Been a long time lurking, decided to join to making tracking/watching mods, and indie games far easier on myself.
clearly you don't understand copyrights.
"Hrm, you ever get the feeling the DM hates us?"
god your textures always come out so crisp (something I've -yet- to master in the UDK)
wow, cameout really well
For those that can't tell, this one has an Emissive Map.
wow, you guys have done an amazing job sofar, keep up the great work :D
you mean the bruce lee tracksuit bunny, not kill bill.
damn, nice job!
Now that, will be an interesting sculpt.
wow, love it.
The begging, really? Tron is begging for something?
Lancer/Evo? FTW :D
even with the Eo, the 'asp' like action of the slide/bolt would make it insanely annoying to shoot while being aimed :P
Honestly though I suppose there's very few cases pistols are 'aimed' such as it is outside of tactical training/or using it as a primary weapon, so as long as it maintains its role as the 'backup' weapon for when you run out of ammo with your primary, I can't see it being a *massive* issue. Good job, feels a bit 1911-ish, but still maintains that 'luger' accent.
And, if you read Asimov's work, I-Robot was completely unrelated to the movie that was released :P as I recall, I Robot was about a robotic nanny, the film was a cross between Under the Naked Sun and Caverns of Steel. But yeah, Robot Strippers = Awesome, now get some animation going ;)
Please do a bit of digging next time before you misunderstand me, KaBar & Onatario/Buck Knives both make Bayonets stamped M9, granted typically you only see them in the USMC; but they are still easy to find. *To the best of my knowledge anyways.*
KaBar <3 (although I'm more of a SOG and Cold-Steel guy myself :P)
Ugh I just downloaded and installed 5.8 lastnight! :P
For those looking for a mirror of the Official Patches.
Oh I know, the hilt is still a WIP, I actually have friends who do blade-smithing in real life, so I have plenty of references (both completed and ill-fated attempts lol) laying about.
Brilliant work! Can't wait to see what this will look like in-engine, scale has always been a person struggle of mine, I'd love to see what you can do with such an ambitious project.
hah, well that always works ;)
hey you got the hud-working, that's farther then I am in my project *thumbsup* xD
Actually if you look closely, from what I can tell, its the classical M16/H&K417 design, compounded with the KRISS Super V & an L96. Also all things considered, I gotta ask you do you even understand why the SCAR was created?
Each country participating in any major arms race typically runs trials, the XCR and the SCAR where the finalists here in the US to replace the M16 in the, you guessed it, SCAR Trials; thus replacing the 'stamp'/'standard' Infantry Rifle. SCAR (as you know it, not referring to the trial-name itself.) won (****** reason too, but we won't get into that.) so, as per real-steel weapons, you'll seeing more 'SCAR inspired' weapons in any realistic future.
Anyways, it's a rather brilliant design, the ejection port is a bit high if that's what it is, but I'm loving it! :D
Darn, here I was hoping for a whole SavageDragon/Hellboy reference, and having his brain in a jar ontop of a giant gorilla xD
Hrm..aren't the lenses red on -all- space marine suits anyways? Or is it one of those artistic-licenses painters typically take?
Well something I don't think that was pointed out in this article, is that the game was released free (and with full mod support), not as a true 'game', but only as a gameplay mechanic. Designed as a shell for the modding/indie community to use as a framework for their own creations. (thus the short main campaign.)
I think Valve definitely took notice at the amazing work being done by the fans, in the L4D User Created campaigns, and wanted to maximize on that fanbase; and that creativity.
That's both a positive, and negative thing; We can expect a trillion lackluster 'zombie' mods to come, but for every fifty of those perhaps we'll get a gem or two out of this amazing release.
Not really; its the texture for a Laser Rifle :P
God your doing amazing.
Suppose the XM LR3000/Para USA TTR remind you of it as well, or perhaps because it's a bullpup the FAMAS G1/G2?
Anyways, glad you posted some wire-ish/x-ray frames, lets us see how awesome your modeler is :P
Yeah because having a shotgun as an under mounted attachment, was invented by killzone.
you understand that the only change, is the color of his tunic/loincloth, right?
