Working on a game

CheesyDeveloper Blog

Hello everyone!

My last year of college has just begun.

Apart from studying, I have also worked on my first commercial game, which is coming to steam in the future months. It's an open-world RPG. Feel free to join my discord server for more information: Discord.gg

I also have a Ko-fi profile now for anyone interested to see what else I have made. You can also show support by donating. Donations will go towards expenses related to my game's development.

Cheers!

I am back

CheesyDeveloper Blog 8 comments

Hello!

I am back after a... pretty long hiatus to say the least ^^

A lot has happened since last time I logged in. I have grown as a person quite a bit and a lot of what I used to have on my profile I now find to be quite cringe inducing. I am still around the amnesia community and I still like to mod for the game, but a lot of my focus is elsewhere now, like other modding tools and even game dev tools.

Since my hiatus, I have been enrolled in game development college and also got a part time job as a level designer on the side. I have been working on own games too, which I have been putting aside because of my job for the time being, but when more progress are made on my games, I might upload some pics and stuff here for you guys to see.

What else is there to say? I still like oldschool games and usually prefer those over modernized games. I didn't particularly like Amnesia: Rebirth for that reason (and many other).

I have discord now too, so that's cool.

I think that's all :3

Cheers

Guide for new mappers

CheesyDeveloper Blog

I've notice that a lot of new mappers just doesn't spend much time on the storyline nor scares. They create their maps, say "You must escape the castle", add some silly naked guy jumpscares and that's it.

I created a steam guide for Amnesia mappers. It's based on my own and a majority of reviewers opnions here at moddb. I'm giving hints about how you build up an atmosphere, why you shouln't overuse jumpscares, tips about what kind of quests you can add and so on.

If you wanna take a look, here's the link to it:

Feel free to leave comments here or at the guide page what you think about it ;)
