I'm currently developing "Homestead: Settle and Survive", an indie 2D sandbox game which focuses around wilderness survival and village creation. I program in C++, but am experienced in Java and numerous other languages. My favorite libraries include SFML and libnoise.

Try to build a village and play with friends. The game is very different from Minecraft :)

Singleplayer mode would off-balance a lot of stuff and would force me to rewrite the whole game. Colonies is an MMO, not an RPG.

Sorry :/

As a developer of a similar game, I really like the direction you're heading with Wayward. True Rogue-likes are hard to find, and I like the wilderness appeal you bring.

PS The concept art looks snazzy too :)

Yes, it is an MMO.

The final world will be quite expansive, so I don't think we will have many problems with population. If we do, I will reset the world according to everyone's needs.

I don't want thousands of testers yet. I want a controlled group, so I wanted people to register at the forums first. I made it a public link because it's too hard to manage otherwise. Once I actually start accepting pre-orders, then I'll care.

1) Yes, I know. It was a suggestion

2) "There was no point in having your own forums" - I market to other people outside IndieDB. I won't evolve my life around one promotion tool.

3) As I said on the forums, it's only a Windows download at the moment (unless you run on Wine). It says that on the forums.

4) I refuse to revolve around IndieDB. 3/4 of my community comes from elsewhere. Believe it or not, I don't just use one promotional website.

5) It's in early alpha and I can't bugtrack if people don't register on the forums. Later, I'll start actually caring, but since it's ALPHA, I don't care.

I would do that if I had an auto-updater. I've been meaning to add one for a while. Once I do, and once I'm in Beta, I'll consider it.

I keep all my downloads in one place on my forums. Since I update so much, it would be a nightmare to fill out multiple download forms every time I make an update (which can happen multiple times each day). It also allows me to track bugs easier. It's in a VERY early alpha stage at the moment, so this is a requirement.

Oh, and btw, I could care less about the amount of people playing. I just want to keep my fans happy.

I'm reworking the combat system a bit. I don't like it being "too simple", but too complex confuses people and takes away from the base elements of the game IMO.

Thanks :)
