DoD seems to have quite the following, especially with Bay 12ers.

Our Desura Dwarf Fortress group now has new forums up and ready to go! They will be checked much more frequently than the ones on this page, and new players are always welcome to drop by and ask any questions they may have. Stop on by and browse our videos or extensive DF gallery!

As you all may have noticed, we now have a few videos up of music files, as well as FORUMS. Using the comment page as a forum used to work just fine, but we've got so many members now that it'd just get out of hand should we want to actually discuss anything together. I'll be moving a lot of links and the like to the forums soon.

As I want to get this community more active, I wanted to extend my invitation to people who want to contribute more. Contact me if you don't have the proper group privileges and I will upgrade them; feel free to post ideas in the forums or message me personally. I am also taking requests for position titles. This means that instead of appearing as "Member" on the members list, you'll appear as something DF-related (e.g., "Marksdwarf," "Brewmaster," "Elf Lover," etc.). You can request the change by messaging me or posting on the forums!

Lastly, special thanks to Zainiax, who volunteered and helped create the forums! You really helped out a lot, and we appreciate your commitment.

Excellent, we hit 50! Welcome! It's a great little community we have here, and that makes me very happy. I checked out your link and found a lot of content there! I didn't know the Czech DF community was so strong and active :D

I couldn't send you a private message, so I'll just write to you this way :)

Welcome to our group, Nelson! I am very happy to receive you at our Dwarf Fortress fanpage. I have edited your membership capabilities so you can now upload videos and pictures, post articles, and do pretty much whatever you want, whenever you want! I am a firm believer that a community can only be as active as its membership, so I'd be delighted if you ever felt the inclination to post anything. If you are ever bored, feel free to send me a message. I'm always down for chatting about things, from Dwarf Fortress and literature to music and existence more generally. Hope to hear from you,

Kamin

What's the huge project you're working on? I'd love to hear about it! (Oh, and no worries about the avatar; I honestly see so many like it that I don't associate it with "furrydom" ;-))

Hahaha, it seems like somebody's been doing their homework ;) Who I am on Desura and deviantART is much different than the "Forum Me," in that I'm much more of an ******* on the forums. I'm surprised you put two and two together so quickly, because my username on Bay12 is different!

I have no idea; I honestly think it's Desura's fault, though. I guess I could shoot Toady an e-mail and ask him about it, but I just have the sneaking suspicion... I'd just DL all of that stuff from Bay12 or DFFD (DF File Depository).

One of my favorites I want to try--hilarious:

Hammer of Armok

A gigantic hammer made out of pure steel and/or valuables looming over your fortress entrance ready to smite those foolish enough to lay a siege on you.

Difficulty: Low. Depends on size and materials, though. Make it a gold hammer menacing with adamantine spikes, if you're going for high quality.

Bonus: Cover it with blood.

Is it strange that I think I'll be making an "upgrade" by switching from my current (beloved) non-ASCII based tileset to one of those? But goodness gracious, which to choose...