Aye but they want 30 for the toilet paper.
you jacked the hell out of the bloom?
wow the specular on this is amazing
Shorter barrel you mean? Yeah some of us like having a distance beyond 200-300 meters :P
wow, brilliant job!
Youknow, I didn't like it at first, but it's growing on me!
So hexes remind you of a crappy game? :P Good lord back when I was little we had to generate our -maps- for tabletops using hexes, and the best this generation can comeup with is Crysis? xD I'm gonna shoot myself.
Sortof, I used the base material in Mudbox and then painted it using the painting features built into the program.
-exactly- what I've been waiting for :D
Considering its Maqui, its entirely possible that its a heavily modified version of one.
wow, in total that's exceptional news for the project! You guys have done a brilliant job so far, and I can only imagine it getting better from here, goodluck with the degree as well!
"Use at your own risk. " Amen xD
Lower the brightness of the 'blur' in the background, as well as the opacity of it, or make it animated! The 'chrome glare' effect on the text seems to make it almost unreadable (1920x1080), so again either make it a brief animated effect, or redesign the logo :S I mean so far you guys have released a staggering amount of content, but this logo is..not up to the quality you've displayed thus far.
Youknow if I haven't said it before, I'll say it now, and hell even if I have said it before I'll say it again; the amount of props & the level of detail that you've all put -int- the props, makes this project look amazing.
Hell, even if it went straight to retail instead of an open release on the UDK, I'd probably drop 30-40 on it!
You guy's've done amazing work, keep it up, can't wait to see a release!
My god it -screams- Red Alert & Fallout Tactics, and all I can say is in the immortal words of Professor Oak, "I Came!"
Might wanna hand-paint the specular maps, or even use some photo-realistic desaturated textures, set to multiply/overlay at a low opacity % ontop of your current specular map.
Because amusingly enough, as I've learned, the Specular Map actually adds a good portion of the depth you see on most modern meshes. Yes the diffuse is 'detail' but the Specular makes those Details Pop.
Model itself is great however actually!
You, understand one is inspired from the other, right?
And that in-fact 'gothic' Medieval styling didn't come to be known as such until the early Victorian era, so, technically, like vikings with horned helmets, 'gothic' is just a romantic ideal created by the romanticized minds of Victorian era Writers & Artists, that in future times, became classical Goth-Elegant (Or rather Victorian/Steampunk Goth), not these pouty-eyed-look-at-my-hair-Emos we have today. :P
But yeah, Shrew did a wonderful job, and the gold really sets off the blue.
Yes, before anyone says anything; this is without ikhandles :P
the Little Black Rifle* Due to no one knowing its name in early Vietnam Combat Trials.
I've only recently started working in the UDK, but even I can see the insane amount of time and effort you've put into this project, great job and I can't wait for a release to try out.
M14EBR* :P Looks great however.
I gotta ask, if/when/are you considering adding custom sprites, instead of using whats provided to you by the RPG Maker? I can understand keeping say, the buildings, the ascetics would be a pain to match if you started jumping around with different sprites/tiles, but the characters themselves are stock; and as far as *I* know, you can actually import and setup custom character sprites & animations.
I understand the urge to tell a story; and that a game should be based upon solid gameplay and storyline, but for someone who grew up (ages 11-14) playing with the older RPG Toolkits/RPG Makers of the world, the look is stale, and anyone who -has- played with these tidbits of software will actually discount the game itself for using stock graphics (and I've even seen in some cases, discount the game as a whole for simply using the 'engine'/software.)
Don't get me wrong; its very clear your intention is to create a decent game, with an involving and driving story (although I can't say I've played any releases of this so, I won't judge the quality of those aspects :P), you might wish to pick afew other engines to learn, -while- working on this piece.
I'd recommend using, if graphics aren't an issue, the Neverwinter Nights Engine; create yourself your own module, keep it on the backburner and don't show it off till its ready; and the community will embrace it. (However it using the D&D/AD&D Ruleset might be a bit of a pain I'm sure, but again its just a suggestion for an engine upgrade.)
