Mod Review on Aug 2nd, 2013
The mod has well made character models and animations, however using the Gun Katas is difficult. It's pretty much impossible to hit anything at first. It takes a long time to get the hang of it, but after a while it gets better once you memorize the hit patterns of your newly found signature move.

It's a joy to play, but is really just chunks from other mods. It's fun, but has no original content whatsoever.

The mod would be much better with Max Payne 3. It is in desperate need of a cover system with the new damage values.
If I may be so bold to make a suggestion, change the Payne Chronicles level (The meat club, as the hobo in the first one is required), make it to where the *****'s death does not make you fail. She can run in front of your guns and get shot by you. She goes behind you and fires at enemies, while most of the bullets hit you. Sometimes she runs into the middle of an open room and gets filled with lead from all sides.
Overall, the mod is fun. The only other issue I have is that it seems to take place in the Prohibition era, but in the normal MP2 levels you have, there is modern day technology.

An interesting concept badly executed. It gets the job done, however when you shootdodge backwards or roll in any direction you see Max Payne's full body. All this mod does is change the camera location, and this is made obvious through seeing bits of Max's head when you walk into a wall or a door.
2nd Version (Shepard)
Much better. Much MUCH better. Rolling and shootdodging no longer goes noticeably out of 1st Person. The new guns are fun to use, too. I really enjoy this version. However, cutscenes and mirrors should be avoided. Max often appears headless, which is necessary to make it better in gameplay. That, as much as it is necessary, is why this doesn't get a 9 or 10.
