Sadly some people are just idiots but as far as I'm, and I hope and imagine the majority of the modding community and people tracking Cry of Fear are concerned, take as long as you want and need to make what will most likely be one of the best if not the best single player half life mods ever created and a beacon of what can be achieved in this day and age when modding an older engine.

I can't tell exactly but my educated guess would be at least 280 polys per barrel, possibly a bit more.

Edit: Actually now I've full screened the image and had a look quite a lot more. Can't be bothered to count them, but a wild guess would say 400 give or take 20 or so.

It's easier to get good, even great artists to create the assets you'll need than it would be for an artist to get great (and they'd need to be great) programmers to put the kinds of AI and world systems that you're talking about into place. So if you really can do what you say you can do the artists will come.

I'll be honest, I have my doubts, what you're talking about is massive, but I'm looking forward to you hopefully proving me wrong.

Thanks, glad you like it, technically it's really amateur work and I'd like to re-do it at some point but sadly I really don't have the time for the foreseeable future. Definitely something I'll get round to at some point though as I'm still proud of the concept and if I re-did it now I reckon it could be a pretty stunning scene.

When I saw your concept art I was like, there's no fking way they'll even come close, but you've come a lot closer than I thought was possible, so well done on that front.

It all sounds incredibly ambitious and unless you've got 40+ highly skilled team members working their guts out on this thing with no distractions I honestly don't think you have a chance in hell of fully realising it, but it's awesome you're trying and hey, if it does work out you'll have achieved something truly incredible. So good luck and I can't wait to see future updates.

Same, I mean it's a racing game so surely there are some kinds of rules or limits to the flying mechanic, or else players will just make a b-line for the finish line in the air.
