everyone, THIS MOD IS NOT DEAD. In November of last year, someone contacted the leader of the dev team here on ModDB and asked. The person was told by the creator that they are currently waiting for the release of Bannerlord. In other words, I doubt we will see anything more officially until after Bannerlord comes out, same thing is happening with the Hyrule mod. Just WAIT.

I love this modpack, is there a way to do the original POTC story with all the new mods and features?

this mod is awesome, really looking forward to it. Hopefully it does not get cancelled/ceased like vermillion sector did. What happened there anyway?

I can not get it to appear in steam, any advice?

I suffer the same issue, I have windows 7 home premium 64-bit, I have tried one other mod and it worked fine. I do not know if it is related but there is a Barney in the airlock that contains the loading screen between the crew quarters and the main area.
