Too bad, this had so much potential.
That's great pals!
Currently there's any limit to the amount of turrets a ship can have?
I think the are fine, like the contrast between the ships and the stations. However the texture seems to be to bright.
To the matter, does the stations spew fighters in battle? Can big ships dock into it for repairs/what not?
Will they have some of those devilishly sexy turrets?
Do you by any chances have the assets still lying around?
Besides the really awesome turrets are you going to have fixed weapons inside the hull? Like the MAC guns from Halo lore?
To no end.
I'll try to give it a try. Mostly out of economic issues, not that I have not the money, but my country have controlled exchange, each time I want to buy something on dollars/euros I have ask permission to the government.
Didn't try it. Saw a lot of videos on the web and it looked definitively interesting.
In that case I demand you "Take me to the ship Graveyard at Karos"
PD. I have IG2 remake for Android on my tablet. Good old game indeed.
Lets hope there's an indie option/substitute when it comes to that.
Well to be honest the game is about 40% done now, so it's about 20~25 years left now.
Bay12games.com there's info about it for those that want to know more.
About the possibilities, I think you have a sensible approach, once the core is done you can move onto bigger things. Using a tablet as a command console of a capital ship sure sounds like a neat idea, I can see people putting them on the couch arm, pressing the buttons and shouting commands in the imaginary bridge of a living room.
Or using Oculus Rift(that's the name) to see from a fighter cockpit perspective.
Definitively you will break the mold. Even more so if you actually manage to squeeze a good grand campaign map in there.
I tend to think games this days do not innovate and actually are having less and less options for you, despite technology keep going forward and in theory that should allow games to become bigger and complex without being overwhelming. Instead we see a constant thread of streamlining everything, and making everything MMO with a focus in instant gratification aimed to the wide population of kids (and not so kids) with attention deficit.. look a butterfly! what was I saying.
Oh yeah, a lot of games today focus on quick, easy, cheap thrills that get old fast and thus discarded. Hence most companies put only so much effort into them, but then it becomes a self perpetual spiral downwards to mediocrity.
I truly believe that options, in the case of tactical and/or strategy games are key to achieve a maximum potential. Modern strategy games tend to put a lot of attention to graphics and mp (looking at you TW)and less and less attention to you know, tactics and strategy, without forgetting about the little details that give a game it's soul.
I could go on ranting for hours but I'm sure that would be certainly boring for all. So I'll cut it here by saying this game is shaping up really great and I'm looking forward to play it, no matter how much time is needed.
Yup, look at Dwarf Fortress, Toady has a dev plan of around 40 years or more, and people is waiting patiently, btw he just released a new version for those that didn't know.
You know, when you release the game and I muster the money to buy it, I might as well never sleep again, my fiancée will probably hate your guts too.
Was missing your updates.
They do, but only as an afterthought perhaps. Little details like that are what separates a good mod/game from a great one.
This is golden!
Haven't you thought about making things even more interesting like having bowmen and crossbow men as separated units differentiated by resources needed, range, rate of fire and attack?
Or in the case of the Japanase have ashigaru and samurai units apart? (i.e. cheap food and wood yari ashigaru vs expensive food/wood and gold yari samurai)
Simply wow! This is marvelous!
Pss.. I already won it AND playing solo... in my dreams :)
Thanks for the good work!
Excellent! It's wonderful news!
I hope BFG finally gets the mod it deserves since GW is too pants in the head retarded to try to do a video game for it.
Are those gameplay screens? Which rig do you use then (to try to recreate it). Really awesome!
Hope he's okay and come back soon.
Holly canoli... that's really an awesome UI.
The images a the upper right corner get created automatically from the ship model or are a separated image?
I'm in love with the attention to detail of this game. For example the rotating and aiming turrets, that alone sets it apart from most other games.
Absolutely wonderful! It's refreshing to see common sense on a game developer in this day and age.
