Did you remove the game entirely and start again? That is what you must do.

Great, thank you very much!
Please update your description if this also works with LAR or not as people will ask.
EDIT: I just took a quick look and it would require some merging, so it wont work straight away.
You have PRM weapon mod installed, LAR is not compatible with it.
EDIT: Also, there is no LAR extended on google drive... There is DCE (which is DC extended) and LAR does not work with it at all.
Reinstall everything. Remove LADC from your drive and start fresh. Follow my instructions exactly and it will work.
NPC name changes will only appear when starting a new game. The names get baked into current saves.
There is no setting in game, you would need to dig through the files to reverse engineer it.
I am not really sure then what you mean by flickering on and off, I have never seen that happen.
OK, understood. I will be starting a new game then to try as well.
You can play around with the settings in the console. I use similar settings from what the addon "Brighter Lost Alpha" suggests.
r2_sun_lumscale 1.2
r2_sun_lumscale_amb 1.4
r2_sun_lumscale_hemi 1.2
r2_tonemap_lowlum 0.8
You can change these settings in the "appdata/user.ltx" as well. I typically just use the console though, so I can see changes real time. It will save your new settings in the ltx as well after you hit enter in the console.
Just a FYI, if you did not realize, the dreams are set to appear after certain conditions are met. For instance, there are 2 dreams that will start to appear after you rescue fox.
The helicopter and red sky dream. Check out the lines under the below 2 headers in the "dream.ltx."
[regular_dream2]
[regular_dream5]
So, dreams only start to appear after you rescue fox. Testing it before that will always show the black screen... Just the plain NPP dream does not have a condition (cond) set though in this file. I have a feeling that is why the NPP dream may still appear and could be tied to a script.
You will also only be able to test anything changed in this file after a new game unfortunately. Because if you already passed the met condition, it is baked in the save.
Hi Fetzip,
Do you mean "gamedata\config\lost_alpha\sleeping" folder? As there is no dream folder. In the sleeping folder, there is a dream.ltx though. If so, that is the one I have edited with the probabilities all set to 0, but I still see the NPP dream.
While they are not fully designed for vehicles, one can navigate the terrain in most of the maps. I have numerous paths I take on all the maps and leave cars in a few strategic positions across the entire world for any "blocks."
Hi Fetzip and FYI for Morbid... Just so on the same page, the few general "dream" sequences when you sleep are part of all versions of LA (not to be confused with some of the illuminati scenes that used to be mixed in). I am actually not sure there is a way to "fully" remove the sleep dreams. I have tried numerous suggestions and still have one or two that pop up, even though I made their % chance in the LTX's 0... So I guess they are script controlled. I could be wrong, or just missing something though.
I checked the couple dream scripts out as well and I do not see how to go about changing it there. So all in all, as morbid says may have to "bite the bullet," until someone else can do some more testing, etc.
Ensure you are using the updated launcher from LAR. If it crashes again, go to the pastebin patch notes link and see how to bypass the launcher. If it still crashes after bypassing it, you installed incorrectly.
I cant remember 100%, but I think if you play on a higher level difficulty (i.e. master) those map spots do not appear. If that is not the case, you can probably google how to return them. It would most likely be the same files as SOC or the other games you would need to edit.
So everything still tells me you are just missing a step with the installation, but you said it happens with just normal DC as well? So if you install just DC, then use the launcher from LAR (overwriting the one in the folder) it still crashes?
Unfortunately that doesn't tell me anything engine related. That crash log came about when you bypassed launcher?? Because that log eludes to the launcher itself.
Is there a crash log? Check here:
X:\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha DC\appdata\logs
Put it up on a pastebin so I can look at it if there is one, ty.
I didn't realize it had all those other mod requirements... Probably will take a little time to reverse engineer it to work with vanilla DC and LAR then.
Did you try to bypass the launcher and see if it starts up?
You are still missing something then... Typically a configurator crash on start up means you did not copy the newer version over.
2 other things to try:
Do not to install it on your primary HD (i.e. where windows is installed), then follow all steps again.
Bypass the launcher and see if it starts up. How to do so is in the patch notes pastebin link. If it crashes when doing that, you 100% still did not install something correctly then.
Unfortunately, you did not follow them if it crashes on startup. Reinstall (making sure no mods are selected) and ensure to also use the included configurator and copy everything in the folders over, etc.
Once the car pack is released, anyone is welcome to make it compatible with LAR, if it is not off the bat.
Really well done, I love that the dials actually work on the dashboards! LOL at driving the bus as well!
You did not fully read the instructions or patch notes... LAR is not compatible with PRM (that error only appears when using PRM with LAR), it is mentioned multiple times.
I still think you are not using the updated launcher, or something else is not installed correctly... In any case, please see the instructions on how to bypass the launcher in my patch notes. If there is an error on startup that way, you installed incorrectly.
That error is not really helpful... and what "fixes" did you try?
First thing, are you playing DC/LAR or DCE? If DCE, I cannot help. If using DC/LAR are you using the newest launcher included in LAR?
You can disable headbob in the options.
Skill points into endurance will help to increase run speed slightly along with carry weight. There are so many options to alleviate encumbrance, through weapon/armor mods and artifacts.
Then you can equip artifacts that have stamina modifiers as well, for slight run speed and stamina regen.
That is really nuts!