UDK comes (atleast the most current version) with the Robot you see there setup pretty commonly. Hell its even in the example map behind the wall you blow up using that demo charge.
Soo...I take it the chairs, tables, and those weird dishwasher things in the background are -actually- created with the Geometry Brush and then just textured with a simple material? Kinda works, I guess, although you should mention to the mapper that you -can- convert simple or even complex brushwork into a static mesh pretty quickly. Then you could (theoretically, I have no bloody idea how you'd get it -out- of the UDK but, bear with me here) take it into Blender/Maya/3DS and get it cleaned up/use it as a basis for scale.
Anyways its not..eye bleeding, I think, although that -would- explain the blood I'm seeing...
yeah I suppose your right, I mean its basically the Quake 3 Engine right? (in reference to EF1) From what I've seen, its spawned a plethora of other engines/modifications to the engine, and still has large base community of both gamers and modders.
Again though, great job guys, can't wait to see the mod in full :D
Why the heck didn't I see this before...Bloody Amazing job everybody, +tracking ftw
Gotta ask though, why EF1, not EF2? Better graphics, and as far as my understanding goes, just as 'easy' (if you can call it that) to mod.
AH but the only way to Win the Game, is not To Play ;) (+1 to whomever gets the reference xD)
Doing an amazing job, keep it up! Can't wait to play/recruit me some dwarfs >:D
Define 'viking' style, honestly do you even -know- who the vikings were as a culture outside of what hollywood & videogames have shown you? :P To be frank they lived in a civilized manner -similar- if not exactly the same to the early Anglo-Saxons for the most part.
On a more positive note;
Great job! Nice direction on the map, can't wait to play.
Correction, Video Processing. Give it some time!
This looks brilliant! Can't wait to try it out :D
..why did this showup as a reply..
Forge World FTW!
If possible could you Add me to this Group? I'm only making props, but I think that count as being part of the Studio ;) :P
I am SO reinstalling Oblivion for this.
So what exactly is left for you guys? (Great model btw)
Outside of being neat, what use will the Warpstones have?
If I may make a suggestion, for chaos-aligned players (if that will be possible at this point), make them consumable, and used to bolster (or in this case, regain) Magic?
Similar to a Mana Potion so to speak. As per Order races, the elves where known for Focusing Stones I believe? And a rune focus would work for Dwarves, Prayer Icon for Humans?
Using the item as if it had a recharge, like a normal magical item, then in turn the person would be forced after so many uses/recharges of the players mana, the individual would go back to the temple of his or her patron? (Sigmar; Valaya; etc)
Not sure if the facial textures fit, but, eh thats oblivion :P
Other then that (and the helm) brilliant job! This mod will actually cause me to break out my copy of Oblivion!
Goodluck! Is CoP more geared for modding, or was this move based simply upon the features of the game/expansion?
Who's model is the Necron Gauss Flayer? It looks similar to the Immortal's Cannon I built, but, simply put cut in half :S
Sent ya' a Private Message ^^
Sorry man, I typically work in U3/HL2 Engines :S (Even then I barely know how to do anything xD)
Also I got a project I'm working on, playing it close to the chest, hope to get some stuff out there starting next year ^^
This'll be an interesting piece to see in game, to say the least. The jointing on the fingers is a nice touch, along with the ridging to the 'knuckles'.
Again though, this is it pre-skinned, I can only imagine what'll look like later!
Hard to judge it without a texture, but the end of the barrel/flash suppressor, seems to flare? I'm *and I might be wrong* not sure if that's a common trait among Bolt Pistols.
Either way, brilliant job.
Although, a small note would be the smoothing groups seem to be a bit..off? I'm not sure, might just be the lighting. Atleast on the top, above the grip it appears that way. Also the lower toggle/button, infront of the trigger (above the clip) seems 'squished', might be a trick of the perspective of the render though.
Will this be something setup at the initial start of the character creation, or would they be acquired like in Fable 2? (only game I can think of off the top of my head that has that)
Also will these/will the tribal style be the only ones available, or will you be introducing things along the lines of Celtic/Norse styling as well?
