moar RAM. i run it smoothly on a laptop on full HD with a ****** 5650
If you want the initial load to last less, get a SSD, or make a RAID 0 array.

i played recon and it went very smoothly for me. An AK-74 with a silencer, BP AP rounds, and a few defensive grenades is all i needed. It did take me 10 tries though.
dave, sounds like an overheating videocard.
Clean your system of dust and ensure proper ventialation.
go into the forum section, suggestion thread. write this post over there.
A way to fix this would be to make ammo dirt cheap.
Furthermore, did you install the patch? the limit is lowered to 75% quality.
Even if i were desperate i wouldn't accept a gun in a bad condition, it is downright dangerous. Sure, you can cannibalise it for spares. But this means a new economy script that would give you virtually nothing for bad stuff, for instance a flat 30RUB.
Would you pay for damaged **** you don't really want? no, me neither.
still interested in those text files? PM me so we can work something out. e-mail or pastebin perhaps.
at the moment there are some new weapons to find, but probably as the mod will grow there will be other goodies, too.
Stalker Redux resolves this by having tracer and non-tracer rounds. This kind of complicates matters.
If i were a trained sniper, i would prefer rounds without phosphorous to prevent revealing my position.
There are lots of problems with ammunition, it is a delicate issue and a balance must be struck between playability and realism.
no offence, but if there is no lightsource nearby, nights ARE pitch black.
For stamina see FAQ 18-19, and install patch 1
did you modify actor.ltx?
do you see Patch1 with grey text in the lower-right corner of the MISERY plaque in the backgorund picture of the main menu? (correct install)
And regarding to the gun sights: what screen resolution do you have?
If it is a 16:9 or 16:10, I suspect an incorrect installation of some sort.
go to my documents\stalker cop\ .
delete user.ltx
start the game again and reconfigure the game options.
It may be possible that you do not have enough free RAM. Close all applications possible and try again.
I wouldn't worry about the VRAM that much, but the RAM is a problem. I've seen memory usage going arround 2.1GB with this mod.
Since XP doesn't handle large page allocation very well, and you are kind of limited to 3GB usable: Houston, we have a problem.
Close everything in background, inessential services included.
Run the game on static lighting (dx8), reduce texture quality, disable detailed textures.
I'm surprised you can run this mod on that rig at all.
If anything, running under Win7-64 with 6-8GB of RAM will improve things drastically. (64bit needs ~1.4x memory by default).
Upgrading your videocard first won't make a difference in this particular case.
confirmed unaligned mosin-nagant sights. The latter is an animation problem, a bit more difficult to fix.
understand that every time somebody attempts a cathedralist approach to modding (includes major overhauls) there will be many dissatisfied. One solution is to make everything as modular as possible, but that takes time, and in this case it doesn't fit with the mod concept.
Try running with a 20kg backpack ALL day, having eaten 2 rather stale tuna fish cans, and dodging crappy anomalies and invisible radiation. Add 4-6 hours of sleep in the cold on some lice infested matress. I dare you to shoot accurately at a target @200m (90% of combat).
I'm telling you that after only 1h of carrying cement sacks, you're worthless, both physically and mentally.
Want you to know that this moddb account was made especially to thank you.
It is only a week ago when I found out about MISERY and your other mods thanks to the 2011 nominations.
I was anticipating the hardcore-realism mod Redux v2.0, but I might just think that this could be *the* mod. After so much effort, I refuse to believe the contrary.
rock on.
