Just replied below, so I'll just copypaste this: We have just released an update on Steam, and will soon get it released for Linux and Mac here on Desura (and Humble) that enables cross-platform multiplayer (in beta phase but should be good). So once all versions are updated to v1.15 you should be able to join Windows/Mac games with a Linux Trine 2. :)

No clear date on the Windows DRM free version at the moment, but it's still planned.

That's a great question with no easy answer at the moment. So right now here's what I'd suggest: If you know you will buy the Wii U, then wait for the game for Wii U. If not, then I wouldn't worry about it too much, you can go for the PC version now - we're going to make a big splash on Wii U but we will also keep our PC folks happy although I can't make any surefire promises right now.

It's still in "beta" but it's really rather final. :) We'll get out of beta in late June most likely.

Yes. :) That's why it takes so long (we need to sync all platforms etc, it's a lot of work and right now we have some other stuff going on as well).

No updates yet, we have a bigger one coming in late June. If you have any problems then we may have some solutions/temp fixes on our forums at Frozenbyte.com

Yeah this is a bit of an anomaly due to our complex platform issues. I think Desura only wants DRM-free versions, and we don't yet have Windows DRM-free, so hence the game is not here or anywhere but Steam. That said, we will release the DRM free version soon-ish, i.e. in the summer I imagine, so that will then finally put this to rest. So right now you can only play on Linux or Mac. However, if you've bought the game and want to play on Windows, please get in touch and we can sort that out (sorry for the trouble).

Thanks for that, will try to remember to suggest that as well until we get it fixed. :)

I'll copy myself from earlier: There may be an x64 Linux version in the future, one of the main things holding this back is the fact that some of the middleware we use does not have x64 available, so our hands are a little bit tied with that. We may find a way to go around this though, but I can't make any promises at the moment.

We have only tested the Xbox 360 Controller. The game does feature extensive support for reconfiguring everything, so there's a chance other controllers work fine as well or that you can emulate the X360 one. We will release a Linux demo eventually (in the summer) so that will help figuring it out for good.

This has been noted, no promises right now though.

We'll release the Windows DRM free version on Desura eventually. No timeframe yet though.

And yeah multiple mice and keyboard support is only on Windows in our games. I'm not 100% sure of the reason why it is like this for Trine 2 because I think we use SDL for it, but I suppose it's just more complicated somehow. I'll try to ask the programmers at some point.

Ah great to hear (and I should've read the later posts too before replying earlier heh). Enjoy! :)

It could have some bug - you can get in touch with Humble support, or if that doesn't help with ours - Frozenbyte.com

Could be related to other fullscreen issues, so our eventual update might help... but might be it's something else too, hard to say right now. In general the windowed mode is the best way to play at the moment anyhow, so let's see after the update if this problem still persists.

Ah, sorry. We have a temp FAQ at Frozenbyte.com but doesn't sounds like it's one of those... Might be best to get in touch with support so we can take a deeper look - Frozenbyte.com

This is a known issue at the moment, we'll hopefully fix it in the next version. Use windowed for the time being (sorry). :)

The keys will be added to the download page soon. It shouldn't take too long I hope, so hang in there. :)

Price has been updated, sorry about that. If you've bought the game elsewhere it's best to email us and I can see some solutions - Frozenbyte.com .

Yeah this was the plan, however due to popular pressure we caved in and released it on Desura as-is, so we'll need to update it when we get the first proper Linux update out... luckily the game has been quite stable so not a whole lot of problems (mostly the fullscreen issue and then some individual things).

Yeah I think we use Windows-specific libraries for that, RawMouse or something, which isn't available for Linux. Trine 2 uses SDL all the way I believe, and I think it works in Linux too (not 100% sure though).

Yeah the 64-bit binaries were discussed in the Trine 2 page (in short for everyone else: some of the middleware we use does not yet have 64-bit available so we're a bit stuck, although not forever possibly but no promises yet).

The sound is more curious - you can either check the forums ( Frozenbyte.com ) or send an email ( Frozenbyte.com ) and we can see. Oh and the old Linux FAQ might help too: Frozenbyte.com

Indeed there is none. We probably won't release a Linux demo due to a few reasons... Sorry! (But we will do so for Trine 2 eventually.)

Hi guys, Joel here, sorry for the absence! I've updated the price of the game so it's now $9.99 as it's elsewhere too - if anyone just bought the game at the earlier price let me know and we can think of something.

Hi guys, Joel from Frozenbyte here, sorry for the little delay. A few answers to popular questions:

1) Yes we will have Desura keys in our own store (soonish)

2) There will be a Linux demo but not sure on the timeframe (probably around the same time as we go from 'beta' to proper release, so in a few weeks/ a couple of months)

3) There will be a Windows standalone demo too, probably around the same time as our DRM free (i.e. non-Steam) release which will then be included here on Desura as well

4) There may be an x64 Linux version in the future, one of the main things holding this back is the fact that some of the middleware we use does not have x64 available, so our hands are a little bit tied with that. We may find a way to go around this though, but I can't make any promises at the moment.

opossums, please get in touch and we can sort that out - Frozenbyte.com

I hope this helps, and thanks a lot for supporting us. :)

Best,
Joel
