Phew... Good thing that apart from reinstalling all my hardware i had this bright idea to install DX redist package. But i just can't help but wonder. Is it so hard or time consuming to add support for DX older than DX 11 into both win8 and 10? Why make things harder for the end user?
Strange works fine for me. Try to hit the download button few times in a row or wait for about 30 minutes for the servers to cool down.

Downloaded, played and still trying to pick my jaw up from the floor. Try them hd models. Some are different enough to make you hate them at first glance but after some time you get used to them.
Started over 5 times to check this issue. Around 7 military at 'bridge' and about 5 at 'garbage outpost'.
Sometimes a few more move in from garbage.
Its out of the map altogether. It was not in Dark Valley. And its not where the marker shows its supposed to be. Tried to find it with binoculars to no avail.

I think you misunderstood him. I think hea means that hi wants to get best gear as he can before going on with the story than completely ignoring it.
It's not that its easier. Hell or even Master difficulty is about equal chances. In other words: enemies have the same damage immunities, hit pobability, weapon damage and health as player.
I don't really have time to write an detailed report... Those aren't game breaking. If sombody sees them as major PItA then they are free to note them down. You just have to look for them (items, NPCs) harder wich means more through exploring. I have a great idea. How about completly removing quest markers and replacing them with text information about items, NPCs whereabouts in quests descriptions?
To be precise:
Go to the game directory: x:\xxx\Stlker - ShOC\gamedata\config
Edit "system.ltx" with notepad find, line:
"max_weight =" edit to your liking.
Then in gamedata\config\creatures
edit actor.ltx with notepad, find lines:
"max_item_mass =" and "max_walk_weight ="
edit them to your likng but remember that "max_walk_weight =" value must be higher than "max_item_mass =" and
"max_item_mass =" must be equal to "max_weight =".
Played 30 minutes so far.
1. Companion system. I chose to storm the machine yard alone and then made Foxes guys join me via the system. In effect i had almost the same man power as if i teamed with them from the beginning and got all those rewards as if i did it alone.
2. Loot contrary to mod description weapons on the corpses have moderate conditions. Most of the time they have about 50 precent damage or less.
3. Weapons behaviour is hust to my taste. Hostiles drop like flies but on the other side its also easy to get yourself killed. It's mostly about the reaction time, combat skills and loads of luck.
But i also has some problems. Such as:
1. Quest indicators are sometimes incorrectly palced. Like the infamous Nimble Suit quest.
2. Loot is sometimes unrealistic. Too much artifacts, ammo, weapons. I recon that NPC would sell spare inventory than keep it until they specifically meet you to trade it with.
Theres some medical supplies in Sids bunker box, 240 rounds for aks74u in the box close to Fox and an aks74u rifle at the attic of the building behind Fox not to mention merc suit on the attic of the building next to the one where aks74u is locted.
How to fix quest marker for "Find perfected suit" from Nimble?
You know you can disable that overlay right. Just go to AMK settings from Main Menu while ingame.
I can confirm it work on 1.0006. And its GOG version (quite problematic to mode fro some).
Working like a charm 45 minutes left. Cant wait to play it.

Donloade and tried the main env pack. 40 -60 FPS and some "normal" x-ray stuttering. Downlading the maddons now. I expect at least 20 FPS when everything will be set up.
Dued its for 1.0004 version of ShoC. If yo have Steam or retail patched to 1.0006 it will not work. Clean AA 2 is for 1.0006 but merged with this mod it reverts to 1.0004. Using ShoC higer than 1.0004 will CTD your game.
How about uploading the newest patch to moddb. You know to have everything needed to run the mod in one place? Also long time no see VectorIV. I'm visiting cause i think of replaying Generals with some good mods and your's on top of the list.

Its not really designed to feel like classic doom. There are other mods made for this style of play.
