No idea what that meant... -_-
Anyway, just passing by to tell you there's a new space on moddb dedicated solely to indie games and developers. It’s not obligatory, but I guess they expect everybody that’s not a moder to move – which is a good thing! ^_^ Check it out! Moddb.com Indiedb.com
PS - Being just a few of you, using free and low cost tools, making a game as complex as Aftershock… makes you a huuuuuge inspiration! GoGoGo!
I'm very interested in this mod!
Hope that you'll change some of those character sounds though:
They're too loud and it's not about the volume level - it's as if he's not careful.
Footsteps are ok - if that is the running version, and there's the sneaking one as well.
Door sounds are ok - if the guards are meant to hear them when close by.
But the sword sound is that generic loud one which just does't fit here!
I Hope that critique is welcome - Can't wait to play your mod!
About a month ago you posted...
1. This isn't FarCry2.
2. FC2 is a completely different type of engine. It loads smaller chunks of levels and then streams in the rest as you go. The doom 3 engine loads THE ENTIRE level. We didn't design the engine.
Could you please tell me more on the subject?
Do you know if this was changed in the EnemyTerritory: QuakeWars edition of the engine? – is that what MegaTexture technology is?
...I’m interested in “1 huge level with no loading” games.
Is there a name for this little-by-little level loading technique, or some technical expression that I can run a search by?
(like what other engines use it?
Is it the new general trend,
or does it have its drawbacks?)
I’m interested in something NewHorizon posted about a month ago on a modDB “The Dark Mod” page:

If Tech 4 goes open source, does that include all its modifications – Prey Q4, ET:QW.. ?

I share Argoon's fear: It's not Carmack's choice to make anymore...

Ps - Not much traffic on this page… I’m taking this to the coding forum
PS - I've asked the same question on the modDB engine -tech 4 page.
