft 2. But it was made by Dustin Browder, who also made Red Alert 2 and Generals.

If you guys want a new crossover mod for C&C, you got a couple options. This goes to the creator too, you can help either of these two mods as you please.

C&C: The Vortex: a new cross over mod just like All Star in ZH, but all the factions will be broken up into their own factions, with a total of 15 factions including some random factions the creator included. The mod just released an alpha version with both GDI and NOD, development is slow. The creator already implemented all of the TW3 and RA3 stuff, but there are still a lot of limitations.

C&C Alternate Universe: a cross over mod on RA3. The creator already implemented TW3 stuff into the RA3 engine. That mod is in active development.

Until those two mods get to perfect condition, I will play this mod for now

what will the epic units for the RA3 sides? I know Japan has that Shogun Executioner, what about Soviet and Allied? If you don't have any idea, here is mine:

Soviet: A giant Tesla tank that shoot balls of lighting energy.

Allied: A giant battle fortress IFV (like in RA2) that can holds up to 10 units, with a Spectrum/Prism beam as the main cannon.

Also, I love seeing mod teams working together. A person you should contact is flashknight33, he is making basically the same kind of mod but for Generals Zero Hour, name is C&C: The Vortex. He plans to have at least 15 factions in his mod, all the C&C factions plus his own original factions. You should work him because you are making the same thing but in RA3/SAGE 2.0. Generals engine is crappy, can't handle a lot of polygons, and the game lags when there is a lot of stuff in game. SAGE2.0 is an excellent engine, EA wasted it with RA3 and C&C4; like how they always does nowadays. With a PC that has decent specs, someone can make a really nice looking mod on RA3. The graphic would look very realistic and gorgeous.

So they have a crossover of C&C in Red Alert 3 now.

I think right now people with lower specs PC can download this mod for a crossover experience, while people with high end spec PC can download the crossover mod for Red Alert 3. SAGE 2.0 does look glorious when it is modded well. EA wasted their own great engine with RA3 and C&C4;.

I mean, look at the Generals Evoluion mod for RA3, WOW!!! The team behind it sure put a lot of work on it and it look exactly like Generals but with modern graphics. The graphics and environment looks too realistic. It also captured all the small details that Generals had.

Why not work with the team behind General Evolution and bring Generals stuff to this mod as well? Then we have stuff from all three universes fighting each other in the glorious SAGE 2.0 engine.

I think the creator is just waiting until all the SC2 expansion are released. He said on the forum that he is waiting for Heart of Swarm, which released already, now Legacy of the Void is announced and will be released soon. Also I think he might be secretly building the mod without updating anything to avoid any lawsuits, which is a smart move if you are to avoid dealing with EA's ********.

A suggestion for this mod to the creator if you are reading this:
make this mod a crossover with all the C&C factions. I had been wanting to see a crossover in 3D for years. Forget about EA's rule of restricting models outside of their game, EA doesn't even deserve to be respected anymore for what they did to C&C, and I'm sure Blizzard won't mind, who knows, maybe Dustin Browder would even appreciate your work. Since he had a history with C&C.

Example:
I had been thinking of recreating the Traveler-59 Prodigy(from C&C3;:KW) in SC2 and it would work flawlessly if I knew how to make maps. The model is obviously the Protoss Stalker, than you give it Nova's mind control(her version is controlling one at a time until relinquish control, sounds familiar?), make it able to control buildings. Then you give it the Infestor's Parasite and make it an AOE spell(controlling a unit for a limited time, with AOE, you can control a small group of units), keep the original Blink, and give it Mass Recall. Now we have a perfect reproduction of a C&C 3 unit.

You can also use the modified Nova mind control and make Yuri Prime.

Also make sure to put in all the good old C&C music, heh heh.

but Mashup has more modes, and the author even successfully put in EVA and Cabal as announcer for GDI and NOD.

the bad thing about Mashup right now is it uses the outdated NPatch, but it will be fixed if 3.0 of Mashup comes out, which the authors say will be using ARES. It would really be an "updated" Reloaded then.

oh no, I don't suggest you to mirror ideas for SW. These three generals are originally planned to appear as playable generals in ZH, but was scrapped because they were too overpowered(except Leang but she has all three bases and only appears as the final boss for Challenge), mods such as SW only did their own take on what these three generals should be like. you can do it too, but do it differently. plus it is won't be too much work since they are only upgrades to enhance their respective side's arsenal.

Will General Ironside, General Mohmar, and General Leang appear as one of the choices? I played Shockwave and Ironside is armor, Mohmar(Deathstrike) is junk recycle, and Leang were the artillery and special weapons.

What do you plan to make them specializes in if they will be made available to play?

Also what about the RA sides, they are the only ones that I can't come up with sub-factions. Maybe a mixture of RA1, RA2, and RA3 units?

Each Generals sides have their respective generals to choose, but only one can be chosen per game. This is a tier 3/4 upgrade, the player of the General sides still starts with a balanced army, they get the benefit of that general after the selection.

I guess then you are forced to stay within this engine. This reminded me, I wonder how is the creator of Renegade X doing right now. (it is a remake of Renegade, which is made possibly without EA's permission)

you mentioned serveal times in the image that some abilities will not be available due to limitations of an older SAGE engine.

Have you tried working this project on the Spring engine? It is basically a free engine that was developed to create RTS games.

Could be useful if General's SAGE engine ever stops you from continuing this project.

well it is your mod after all, whatever you do to make it fun :D

The Dune factions can be neutral buildings in some maps available to capture, but like I said, it is not the main thing to worry about right now. When you did decide to do Dune stuff, make sure to make the Ixian projector bug present(holograms that actually do damage to units but disappears after taking 1 damage), it is fun.

I think it would be more fun to have cross universe cross tech units but it is still your call lol.

How would the stolen tech units be made?

15 factions means 15x15=225 stolen tech units.

hmm, the main menu is too GDI oriented. It would be better to have something that represents all the factions.

since it is called "the vortex", why not have a wild vortex effect pulling in all the faction logo or something?

same thing, makes tanks invincible for a while, and instant kill infantries. Nod's make tanks go stealth ability in C&C 3 does the same thing to infantry.
