so many people misinterpret the voice acting which makes me really sad.
it's such a NEAR PERFECT balance between ironical and exaggerated parody ("over the top" soldier's acting, the "gay" scientists) and serious and professional casting as close as possible to the original. beside that to these critics: tell me a name of ANY MOD with better voice acting? even full-price titles these days are worse or at least as amusing BUT without meaning to. ;)

i think you shouldn't trust wikipedia always, since it's a source for great knowledge but not guaranteed to be the always the truth - people just forget about that fact.
egypt is very, very fascinating, you should search for alternative information sources on how they MAYBE got energy, what the pyramids COULD HAVE been and beside these theories have a look at some of the FACTS about the mathematical and physical details of these massive and impressive buildings - why so many people died or got sick after entering certain areas inside these massive buildings at the first visits... such along time after there was noone anymore. do you think it's "the dead taking revenge once their burial chambers had been disturbed."... i don't think so. supposedly there has never been a dead body or a mummy found inside a pyramide or any of these "burial chambers", but what was inside them instead?
i don't say that you have to believe everything, just stay open minded and get informed. ;)
some sources also say that there where no torch appliances inside the great pyramids found eather... also no recordings that the first people who visited them found walls inside blackened with soot. only hollywood repeatedly suggest that these have been there - just as often as they've actually been there. ;)
that's why i love this screenshot. it combines myths with theories, great atmosphere, lies and conjectures. you can chose what is what.

two ideas: for the "stealth testlevel" it'll be awesome to create a night scenery for this. bright fullmoon, stars some clouds... stuff like that... that'll be done pretty fast i guess (chganging sunlight, skybox, light colours?) but add so much more atmosphere already for this task i think. ;)
for "the unarmed fight": make give the enemy idle gestures/animations if he tries to stay away... like tapping the ground with a foot very fast, or mocking the player with taunts. jumping backwards if the player gets to close should also look nice and then you won't have the problem with him not facing the player while moving backwards.

awesome texture! if you add flora i wouldn't do too much and keep it at the edges to meadow or a forest for this kinda ground. looks good as dead as it is to me. ;)
much better with the pda that close and i like the maintexture, if the material is dull it'll look like that and this way its way better camouflaged = more realistic. maybe you could combine the two versions (more far away and this one), so that if you pull the pda out you have to press another button to get it that close and view the actual location in detail?!

but there's one thing that breaks the atmosphere here imho. at the end of the road, on the horizon theres a sudden stop... i don't know how far the player will be allowed to go near that "end of the world", but i would try to conceal/mask that area with some plane brushes in the back, some propmodels, an edited skymap or all techniques combined together.
anyway! you write in the description it's a wip-shot, so there will be changes i guess. :)

- it's very hard to recognize the enemy-team sometimes... visionmode on or off, maybe a broad hint is possible in anyway (maybe it's just the detail of the surroundings for now... everythings new too but i think it is hard to recognize)
- why there aren't any hints for the weapons? i mean they look awesome, but i was suprised that a gun that looked like an automatic machine gun was only able to shoot rapidly by klicking often... so i died. and fired one time ;) which one is the fastest, the hardest, the lamest?
- why i'm supposed to change my playerclass and weapons all the time? ok, i understand the weaponchangescreen, cause you get new stuff after "getting better" but i guess most people want to decide when the time is right to change the class?! just a suggestion

BUGS AND PROBLEMS
(i guess you already know them but... here they are):
- sometimes there's a suicide without a reason and without explosives, duno if it's supposed to be a kill for the enemy or not.
- i was stucked with another team-member in the ghost-case after trying to take the ghost ( i guess we both tryed at the same time). sometimes you somekind of stuck into eachother while touching teammembers - feels like lag or something. duno if it was just lag or not ;))
- after death, in spectator-mode, models, players and details are disappearing sometimes... that sucks, cause you can not watch the battle without fighters ;) its the effect of leaving the map in source-engine normally, but here it is inside the map, like breaching a boarder and than everything is gone, get back again and everyting is still there. hope you get me right, sorry for the bad english-skills xD
- after your death you're still able to radiate that light around you by pushing the "invisible"-button - duno if others who are still alive could see or hear it, too - would be dire!
neotokyo° FINALLY OUT (AGAIN) AND IT'S ************ AWESOME!
i played it yesterday right after that funny "away-message-party" (^^) and today for a few hours and have to say:
def's, what you've done here left me speechless, impressed. i almost forgot that it's "just" the source-engine!
the amount of detail is amazing (there's all that can be desired!... really great rendition of the gits-universe and the animeflavour, awesome concepts and designs, gloomy sounds of war in the back, real "streetart" of neotokyo, the detailed and authentic sharp textures and bumps, very varied maps, the realtime lighning and shadows on players and weapons, the excellent bloom, the mapdesign, lightning and gameplay, the unrevaled OST - that AWESOME ATMOSPHERE... even 3d-cigarettes in the ashtray. i could (c=sh) go on like this, but you have to see it for your self (if you haven't already). :)
i really appreciate your work and i am happy that you could arouse your visions for all these years and made us able to play them on a whole new MOD-standard right now! THANK YOU RADI-8!

awesome! i can almost hear the old piano soundtrack, rain hitting asphalt and the sound cars make driving by on a wet street in the background. nice atmoshpere works pretty well already, contrast-wise.

i haven't seen much of the mod yet, but it's clear where it's heading for and all the screenshots i've seen so far don't fit that colour-scheme i would say. go for the main-menu colours maybe, or maybe rendering out the clip in monochrome mode would already work, or in a "blueish" look, more cold could be a nice alternative to play around with imho.
artistically it'S already made very well (the fade in, the effects etc.), just the colours mislead the mood here a bit i guess.

wow, just wow! the light rays are awesome (not too much but enough to simulate that steamy, "wet" weather in the woods - i can almost smell the meadow). often people can't find a great value, overdo it, just because they can... you did a great subliminal job here. the colours of both, light and fog are very well done and fit together and that physics-demonstration is just perfect, really i mean it! looks very real.

exactly. please no "fancy" small art-font-designs, which most of the time only work in titles or headlines, or icons... and even there, not perfectly good because of bad space-management inbetween the letters and or bad legibility if it comes to more then one word. it's called "microtypography" - an important theme in advertising and because everything else coming from this project looks so good, artistically, i would strongly suggest keeping it simple, readable and clear - only "designed" if it's a good design for these aspects and for its purpose: continuous text.

great atmosphere and awesome model. at first i thought the head would be too big, "egg-shaped", oval looking (because of the perspective of that "ingame render shot") - but here it all fits together! nicely done :)
the human brain is build like that. you always try to combine lines and dots, pattern and structure to be a "face" - because that's so important for our lifes, to recognize faces. :)

really like your tc so far and i will defenetely try it when u'r done, but prof. is right at many points... (especially the eye-positions)
