I make minecraft videos in my spare time and I love it! :D
Check out my youtube channel which is linked here on my page.
Remember to subscribe if you like what you see!
I also help out answering questions for MERP fans :)
I answered your question over on MERP's page, keep checking back for more info! :)
Wow, that's really good!
Why don't you apply to be a concept artist for MERP? You wouldn't be under any pressure so long as you posted semi-frequently ;)
But from what I can tell, your anatomy is very good :)
I kinda like it there...
Haha, I beat your comment on Moddb by one second! :)
We answered your question over on our page! :)
Yep, KidStein said it, we can't do that and we wouldn't want to anyway :)
INcase some of you haven't seen, check out the concept video on youtube! Should be on moddb soon enough though!
We need to take into account the sheer amount of work that comes with porting a mod of this size.
It was alot smaller in Morrowind, so it wasn't that hard.
We understand that it would take a long time planning and the resources we would need.
Either way, people shouldn't see this as just another modification, it's basically a whole other game, much bigger than Oblivion and it will probably be bigger than Skyrim too. So whatever we choose to do, it will work out just fine :)
Yes, there will be three options presented to you at the beginning of the game.
You can be a ring bearer, participate in the white council quests or just go about your business as you see fit :)
Right so, after we get the concept video up and running on Moddb, and this next merge is done we will be looking into showing you some more cities, as it seems quite popular, some of which you haven't seen before! There may even be a video for each city, make sure to keep up the support guys :)
They will be fully voice acted don't you worry about that! :)
and the final product is some time away from now unfortunately.
The next update :)
What would you guys, as fans, want to see from us?
Yeah, we are forever sorry, but as much as we would like to, we can't read the future :)
If only we had some sort of Palantir...
Which problems with interiors? :)
I don't think there ever was any problems, but we couldn't work on them because of the merge if that's what you mean.
It's hard to give a date because so much can go wrong, or so much can go right, sorry to be so vague!
I replied to your question!
Remember to keep checking back at our page for updates as we talk alot in the comments! :)
Don't doubt anything with us dear friend!
I mean we can't make miracles and bend the engine completely, we have to do what we can with what it gives us, but you've seen the drastic improvement on combat alone.
Who is to say that we can't have you feeling the immersion of huge battlefields? ;)
They are very similar in the ways of making interiors and exteriors :)
There will be plenty of books that document things that happened outside of the movies, Telling you all about the shire and it's history - things like that.
Thank you for your support, we hope you'll have as much fun playing it as we do making it! ;)
We answered your questions about MERP over on our page, check them out and if you are wondering about anything, just throw us a comment there and check back regularly!
We are on it everyday listening to our fans and taking responses! :)
Damn! You beat me to it! :D
NOw, the last thing I am able to answer is the models and such like.
We feel that if the current resources we have are not suitable or up to scratch, then we will re-do them and try to improve them. That said, we aren't redoing EVERYTHING! There will be quite a few things from the vanilla game, because as you said, it is a massive time consumer just to go over another chair, or a small hedge. We also ask for permission from some already available mods too, because this saves so much time and it brings the modding community together and can also lead to new applicants if they approve of our work!
I'm sorry 'I could not answer the first two questions, I didn't really understand what you were trying to convey, maybe you could re pharse them?
For the first question, we are implementing an optional choice called realism mode, where your character will be affected by more practical gameplay changes, from hunger to sleep, to also by maybe being weighed down in water if they are carrying to much stuff.
Maybe you can wait for another member of the team to answer your questions more fully than I did, or elaborate in places where I did not.
Please keep the questions up guys! It shows us there is interest in this mod, and that's what we want. Who knows, you could even provide us with an idea! ;)
The hours of content is going to be extreme, merely because there are three main options you can do, You can take part in the main story line, as the ringbearer, and do everything Frodo did and this will take up alot of time as you can imagine, the writers of the main quest are making pretty good progress but it takes some time and the main quest will be the most fleshed out and padded part of our project. You will not have free roam after the main quest, because the ring bearer goes to the undying lands so no free roam for that. However, there are still two more options, you have the free roam option, which will incorporate so many side quests it's ridiculous and then also the last option is what we call the white council questline, this will involve you going round and participating in all the fun things that the ringbearer didn't, i.e Helm's Deep and so on. so the hours of gameplay are definitely going to be alot more than Oblivions, especially when it comes to travelling! ;)
I can answer a few of these :)
We will have voice acting, complete and everything. The reason being, we put an advert out for a few lines of dialogue, and we received so many applicants it was crazy! We will definitely be doing this, and it won't end up being so time consuming. I'm sure when the time comes we will dedicate a few people to organizing the voice actors and giving them their lines and so on because it would be a terrible rabble otherwise, but it will not ultimately mean we lose alot of time and it will be among the last things we finally implement.
It started off lore based, but the declined into the world of just another mmorpg, or atleast that's what I've come to believe. However, it is still probably the most lore abiding game out there :)
LOTRO is alot better when you play it with friends, because a lot of LOTR just makes you feel like there should be a fellowship. The MERP team were deciding whether to make one on a server so we could all play with fans as there are a few of us who play it. Admittedly, it isn't the most lore-worthy game, I've heard about having goats as mounts! But I wouldn't know who said it... ;)
Yeah, it would be cool, but I'm afraid we won't create anything like this. For that you have Lord of the Rings Online ;) I guess if anyone wanted to mod it so that you could have multiplayer then they can, but we wouldn't have anything to do with it :)
It would be very hard to shut us down. Seeing as we are non-profit and are a fan project we know our rights. They could send a C&D letter but we would not have to take note of it because we aren't truly infringing.
Trust our judgement, Maegfaer is working on a degree in political science so he knows his stuff ;)
Eight months later and people have come and gone, but we are still as strong as ever :)
I think there will be an option on the installer for that, a list with lots of Graphical enhancing and also Performance enhancing mods to make our world look and feel just that much better :)
A tutorial on how to tweak the ini. will probably be provided too ;)
It will be optional though, because some people may not want any of these .
That would be awesome :)