True enough, but (even pre-heresy) isn't the iconic image of Nurgle, a single horn and a single eye?
Anyreason you have 3(atleast that I see right now) of basically the same image? While their are more bullet marks in the wall, that doesn't really show off anything more then a decent effect (as you said, lacking particles)
Looks okay, but I'll have to wait and see what it looks like when you've finished it. I know your probably just trying to 'keep' it alive, or people from complaining about lack of updates; and this might just be me, but I'd rather see something (and I understand mods/addons are ongoing projects) a little farther on, from what I've seen its rare people show off Alpha grade screenshots, most of the time Release Media is base models/textures and then Beta grade In-Game stuff.
Again, just my opinion
You could buy Silverfall Earth Awakening from a store when it was out, otherwise check online retailers; Walmart/Amazon/Gamestop/etc
It is Stand Alone; you can import your character from Silverfall (v1.17) if they are beyond level 45 is my understanding.
Really good, but the Heatshield/Grip, is a bit wide *might be the Perspective of the view*
Looks like the Vietnam grip (not sure of the mark number of that), but a bit stockier then even that.
But as I said, brilliant job :D can't wait for the release.
I think its the lighting, might just be my monitor (it sucks :P ) but its more of a diamond-texture, very soft atleast, and the lighting twords the rear of it makes it matte black.
Basically put, I think its actually green o.O
Amen to that. Recommending all my friends check this out, a close friend of mine is -always- complaining, at the lack of a grappling hook in modern games.
..And then usually starts a rant about bionic commando lol.
I said that earlier on the previous image but my comment 'disappeared' =\
Hah, love it.
"GDIs newest transport aircraft, the V38 (nicknamed "Bison") is powerfull enough to lift 2 small vehicles or one huge (Mammoth, MCV, ...). However, unlike the Ox transport, he is unable to transport infantry."
Right there in the Image Description =\
No sound or is that just me? :P
...You know the thing is it actually looks really good; but I can't tell how it works, can we get like, a rough sketch on a napkin, with lines showing were it fires from, please? lol
I love the concept of the game, and I'm curious/hopeful to see this take off, but I gotta ask, how does this bow even work? xD
and did a brilliant job of it.
Grotesque monster eh? *cough* Nurgleth *cough* xD
Great job though in a general sense!
Hah, now, THAT is a bad-*** weapon.
Amazing, amazing job.
It's the suppressor, makes the gun look brilliant. Magazines a bit fat; but I have no idea what this thing shoots lol.
You know I've purchased C&CRA3/Uprising, C&C 3 Tiberium Wars, but never Generals/Zero hour, and this mod, might make me have to, great job.
Really interesting design, reminds me of the Walther 2000, with a modified clip/feeding, stock, and front grip.
Anychance of a model any time soon?
Ack' the Karak is growing them dwarfs a bit big these days eh? xD
Dwarfs are NEVER fat. Infact if you look them up, the sheeting of their musculature is simply denser, and layed out in a different pattern. They aren't 'miniaturized' humans, while the organs are the same the structure isn't while the base principles of the muscles are the same; the layout, isn't.
So in reality, a 'frail' looking dwarf is a bit..odd, unless your going for LOTR, but we won't talk about that :P
Anyways, Great Job! Far better then anything I could've done.
Aye; and? :P
Actually in some cases I've picked up ammo crates, post-military and in private collections, that don't have -any- identifiers :S Personally I count it twords wear, but, still.
Great job guys! Love the texture.
No problem man! It's a pain in the *** and I barely know how to do what I -did- correctly, and even then I learned through experimentation! Playing around is the best way to learn (for me), and this is still an amazing sculpt.
You know what I find amazing about the engine, is it simply *feels* like it was built from the ground up for devs./modders. The interface is simple and flows in a similar manner to most 3D applications, and it doesn't have the..technical, feel that Radiant and Hammer carry, while not feeling dumbed down and lackluster as some other engines do.
