I'm a student in London studying video game design, development and some history... and some other stuff, on one of those courses that gets slagged off by everyone for being too unfocused... so yea, hate me :'(
Can't wait to give it a go.
Looks exiting. + 1 vote
You really have surpassed the need for a "that looks amazing for source" comment. It just looks amazing now.
Just echoing the pleas to release what you have. At the very least somebody might find use for some of the art assets or code in their own mod/mods, so your hard work may not go to waste completely.
I really really wish I could code but I can't.
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP THEM!!
Don't worry too much about it "looking ****". If it's a good mod as in well written and paced, nobody will give a crap if it looks a little dodgy.
Looking forward to it.
In that case all the COD games from COD 2 onwards are made on the Quake III engine.
...still not as impressive as this.
Is this what put "The Rising" on hold?
Better be damn good.
I presume you already know but RPS just covered it.
Great to see it start getting some real attention, and it deserves it as well. Considering buying in so I can get some hands on with it. Keep up the good work, because you're making the game we've all been wishing for, for quite some time now!
Seconded. Looks amazing though, great work.
How not finished would you say it was? It looks really good, kind of mount & blade meets Civ meets Stalker, but not massively polished. Is this Alpha footage?
A couple of crates and/or some more wall piping down the left side would probably liven it up a bit.
Looks a little shiny... almost like it's made out of plastic. Other than that it looks really nice.
Working fine now.
This looks really, really damn cool.
"discontinued Source project"
LIVE!!!! Now go free and prosper.
Ok, that actually looks pretty damn good for alpha footage.
Sorry about getting pissy over the facebook stuff the other day. We're just impatient, if it got you 1000 unique "likes", and therefore at least 1000 people knowing the name and general overview of your game, as well as presumably watching this footage, that can't be a bad thing.
Keep up the good work!
Awesome, can't wait to experience it in motion.
I begrudgingly did it and "637 people like this"?
That video isn't coming out any time soon is it -_-
Of course if you release a video of awesome alpha footage, send it to some big game sites along with some info on the game and it's progress, like RPS, PCG, GiantBomb etc... you might have more people aware of the game and therefore more people willing to like it on Facebook.
Holding back initial gameplay footage from fans when you don't actually have that many fans because nobodies actually seen any gameplay footage yet and only people who follow source mods are likely to know who the hell you are and what the hell this is, seems a little silly.
Feel free to disagree, but imo this is a perfectly legitimate if consistently annoying marketing technique being used at completely the wrong time.
Looks great considering the engine. Scrolling through the screenshots I presumed it was UDK. Nice work, and a very nice gun, looks awesome with the silencer.
Wow, didn't expect a bit of motion to make so much difference. The prototype was a very good looking unity game, this is probably now the best looking Unity game out there. Awesome stuff.
What about Mod support? Also a good single player campaign. Also not being bugged to crap for months on the pc rendering it practically unplayable despite dedicated server support alla Black Ops.
Colour me Cynical -_-
The gun sfx are awesome, really intense, gj with those.
Getting permission won't be a hassle if you don't have it already. Just ask them and as long as you agree to include them in the credits they'll be fine with it.
From what you've been posting here it looks like it was a well deserved award. Extremely exiting project.
Awesome screenshot, looking forward to hearing about what you've been getting up to.
