Joebama, one of God's own prototypes; too weird to live, but too rare to die.

Cry of Fear apparently won many awards or some **** but I cannot fathom how it had won all of these awards.
The game is clunky as hell, but I liked the theme and atmosphere of this game. But it really is just a game that is worth playing through only once. The clunkiness of how everything works in this game turns me off from playing it another time. Another thing that also affected my rating for this game is the extremely unprofessional behaviour of the main developer. Acting like a jackass on someone else's project and providing absolutely no criticism does not earn you any bonus points.

Typical "HD" pack for something that doesn't need it and doesn't even have the mapping to back it up really. Aside from that, a ton of stolen models galore. Avoid.

Excellent level design and awesome, but somewhat easy combat sequences abound in this pint-sized modification for Half-Life. I do have a few complaints however. On almost all of the boxes, they all used the same gib model which is the standard wood gibs, a little variation would have been better. And for some reason, the area where the Pit Drones are and later a teleporting-in Shock Trooper causes my game to crash if I die and reload a save. Though, I suppose this review is still somewhat biased since I was a tester! If you loved Opposing Force, give this a shot! I'm sure you'll like it.
P.S. Make a WON theme plx.

Literally one of THE BEST mods that the Half-Life Modding Community has to offer. Brilliant backstory and kickass combat sequences galore in this great mod. It offers a new character, new setting, and some new weapons at the player's disposal. If you haven't played this already, get it now! If you have played this already, it's time to give it a go again.

Provides some fun for a while until the market place scene on up. It's awful and broken leading me to believe that the GameWise review on the front page was a paid review or the mod author and the reviewer were just good friends. The chopper fight was imbalanced and downright stupidly hard. The player is expected to blow up the chopper with dynamite that is stationary around the market, what a joke! The mapping was sub-par at best. Some maps were nice, but most were just terrible. Also, why are all the hostages just Security Guards and Scientists? They could have at least taken the time to reskin them.

An overall enjoyable modification, great mapping, decent storyline, and fun combat. The only problem I ever had with this mod was the osprey sequence. Sometimes it would not change the level after blowing up.

Holy Jesus Christ was this hard. Incredibly hard. Stupidly hard. I played on the most difficult difficulty and man, this made me rage so many times. Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable experience to play through, and the mapping was fairly decent.

A lot of fun to play with it's combat sequences and it's two different endings giving it some replay value!
