The hell are you on about? Comrade is the correct spelling.
I thought I recognised this. :P
Panthers, I'd say. That and German industry was trying to spit out ATLEAST 8 different 'main' production vehicles by 1944. I don't think it could be stretched much more.
Loving the new version.
My only problem was that it crashed once when some troops surrendered.
It's only happened once though and I'll look into what the error actually was if it happens again.
Yeah, ok. But retaliating on a mod page the coolgman just happens to be affiliated with is not the way to go. It's not fair to joebama who hasn't actually done anything.
Indeed. While I may not agree with what coolgman has to say, that is certainly not the way to handle criticism.
Infact I've now lost alot of respect for rumpel.
I think he just uploaded a bunch of thumbnails...
Fantastic work for a pen drawing!
I can see this causing friendly fire incidents on both sides if there's ever and American-Iranian war.
I don't think it's Russian.
Ok I've seen some fairly unrelated stuff to tanks here, but this takes the cake.
Rip & Tear!
haha, I agree.
Usually because it shows them dramatically in combat. Whereas most real pictures are just shots of them stationary somewhere.
That is the coolest looking leopard 2 I've ever seen.
Old enemies, New friends.
Yeah as integral said, most Germans tanks had them.
They fix bugs and address gameplay issues in every single update. Just because they don't publicly announce bug/gameplay fixes before patches are released doesn't mean they don't happen.
Aw, this was all i had to save me from my friend's destructive sherman hordes. :P
I really do like the idea of needing bushes for the camouflage ability though.
edit: was this it? Static.stomp.com.sg
It was both. Only this was the 'PzKpfw NbFz VI', not the 'PzKpfw VI'.
Lost my ****.
It's rather unfortunate that battlefield 2 suits the gameplay best. FH would be amazing on a more competent engine.
I think he means lack of a cupola.
I was wondering if this would reappear a few days ago actually.
This looks great, I have high hopes for the future!
it'd be cool if you could balance them by giving them limited fuel and ammunition, but afaik you can't do that without extensive coding if at all in the CoH engine?
Italy and North Africa.
More info here btw.
Though not entirely impossible (referring to your German tanks comment) as various nations sold Syria some old panzer IVs in the 60s and they saw service during the water war and the 6 day war of '67.
Oh god, not this again.
Pretty sure they are there... somewhere. Some tanks are hard to make out because of the angles they're at.
Think what you will then, i won't try and change your mind.
He references David M. Glantz who is usually of Soviet bias and if he's saying it aswell, then it's usually true.
I think you should read that link do0med posted.
I'm not sure why people don't realise this but both this and the p.1000 ratte were cancelled in 1943.
i'm totally fine with that.
But someone getting angry at me and then claiming something they don't have evidence for is ridiculous..
No, i mean look at the dates. :P
Almost a week late with this, hope you still see it.
Me 321 Gigant
Role Cargo glider
First flight 25 February 1941
Actually, It would have been a wise choice to halt panzer IV & Tiger production in favour of the panther since it's argueabley the most balanced tank of WWII (Hell, some people even call it the first MBT). They managed to get 5000 produced from 1943-1945 so it would probably be worth it in the long run.
He means that there was more than 1 citadel.
Actually doesn't raising the bar say they were 'flashed' to earth in many major cities?
Don't worry, if it's anything like reality the Germans will have developed Anti-tank weapons and tactics much further than the British. So if they do encounter one of the few German tanks i'd say the infantry would struggle to defeat it abit more than the Germans would with a British tank.
Size essentially just makes you a bigger target. It doesn't help to have a bigger gun when you're being overwhelmed by several smaller things.
Hey, it's that guy from youtube.
No, the IS-2 was not bigger than the king tiger. You can look that up for yourself. The soviets had some post-war heavy tank EXPERIMENTS but they went any further than that, the soviet union proceeded to go with small and light designs as evident by the use of an autoloader in future designs and the cramped interiors of soviet tanks.
The soviets have never had a preference for heavy tanks, get over it.
"It looked at me funny..."
Technically this image is not allowed. I refer to the main description. "simply everything with straps, armor and gun :D"
I've been over this damnit, the Germans had the Panzer III and IV during the Polish campaign, not just the czech tanks and light panzers.
haha, close enough
you certainly know what you're talking about. As chadaface said i have to appreciate the fact that you don't just start a flame war.
This needs more attention! It's one of the only WW1 FPS games in existence.
How long has work been going on this?
I hope you have a historical advisor.
I always read that as dead mau five
That said, kind of sick of seeing the IS-4 and IS-7. Almost seems as though they're the only tanks in the damn game.
What's up with the turret of that t-55?
