My name is Tom, I’m the Creator and Lead Designer of the Revenge of Revan Mod. I’m a big fan of games and how they can take stories and construct them into an interactive experience.

A quick update- i have 5-7 hours of game play in alpha
Just wanted to stop by and give you all a quick update
Have been working on 2 modules the past few days in regards to game building and I have gone back to edit and add more dialogue for the Demo section of the game. 7 modules of dialogue have been looked over and edited and expanded where it was needed.
Also we are now using a dialogue writing formula or system - basically a way to keep the writing from different writers to be all inconstant.
Its still early in it's use so I don't want to say to much but from what I have experienced- it has made writing scenes much easier.

Yes this is the most recent public build.
We have developer builds but they are for testing are have not gone through the proper bug testing plus, we are constantly tweaking.
The reason why moddb won't allow them to upload them is because its illegal.
The restrictions are due to kotor1 = bioware, and kotor2 = obsidian. They are two different dev companies. Now kotor2 does have a good deal of the kotor1 assets in the area of characters, weapons, and items but not modules/maps. Since they are 2 different dev companies - any merging from one or the other is porting and illegal. I know it sucks but thats the law.
I can't use any map/modules from kotor1, I can only use the assets from kotor2- sad to say. The planets have been selected based on what assets can be used but this doesn't mean we can't have NPCs talking about events from past kotor games or even HoloNet news articles mentioning these planets which could hint to how past events in kotor1/2 shaped the planets now.
The choices Revan made during those wars and their impact, will very much show up in one way or another since the Mandalorian Wars created the events of kotor1 and kotor2, so it would be great to bring things full circle and address this topic/theme.
Thats spring 2015, Yeah I would hope the full game is out by then.
There might be a mention of a certain slavery selling organization - which starts with a - C.
As for the characters from the comics, most likely not since I have no idea who is alive or dead. I don't want to conflict with any future comics where they are using those characters.
The Mod is very much alive. I have flown to California in look of work.
Since I'm away from my home desktop, using my bro's Mac, I can only do some writing. Will be back to modding content in a few weeks. :-)
I agree, seeing a trails for a future Jedi would be great to see in a game but there won't be any actual Formal ones in RoR. It's more like learn on the job experience for the Pc.
Lehon will not be in the game. One large reason is because there is nothing in kotor2 assets/maps which could mimic the planet's wildlife.
I wish i could say what the eye of the force is,..but then it would be a spoiler. =(

Actually, Discreet is correct. You do not have to be 100% light side or dark side to unlock such things.
Actually I don't plan to have any reward for being 100% LS/DS (other than what is built into kotor2's vanilla game).
I feel the whole reward being 100% one side or the other, actually damages the player's experience since it removes choice. Players choose a choice because it helps them be high level LS/DS since this will give you a bonus- this is just plain bad design.
Players should be making choices based on how they feel about the situation not what it will give them in the area of rewards. RPGs should be about experiencing the adventure, seeing how your actions affect others around you as well as your self.
RoR will allow you to play the honorable Jedi as well as the Dark Jedi and everything in between....A Light side choice does not always mean a happy ending for a quest, RoR will build on kotor2's grey view of the galaxy...
RoR Update 4/13/2013
About a week ago, I came across two programs which I believe will change RoR for the better. I will be discussing one of the two programs since the second is still being tested for its benefits.

This program is a professional tool for story and game design, aimed towards non-linear storytelling.
For the past week and for the rest of April, I will be placing all the documents and assets and more into this program. I have already developed a system for Quest Building /Dlg which will work perfect with RoR.
I demo the new design/layout to JediExile last night ,thanks google+ for screen share =).

We have started to test a few more modules and writing more scenes for the game.
I hope to increase the updates as we move toward spring.
On a side note- I was involve in the Global Game Jam this past weekend.

Our team of 6 built a game called ""Panic Cycle"
Its free to download - plus there are about 35,000 other free games that were created during the weekend- globally

I'm actually writing some more RoR website Profiles as I type this.
I would love to show some video but we have been doing writing and building but nothing polished enough for a video.
Just wanted to let you know i just renewed the domain for www.Revengeofrevan 's website but since I missed the renewal you will see that the website will have some generic webpage.
Don't panic, I renewed it, but i think it will take 24 hours to connect the site back to the domain.

Going well. New Writer is testing some new content. The holidays have slow things a bit but we are still working. =)
The active team is small. We have individuals who might work on certain items but once that's done they are not building any content. We just added 2 new writers to the team and plan to add more. They are right now reading over the RoR story bible and other docs in the Writer Package. I'm answering any question and tweaking the Doc. The team will be growing in the area of writers who will be working throughout the entire production of the project.
I want to just say to those who sent messages about writing or VO work, I haven't responded in some cases since I want to have the Story bible finish so I can talk with you about the project and have something solid for our future conversation on wither the project is something you would like to be part of.

Matching the music to the images and text was well done.
The Story Bible for RoR is being reviewed and tweaked. This document will be the core to the writers so they understand the whole story, themes, tone, and characters.
When this is finished and being used, building content will increase in speed.
Nothing is wrong with your install.
The Mod only has a few human VO.
We are still reworking the dialogue lines for some of the human characters and didn't want to have the voice actors re do the lines over and over. :-)

The ancient droid will talk through alien VO or in the droid terms Slave languages just as it did in kotor1 but with Subtitles.
