Yeah Xash3D is not an ideal solution, just the best to make this mod a reality. Had I been able to everything in this mod in the original Half-Life I would have.

Regarding fullscreen, it didn't work like that for me. Sure it showed it in a window, but once I selected a new resolution and unchecked Window it went to perfect fullscreen mode from then on.

Don't know much about gamepad bindings.

Didn't have those gamebreaking bugs on my run through the game. I must have been lucky/you unlucky.

In my install I by default instructed people to add -console to their shortcuts. Was something unclear about that instruction? Let me know if it can be improved.

Noclip works as a toggle for me, just as in GoldSrc Half-Life. Type it into Xash3D's console and it's On. Type it in again and noclip is Off.

I wish you luck with your Half-Life adventures. I'm just glad you tried my mod!

Didn't find this in the documentation. Is there a console command that allows me to remove errors from being printed to the playable HUD. Sometimes the console will report a small error (sound could not be played, anim not loaded) and will display that in the top-right corner while playing. Is it possible for it not to display these messages?

I hadn't even noticed the 0.95 and the difference with the 0.99 the current build was at. Makes sense now.

I downloaded 3366 and materials worked immediately. Thank you for the help.

Boy, that's an old build. If it doesn't support materials anymore why is it still in all of the documentation. Had why do the materials work when I use Quake Remake or HL New Life with 4344?

I installed the Xash3D with Steam version of HL1. It runs fine, some easy to spot Xash3D features clearly work. Yet, I can't seem to get the High-Res textures to work: Documentation.help

I have seen it in operation with the Quake Remake Upgrade (https://www.moddb.com/mods/quake-remake-upgrade/downloads/qru-qrp-hd-textures-v10) and in Half-Life: New Life (https://www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-new-life). Yet in my base version of HL1 running on Xash3D, the method described in the documentation does not work. I found out that they both have host_allow_materials "1" in their config files. However, this does nothing when I put it in a .cfg or the console. It says it not a recognized command.

I did notice that both HL: New Life and Quake Remake are running off a different structure, each with a custom .exe that launches them.

Any help would be appreciated. To give an idea what my goal is: I want to make a graphic mod that replaces HL1 textures with HD ones as well as use the detail texture feature, to give even more detail up close. Both mod examples I gave seem to indicate this is possible, but I don't know how to proceed for my own mod.

I just stumbled onto this mod. This looks great. HL1 has such a great gameplay loop, that even in 2019 it remains entertaining. Throw in novel ideas such as the cyclical nature of it and you have something that could be just amazing!

Is it compatible with 4.2.1 iPod Touch 2nd gen? If it is I'd like a promo code. As to why I have such an old one, it's my dev device. Works great for getting the best bottomline performance, but hell when you want to try out new games.

Although Meat can still be very frustrating. That's what dying enough times does to you. VVVVVV's checkpoint system worked much better in that regard.

This looks like a fun game.

Graphically it's an interesting mix of simple sprites with more detailed world tiles. Very unique. I also like how Mos keeps on sliding on the floor after he dies. You can almost hear the sound of bee (if that's what he/she is) scraping over the pavement. Does the player keep the coins the sliding body collects after death? Saw that happen at one point in the trailer.

In terms of gameplay, aside from the seemingly tight controls I also liked how the ghost is shown on screen. Super Meat Boy does the same thing but only after the level has been finished. In that game it's just something that looks funny but here it's helpful as it allows you to kno exactly where not to jump, etc. as you're playing it.
