Cybrans have direct combat capabilities in the means of firepower....they just luck survivability (armor, health-points) ;)

this is not something new...of course when you're introducing SO many new units, factions tend to get broaden for variety reasons ;)
which is good, if you keep it creative...and you can top it off, with some specialized units :)
IMAZOMBIE, if the UEF have both firepower and health, then who cares about speed? you could just order the unit and kill anything on its path ;) UEF usually had range and health, with decent firepower...
anyway, I'm not going all over it again, and again, as I stated before, it's nice when you make the game more diverse, and you give the player more choices to win his opponent...more strategies, more complex...think of the factions as real armies, wouldn't they evolve/adapt to a new threat? of course... there you have it!
you keep discussing things when you haven't seen half of the units that will be part of this mod...and let alone their true abilities...
The intention of these charts were to discuss the cybran experimentals between the CYBRAN EXPERIMENTALS...not with other factions....as Avitus said beofre, compare each factions chart independently! cybran xp's with cybran xp's etc.... their role etc....not the monkeylord with the fatboy, or this with that....this kind of balance will be done at the alpha testing....
Now, as for the colossus etc, yeah I loved sending in two colossus and simply ending games too...amazing isn't it ? and don't tell me it wasn't possible, because it was my favorite unit too in SC1...the only thing you had to do was build it, and just send it towards the enemy base...the end!
game-ender XP's will take place, BUT each faction's will have different attributes ;)
and if the faction's attributes do not fit with your "taste" then state it....but bear in mind...whatever you're going to say IS SUBJECTIVE! because all of us have our own taste aswell ;)
to further the conversation into more detail, my favorite faction in SC1 was Aeon, because of the SHEER damage of their units...NOTHING ELSE....in SC1:FA it was the same thing but this time with Seraphim.....SHEER F@CKIN DAMAGE...factions tend to change role between sequels/prequels/mods....In SC1 they Cybran might be mobile etc etc etc....In Revamp, we "might" wanted to give them another option...of having one or two powerful units too, the same thing can happen to Aeon for example, where I have thought of a "special" experimental that it might not be "clearly" Aeon, but it feels really cool to use it with them ;)
you haven't seen the aeon arsenal yet, so why all that hussle ? ;)

Now as for the XPs everything will be balanced don't worry, each XP will have its flaw/weak point...
If you've noticed even the Dragon that dishes extreme amounts of damage, is extremely slow and has small range(which means prone to kiting) ;)
I don't recall Megalith not being powerful... I don't recall Soul-Ripper I not being powerful...With 4 Soul-Rippers I could pown anything....
And keep in mind, UEF XP's had sheer amounts of health or survivability or range, not damage ;)
I have already stated...do some research before asking these questions...
Illuminate counterpart is the Archangel..the UEF one is either the Annihilator or the Juggernaut ;)
Assault means that it is used offensively and aggressively... this unit will favor speed and mobility with decent firepower, to be played aggressively...
Siege unit, doesn't need speed, because it is used to withstand tons of punishment, and lead a siege for other units to do the actuall "work", which means that this unit, will have lots of health, it will move slowly etc etc...

Zsombi, and to all of you that feel the same, as I can feel you all, since I love uber-powerful units too (like Titans in Age of Mythology, or super units in any other game that you can imagine).... I ensure you that as far as I am concerned I will strive for units like these...
Each faction will have it's own iconic unit, each representing it's faction on it's own way for example:
Cybran Dragon: a hell of a lot weapons, a hell of a lot damage, small range, high regeneration, but lower health than others, medium speed, but can jumbjet to come into position for its weapon systems do bring hell...
Illuminate Archangel: good overall stats (health, damage, range etc.)really good speed (for its size), really good looking (:P)
UEF (while I'm not so sure which one will it be I guess the Juggernaut is the most iconic): really good range (outranging any other iconic xp), good damage, really good health, but slow speed.....

as far as I know (up to now) the Dragon and the Aeon Archangel are two massive towering XPs that are used to vanish players from maps :)

Well as for the weapons in the front, what would you suggest ? do you have anything specific in mind ?

...as for the Aegis it is based on "catamarans" (e.g.: En.wikipedia.org , En.wikipedia.org , En.wikipedia.org ) that's why it is so flat, and as for it's proportions it might be a T3 ship, but it doesn't need to be huge or bulky, it will be light and travel fast, it wont rely on it's armor to withstand a direct naval attack, it will need serious cover for it to survive..that's it's drawback ;)
most of the aircraft in sc2 do not require a deck at all, since they are VTOL like the JSF-35....but anywayz...

Naval guns, are meant to be inaccurate ;) And to further analyze it, the reason you see the carrier and the corvette having missile silos, is that modern destroyers and cruisers, do not use cannons for main fire power but AS cruise missiles, if you've seen the movie "Battleship" you'll notice that those modern vessels' main firepower are their missiles and not the small cannon tower they have in the front....
Now lets come to those two ships... I chose to have them use missiles in favor of cannons, to further increase the UEF's human-like feel ! The UEF will continue to use cannons (and many of them :P hahaha) in other ships lets say the T3 battleship....but for those low level/tech vessels, I wanted missiles...
Just imagine a sea battle with those small ships unleashing anti-ship cruise missiles...their big brother's battleship's cannons unleashing storms of shells....while their enemy's (cybran) battleships unleashing lazers and photon shells... :D
if you think about it, Aeon prefer quality over quantity ;)

this experimental is heading towards damage....it has no utilities (mobile factory, stealth, anti-air, teleport etc) it can only do ONE thing....and that is....well...you know what it is :D