Just makes me wish I hadn't've blown the 60 on STO (that kinda, failed anyways..) and bought that NS2+Overgrowth doublepack xD
If I may make a recommendation; I understand its supposed to be some form of android, as such it needs an organic & inorganic feel, stiffening the edges around the 'pads'/'armor of the legs, and the central circle's walls (the one of the characters left side/viewpoint right side)could use a touch of it as well.
The collar feels like a space-helmet's locking collar, and I like that actually, after seeing the painting you did on the previous model I have no doubt you'll be able to pull that look off, but making it feel/seem more like a machined piece of metal, stiffening/pinching the edges down, and smoothing/flattening the stiff areas around the 'holes' you see there, would go a long way.
I know I'm no master at this, infact I'm far from even being able to do what you've done there I'm sure, but I took some time and highlighted areas that seem to need more refinement, *this is just my opinion remember*
If I may make a recommendation as well, the 'joining' area, between the 'collar' and the suit, look like poorly defined cables/tubes, might just be me but I'd love the look of two black, ribbed cables/tubes there.
I393.photobucket.com I used that for a Borg/Evil-Cyborg piece I worked on awhile back, simply adding the 'ribbing' you see there on the center, would make that joining area look amazing.
Tablet or Mouse may I ask? because the fact you managed to keep things looking rather hard-surfaced is amazing if your using a mouse :S I fail at it.
whale man demands more camera-mooning action!
Other then as a long range scout, how will this be played? Or is it a representation for 'spectator' players?
Sounds like your Graphics Card, Update it, or update the drivers? I used to have that issue on Vanilla way back when Stalker came out, running an Nvidia MX440 :S (Yes, shame on me :P)
why have I never heard of this!? Its flippin amazing!
This would be everything I need, instead of having to download all of the other releases I see here in the Downloads area?
Hah bloody awesome, been playing it on/off, have to say one map (although I'm not sure of the name, I believe its Dig Site), is bloody huge @_@ Must be great with lots of players, but mostly I end up on Space Hulk (again, unsure about the map names, to lazy to check :P) and even then, its still huge amounts of fun.
Planning on bringing this to the next lanparty I head to, see if I can get some more people hooked on it :D Would be amazing with tightly trained teams on both sides.
Although I'd love to see Apothecary & Techmarines, and of course Genestealers & Hormagaunts...although I suppose how its setup now, the warrior plays like what I'd imagine a Gaunt would....
But hey, love the mod, keep it up!
Well considering the choices, and my, avid love-affair with the Dragunov AND M14, I am torn :(
But to be honest, lets be fair, unless an individual owns a private military store-house, or raids a national guard depo, (or lives in Michigan here in the states xDD) they won't own the M14. The R700 on the other hand, has a Civi Reincarnation called the Varmint (I believe) and I've actually fired that weapon afew times, its a medium/large game weapon. However.
If I was fighting off hordes of the parasite-controlled-masses, I'd want the good ol' Henry 1860 .44 Slug. Hell, I believe it was intentionally designed to -be- interchangable (ammo wise) with a .44/.45 Peacemaker, so, there's a hint for ya on my opinion with Pistols too :P
..well I personally love the OTs33 for pistols BUT that's a different story. Bottom line, Number 1/Henry 1860 (Or is it a Winchester? XD)
Btw is Number 4 a Nagant or Kar98? Can't tell, eyes must be going >>;
Brilliant job, can't wait to play this. Glad you guys moved to the UDK as well! Honestly I think for U3 Devs, that has to be the way to go.
I disagree, while NeoTokyo is bloody amazing, your talking of two different styles, and they shouldn't be compared.
While they are both of the source engine, a Dystopian (Its not just a game people, its a word :P) Tokyo set in a 30+ Years distant future, can't be compared to a world that, to be frank feels like Bioshock meets STALKER, and in a very, very good way.
Well, it looks of the same quality, as Stalker + Lurk with Full Dynamic Lighting on :P
Hell, no I'll give it to you guys, even as a die hard Stalker/LURK fan, this looks even -better-.