I still don't really like the use of MoW models as it limits creativity and alot of them don't look right in the company of heroes engine.
They called it cuckoo iirc
No it couldn't. And it is actually a rather difficult tank to mass produce, hence why only 400 of them were actually built.
But WWII had still happened, the progress of tanks tanks was still the same up until the late 50s.
That said one country wouldn't keep the same tank in service for over 100 years.
Annnnd how is a king tiger related to the fallout series?
Yeah, the range and penetration system is pretty odd. One of the other reasons i stopped playing it was because 70% of all the games i played in it just ended up as heavy tank battles.
Men of war is a very good game for tank battles, i used to play it alot up until april last year. And i agree WoT is pretty unbalanced and annoying (Artillery, anyone?), i just picked it up again a week or 2 ago to try it out again.
I stopped playing MoW though because of some cheaters i encountered a few times and made me ragequit.
Recently got my panzer IV. I finally feel like a man. ;_;
I said MBTs are essentially heavy tanks because they've taken on their roles such as mass breakthroughs and longrange tank combat, as well as technical advantages. As for the armour, i was never trying to prove that thickness didn't matter, just that it doesn't do much against sabot rounds and that these days you can't just solely rely on it.
I see what you mean. But MBTs essentially ARE heavy tanks now that i think of it, they've just taken on board better elements from successful tank designs and fused them together. It's a very strange arguement to pick at as not as much is known about how armour works these days and it's seemingly become more confusing. I see where you're coming from with armour thickness, but it only matters with some projectiles. If you've had a sabot round fired at you it doesn't really matter how thick your armour is, you're screwed anyway. If you have an rpg fired at you in a very complicated way, armour thickness does matter but that's a rather confusing subject to get into as these days you also need to take into account what the armour's made of, what RPG round was fired at it, does it have ERA?, etc etc.
That's true, but armour no longer works in the same way, guns no longer fire the same projectile they did 70 years ago. Heavy tanks these days would be more useless in my eyes no only would they face similar problems as they did back then, but the thick armour wouldn't matter. Any modern tank gun would cut it open like a knife going through flesh.
Fuel... was a problem because the german heavy tanks consumed so damn much. That combined with the fact that they were continuously losing territory. Tank production was hindered by the bombings, not as much as people often exaggerate but it did hurt it. For example, it was almost the sole reason the Germans only manage to build 492 king tigers instead of say... 700. I'll admit no matter what they never would've reached the full production order of 1300 even if there were no bombings, but they would no doubt have produced more than they did.
With the matter of the IS-2, with tank development going as rapidly as it was in ww2 the Russians had obviously figured out a way of somewhat limiting the capability of the 88 as well as giving their heavy tanks abit more punch (However i still think the 100mm would have been a better choice than the 122). All in all though i think the heavy tanks were just a huge waste of resources on both sides and tank production should've been left to the panthers and t-34 as they were where the future of tanks lay. Heavy tanks are good for nothing more than engaging eachother and destroying heavy bunkers, They have no true offensive capabillity.
TL;DR: heavy tank production is pointless.
I'm not even sure why i wrote all that, but there's my views. lol.
The T-34 had significantly greater losses than Tigers. The real worry for the tiger was the IS-2. It's just by 1943 the soviets could EASILY recover from any losses they had. With Allied bombing runs combined with the complex manufacturing proceedure of their tanks, the germans could not keep up. Not to mention when you have one really, slow powerful thing versuses several speedy, medium capable tanks, the powerful thing isn't going going to keep up and with eventually get flanked.
The panther was a better match for the t-34 than the tiger.
Belongs in all 3 of the main groups really :D
The ratte was just a myth, the nazis were really working on a giant pool to have a party with everyone in. They started a war with them to keep it a suprise. Unfortunately the war got out of hand and it was destroyed in the process.
lol, thanks. Sorry if i seemed hostile with my original comment.
Not exactly obvious they're snorkels.
Anyway, all i was doing was giving a more obvious description. Can we drop it at that please?
Idea very similar to that of vault 101. Though i understand it was possible to open the door in that. This, i take it, is not.
nah, it's alright.
Why is this in the tank lovers group? >.>
Ah, here we go
Looks like they based the design on the jagdpanzer 4 or whatever it was
It is indeed the tiger(P). The chassis was reused for the Ferdinand/Elefant tank destroyers
Oh no he's not. Check out his other work before you even think about hiring him.
Better use it wisely
:| *Leaves the room*
I doubt it would be untouched.
The whole area would be full of radiation and would be damaged in reality.
:D this is gonna rule
OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!111!!! i liek tis!!!!!111111
This mod is a dream come true
i played the alpha and i love it :D
great models ;)
yeah i agree
