As an American, I'll be the first to admit that most of my country doesn't know **** about world geography ( or our capital city ) or knowledge of a general nature, such as your Kiwi example. We rely heavily on game-shows, Google, and poorly reported news with unidentifiable tiny inset maps on a back screen for our sources of higher education now. Sad days....
