I would have warned you sooner, but you don't have any sort of instant messenger listed on any of your profiles or sites! And I kept forgetting to email you.
Anyway, it says "December," but its actually a January MOTM, since we posted it so late. Expect that to be changed soon-ish.
Snagged a press copy from Valve, but it crashed on me before I got a chance to play it any.
Anyone who condemns Garry for "selling out" is an idiot. He's doing something he loves and getting paid for it. Isn't that what most people want in life? To have a job doing something they love? If that's an affront to your morals, then just don't buy it.
If you actually took the time to look at that zombie mod I supposedly run, you'd see that I'm listed as a "Voice Actor" on it. More specifically, I did some rewrites to the radio dialog used in it as a favor to another staff member. My voice isn't actually in it at all. I don't run it, I don't know much about it and my involvement is absolutely minimal at best. I don't even know what the bloody thing looks like.
I rather resent all of the accusations that I had it in for this mod and have no business reviewing it if I'm not a huge Postal fan. If you'll look at Eternal Damnation's feature listing, you'll notice that the only other written article about it on the site is an interview I conducted with the team over a year ago when I first started writing on this site. No one else on staff really cares about it that I'm aware of, but I wanted to promote it then and I snatched at the opportunity to review it when I heard it got released. I've been following this mod for quite a long time and have been anticipating it greatly, but I'm also not going to let that hype create an unfair bias towards what I perceive to be a lackluster final product.
But, why even bother defending myself? If you think I cheated, didn't finish it, hate everything Postal and refuse to enjoy any zombie mods that aren't specifically made by my own two hands, then alright. I still stand by what I wrote. If you stand by your mod, that's awesome, I totally respect that, but don't try to discredit me just to further your own agenda.
My wrote:As a reviewer on a site that covers mostly independently made games, we catch a huge amount of flack from our readers for criticizing a game harshly. “It wasn’t made by a big company, so you can’t critique it as such,” our detractors say, to which I agree. A mod, no matter how polished, should not be compared to a retail product. I can overlook some glaring bugs, graphical anomalies, lackluster voice acting and some bad transitions in a mod that offers a huge amount of new content and lasts as long as a full retail game. I really can. However, it also needs to be fun and it needs to perform decently.
All the hard work in the world doesn't change the fact that it isn't very fun to play. If you didn't want people to respond to it honestly, then you shouldn't have released it to the public.
As I said, if you can overlook the flaws of Postal 2, then there is no reason not to play this mod. I'm sure, once a patch or two is released, this'll be a much better product. But I also can't swallow developer promises of what "might be" and have to focus on what is actually there.
I'll gladly write a follow-up article on it after you patch it up, if you wish. And thank you for not flaming me outright, like people have done in the past.
:( Damn, sorry 'bud. I really thought that'd do it.
On the FEAR thing, go into your graphics options and see if "Pixel Doubling" is on. I know that can do some weird *** things to your resolution.
Hey, get on some sort of messenger?
I've never warned you before, **** head.
Bah-duh-CHEEee! RIMSHOT!
Anybody is cooler than you.
What's your point?
Damn. If I had the extra cash, I'd just trade you for the gift cards. As it is, I'm still waiting to get paid for my last article.
Well, I'll keep an eye out. I might be able to fandangle something with the local EBGames people.
That's why they call me Speedy Joe.
Or....you know, not.
No worries! It happens.
Read my post?
If you can paypal me the money, I'll go buy the other Wii for you.
Take your time with it, guys. But release it soon! I've been anticipating this mod more than I have any retail-released game in recent memory. XD
I don't think the "You're on thin ice, buddy" comments are entirely necessary.
He said something to the effect of, "It must be a crappy mod if you can barely type."

The status of all mods in the voting will be posted during Phase 2, which begins in a day or two.
Awesome, this looks like a good contender against Deathball, one of my all time favorite UT2004 mods. I'll definitely be checking this out!
Holy ******* ****!
That's some AMAZING media. :O Hell, that stuff looks better than the Doom 3 content itself.
Try clicking here.
No one has said it yet, so allow me to be the first:
"It's a trap!"
Nah, seriously, those shots look prety damn awesome. It almost makes 2142 look worth owning.
You were on 13 minutes ago, why not get on MSN?
It is if you've never played a good first person shooter before.
That said, my review was WAY less harsh than what 95 percent of gaming sites said about it, so there.

Ooooo, loving the new icon!
Won't be able to make it the same time today.
My computer rebooted and then started getting all these nasty windows errors that I spent a few hours trying to fix.
Luckily, I think I have all the problems sorted out for now...
