One thing I always appreciated about NeoTokyo was the fact that it didn't hype itself as if it was a commercial game, which a lot mods now unfortunately do act like.

Great to see it make the finish line.

Well, the 'production values' are good. Looks like it'll be a high quality mod. The voice actors are adequate, but the dialogue script is pretty bad. I wouldn't worry about that too much though, looks like you have a good game in the making.

Agree. This article doesn't look like it was applied much logic to. I don't think Spore is going to be moddable, either. You won't be able to make new gamemodes and the like, for simple reasons like people getting the source code of their animation system.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't FOT not have a dialogue engine to speak of? Will you put in your own clever workarounds or will the game lack dialogue skills and choices etc.?

Turn-based is naturally the more fitting for rpgs. It emphasises the skills of your character and not your own twitching skills. It requires tactical thinking, frees up resources for AI and is really damn fun (the last part is ofcourse subjective, but man Jagged Alliance or X-COM kick ***).

Do your choices have consequences? That's what differentiates RPGs from games like Oblivion, where your choices don't really count for ****.

From what I've heard though, oftentimes the words displayed on the wheel may come out as a completely different sentence altogether, which makes you have less control on shaping your character. I've also heard that a lot of times conversation choices don't matter and that whatever you pick you get the same answer from the npc, which is typical for Bioware games.
