maybe it's not too bad but it still means that linux/macos version is somewhat crippled when compared to windows counterpart.

640x480 windowed and the game runs. now i have nvidia blob drivers to blame... will see if the update fixes this (and suspend2ram too). thanks for your quick reaction. jose

tried basic settings with tiny draw. distance, using nvidia drivers 302.17 - still the same. btw minecraft runs fine (also using lwgjl..). jose

arch linux, 32bit. gamepad brand is speedlink (read: no name) - works fine in other games though (e. g. trine 2, supertuxkart).
