Well, then I say, put up a mailing list with as much fans as possible and pretend to shut down this mod and this page completely. And in secret, this mod may live on. And us would be kept informed about it's progress by said mailing list.
I know, it's easy to talk from the safe end, and in the end you are the ones who knows what is the best solution. Just a proposal.
And if WB is watching: *Jedi mode* This isn't the mod you're looking for.
Yes, I think such an informative paper would help big. Also with some examples of the visual quality of the mod. So we could spread such document, saving time and raising greater interest than just "Save MERP".. because outsiders can't really understand what that means I guess. :/
I would be interested in which way you received that C&D letter. By e-mail? I wonder to whom this letter has been sent. If it was sent to any e-mail adress of yours.. well, then they don't know anything useful about you right? no address, no further contact data.
And how do they exactly want to sue a group of individuals of whom they hardly know any real names, that is furthermore not even a corporate entity and not registred in any country. Under which law could they do such a lawsuit?
I don't get this. Could somebody with legal knowledge clear this a bit up?

If WB were smart, they would hire the whole team and let them build a MERP game with their financial ressources and release it. This game would be a best seller, bringing them enourmous profits..

No.. this was an invention by PJ for the movie, alongside the Elvish army at Helms Deep.. in the book, Eomer was at the Hornburg right from the beginning, while only men of Rohan defend it. The force that rescues the besieged is a host of infantry led by Erkenbrand and entered the Deep from the west. :)
i am afraid there won't be any elves at Helms Deep.. they stick to the book, where no help from Lorien was sent to Rohan.

This mod fills an urgently needed space in the gaming scene, and therefore it will be one of the most appreciated gaming experiences ever. AND WILL NOT COST A PENNY. It's a dream coming true.
