9. Teleportation trap. I don't think that trap is very intutive. Just what I think.

I've had the idea of making a cube map for awhile now, and I was kinda disapointed at this "mod". I don't like being mean, so I don't want to hurt you, or your future in creating games. The mod created more pain than pleasure.

Could I use your textures for my map that I've been working on for 7 months now? It's titled, mdg_thecube and it's for HL2DM. I'd really appricate it if you would let me. It's ok if you don't though, because I've made the room with all brushes.

These are just a few things I think you should fix. Don't take them offensive in any way please, just helping out a fellow mod dev.

1. Ladders. These ladders are a pain, and I know it's not your fault. The only way I see that you could fix them is by, a. make the doors and rooms bigger, thus fixing the ladder issue, b. change the mod to css and make func_ladder textures on the walls.
2. Shoe. The shoe is a grenade, fix that please. Also, I would like the shoe to respawn faster, or have infinite ammo for it.
3. Traps. Many traps (such as the spikes and mesh cutter "swinging wire trap ") are really glitchy. The mesh cutter crashes servers if the player enters on the side the mesh spawns. The spikes are badly placed, as in, they hover over the walls. I would reconmend just redoing those traps, and go for another apporch to them.
4. Teleportation. During my play, I was randomly teleported around. I know you can't code endless rooms, but at least make a "fake" room that teleports you to a real "inside" room. A lot of times I was teleported into other players and could not move.
5. Cube. The size of the cube is really small, add more rooms and traps.
6. The doors. The doors open one piece at a time. I know you can make it so when you open one side output the other door to open with t.
7. Menu. The background is fine with me, but try removing that hud when you take the screenshot (mat_enablehud 1, I think).
8. Ending. For the amount of effort I put into getting into the ending, I felt kinda ripped-off. Make a better ending please. Fix the sounds as well, as they are very low quality. Hell, I can record them for you if you want me too.

That's all the problems I've encountered so far.

No, the mod will not work with GMod 9.0.4. This mod is only for GMod 10.

There will be multiplayer. It will most likely be Aliens vs. Humans. The only main difference in the Aliens in multiplayer from singleplayer is the weapons. Humans and Aliens will have the sam weapons in multiplayer.
As posted at the top here is the list of multiplayer modes.

A coop type mission. You have to escort the all the World Leaders to safety, without letting anyone die.

...Co-Op Mode

Play co-op missions from either one of the three single player modes or 8 other co-op designed maps.

I would use that, but I've been busy and I haven't gotten the chance to even work one bit on the mod. I just hope it doesn't die off...like many have. I think we are the only ones that have gotten this far modding a World of the Wars mod.

Answer #1: Yes.

Answer #2: We don't know. That might be next to impossible todo with Source, but we will try.

Answer #3: Yes. All the sounds from the movie will be implemented. The story won't.

The mod will have it's own story. Nothing from the movie will be on this mod. The movie is too short to be made into a game, and we wouldn't be able to apply twists. In other words, you would know how it would end, therefor it would suck. The next update will explain all of this.
All the sounds form the movie, however, will be in the mod.
The designs of the Tripod and Aliens are loosly based on the movie. We want it to be unique, so the models will not look just like the movie.

Remember, the book and the movie are going to be used. Not just the movie.

It's been awhile since I've spoken here, and I'm sorry for that. If anyone was wondering where I was, I was working on MGSP.net. It's my own company and the company that will be presenting this mod to you.

Production
The production of the mod mayb seem a bit slow, and I will admit it has been lately. I just want everyone to know that this is a big project, and it will not die. We are currently working on a website and skinning the current models. I will post an update when we are finished.

Mod Team
Our old mod team has gone inactive (except for me) this is because we all have busy schedules and was feeling that this project was a little too big. Not to meantion we need alot more help. So what justin7942163 and me did was gather up a whole new team....and hope to bring back the others as well. I will alos update you on the status of that mission.

Modification Information
Many question I have to answer, so I will do my best. The tripod's design and usage in the mod is raising alot of questions.

Question #1: "How big is the tripod? Will it be the size of the strider in Half-Life 2?"
Answer #1: The tripod will be about 10 times as tall as the normal sized character in Half-Life 2. So yea, the tripod is alot bigger than the strider.

Question #2: "Will the tripods be able to snatch humans?"
Answer #2: No, this would be way to hard to code. I'll admit Source would be able to handle this kind of thing, but as of now I don't expect it to be part of the game.

Question #3: "Are the maps going to have hiding spots for the humans?"
Answer #3: Yes, lots of them, for they are a big part of the gameplay.

Question #4: "Will the tripods have sheilds? And if they do, how would the humans attack them?"
Answer #4: Yes they will, and you will not be able to attack the tripods early in the game. However, you can attack them later into the game, by aquiring some alien arsnal. The alien's weapons will be annoucned in the upcoming update.

Question #5: "How many vehicles and weapons will you be able to use?"
Answer #5: There are 4 comfirmed vehicles that you can drive: Tank, Helicoptor, Jeep, and a truck. There is a rumor going around about the tripod's being able to be driven. This rumor could be true, but I'm going to tell you all about it in the next update. There are about 9 comfirmed/planned weapons you can use: Baseball bat, magnum, sawed-off shotgun, axe, m4a1, xm-8 assault rifle, frag-grenade, rocket launcher, and the ak47. Don't forget about the slew of stolen alien weapons!

Question #6: "How soon will this mod be released, I want it now!"
Answer #6: The mod release date has not been set, please wait, you know you will.

Question #7: "How many chapters and levels is this mod planning to have?"
Answer #7: Good question, but we are not able to answer as of now. There is about 4 chapters already sketched down on the story-board, but they are yet to be finalized. I will get back to you on this.

AntiSocialKindaGuy - Yes it is based off the book, some of the movie tho, but mostly of our own ideas.

PhoenixRisinG - We are currently making our of design of the tripod, the model is almost done and I will release it.

DESTROYER - Wow...what a small world, Vengadragon made that and said it was original, so I just came up with a name for it...I'll change the name to it's real name thanks.

Rybry - It's based on modern day.

WarHawk, thats a great idea! I'll have to see what we can do on that assasination mode. I'll have to add that when we get a good coder going. Also this mod is different from the others, becuase this one is based on the movie more than the book. And by what I can tell the other mods are not being worked on or dropped. Check by this mod every so often I'm thinking about putting some screens.
