Sortof, I used the base material in Mudbox and then painted it using the painting features built into the program.
nah, never sell your work, license it, but, never sell it. Selling it implies you give someone else ownership of an item, licenses let you control who gets your content and who can use it (legally), so it'll make them more money in the longrun as well as leaves them a truly independent developing company, without the, for lack of a better phrase, 'politicking' you see in most modern high end Developers.

For the bases, are we looking at a Heroes of Might and Magic style construction system? Ie; one building per 'turn', or a relative amount of turns for each piece of construction, and you don't control the placement of the buildings, or will we be looking at more of a heavily interactive placement as seen in games like Battlezone 2/C&C Renegade/etc?
Will stick with ya man, love to see this mod finished or even in an alpha state!

wow, in total that's exceptional news for the project! You guys have done a brilliant job so far, and I can only imagine it getting better from here, goodluck with the degree as well!
Considering your graphics card is probably about what, 2-3 years old, its possible the graphical enhancements this mod adds, are basically cooking your card. Consider upgrading, even a 4350 or anything in the Radeon HD4k/HD5k series would be a massive step forward.

This may come across as rather odd, but the overall fell of Aperture science (or rather, the test areas your limited to in Portal) felt..airy, light, and I hope this mod can capture the lighting & mood that set the 'feel' for that environment, but eh, either way you've earned yourself another tracker :P
God I love all the comments about not being able to pay for this, however, I love this game way to much not to pay for it. So when my paypal finally gets all cleared and setup, this'll be my first purchase ^^
Quick question however, is the MP like Freelancer? Because if so, you might've just gotten 3 purchases out of me, instead of the single one.

Actually the BF40k team (or what was left of them after all these years) basically closed down =( They had a hell of a lot of work done however, although it was for the Battlefield 2/Battlefield 2142 Engine. Long story short, and I don't know the details, all of the work they accomplished over the past..oh, 2-3 years, was tossed over at Geodav's UT40k Project.

God that was -years- ago xD Back when NS2 was first announced, to the best of my knowledge, it was supposed to be a HL2 mod :P I think that's what he's talking about.
Don't worry about Geodav, he's running another 40k mod based on the UT3/UDK engine, your his competition basically :P
Must be feeling all superior now with the giant shot in the arm his mod got from the BF40k team.
Honestly I support both projects :D two different gameplay styles really, although I kinda favor this one, more of a Renegade/Battlezone Style gameplay fan.
hah +1 for irony...wait..your serious...alright long story short, the head/lead of this mod, talked to the guys over at Renegade X, and they where totally okay with sharing the majority of their work, or so goes my understanding of it, and basically the core of Renegade X's gameplay is here, most of its features, etc, just changed to fit the Warhammer 40k Universe.
Actually there's no standing proof Blizzard (or, 'Bliz' as you put it) is -not- going to be putting out a Warcraft 4. However, until the release of Starcraft 2, there will be no production (that we, as the fans, will be made aware of anyways) in the Warcraft department outside of World of Warcraft.
Honestly though, with the release of the next (and hopefully in my mind, final) Expansion of World of Warcraft coming soon, probably hitting the shelves shortly before Christmas, and Starcraft 2 coming shortly after, we will undoubtly see more information about both Diablo 3, and a possible announcement of Warcraft 4 then.
Boiled Down - Your right & wrong, there currently is no public plans for Warcraft 4, however, with the release of the new engine, anything is possible. Keeping in mind that the Engine itself can run in both FPS, Third Person, RTS (God View) and from what I've heard Isometrically, the possibilities are endless.
It would be..foolish, of Blizzard to let the Warcraft IP die out on a (admittedly, long lived) MMO Title, instead of continuing in its roots as an RTS.
Worst comes to Worst, the SC2 Engine + some Handy Modelers/Modders -> WC4 in 'Next-Gen' Tech.
Always wondered if the 'legs' where curled due to bones or they happen to be modeled that way, nicejob!

Also, amazing work guys (can't believe I haven't commented before o.O)
Lower the brightness of the 'blur' in the background, as well as the opacity of it, or make it animated! The 'chrome glare' effect on the text seems to make it almost unreadable (1920x1080), so again either make it a brief animated effect, or redesign the logo :S I mean so far you guys have released a staggering amount of content, but this logo is..not up to the quality you've displayed thus far.
Well I'll think about grabbing this MTX file, however, if your going to be using a torrent client, is it really that hard to have a compiled & ready .exe/OS Specific Installer?

Youknow if I haven't said it before, I'll say it now, and hell even if I have said it before I'll say it again; the amount of props & the level of detail that you've all put -int- the props, makes this project look amazing.
Hell, even if it went straight to retail instead of an open release on the UDK, I'd probably drop 30-40 on it!
You guy's've done amazing work, keep it up, can't wait to see a release!

Honestly wasn't the 'first' release declared Late Alpha/Early Beta -anyway-? I mean hell, if you look at 90% of the games on the market, from Alpha to Finished Product, they go through unimaginable shifts.
Hell, Halo was an RTS for the Mac & Half Life was about a character that looked rather Space-Biker-Ish.
So again, I must ask, have, you played this release? Because the gaps between releases, tend to cause dramatic changes in both gameplay style & mechanics.
