Description

The Salamander is an agile, fire-spitting reptilian monster that never appears in the final game. Despite that, Salamander is fully functional with its own unique model, sounds and animations. From developer comments in script files we can understand that the Salamander was set to appear only 3 times in the entire game, all in Forge of Xshathra, in the secret area where the hero can obtain the Fire Greatsword. For unknown reasons, in the game files, the monsters that are spawned and referenced as 23salamander, 23bsalamander and 25salamander respectively, actually have the EnemyType set as "skeleton" and swords and shields are spawned for them.

By changing the EnemyType in code back to "Salamander" the game spawns the correct monster and we can experience Forge of Xshathra closer to how it was envisioned during development. In this screenshot we can see one of the Salamanders that was replaced by a skeleton in the final release.
