They actually did create a scratch built tiger replica for this film: Wehrmacht-awards.com
However it was left unused for unknown reasons. The one you see here was based on the is-2, to make it look like the tiger P I imagine.
Because this isn't blue shift, it's a re-envisioning. Technically they can add or take whatever they want.
ignore my post
Just this one.
All the Ferdinands had the extra armour though.
This is a f*cking good replica. About as close as we'll get to a functional a7v.
The A7V's main problem was its mobility. Being a big metal box, it struggled with the battlefield of ww1.
On paper it was superior to the mark I-IV though.
Unless it has something incapable of destroying armour, I generally regard assault guns as a sub-classification of a tank.
It does exist as a concept, but just not officially under the designation 'v-44'.
There's something I like about that camo.
'tacticians' being the key word there. ;)
Also, helicopters aren't exactly built to fight eachother.
Aw, this was all i had to save me from my friend's destructive sherman hordes. :P
I really do like the idea of needing bushes for the camouflage ability though.
This is ok, but dear god don't spam 10,000 pictures at once.
Nah, I know this has been posted somewhere back there.
I'm pretty sure you posted this a while ago, tanker. :P
And by a while I mean well over a year, so it doesn't really matter.
Oh, you mean warfare films in general.
Still, tanks don't make much of an appearance. And when they do they're usually genuine.
I have to say though, the S-tank is the coolest thing ever.
It's like a new trend just to slap ERA on every old tank you have.
"THERE, GOOD AS NEW"
Err.. Has there ever been a t-34 in a film WITH hollywood graphics? Eastern front films are so rare in Hollywood that that's never actually been done afaik.
I made this over a year ago, haha.
Pretty much the same premise with the monster anyway.
I don't even know how many times this image has been posted now. X_X
Also just to clarify, the nuclear tests weren't done by us, they were just done in our territory by the British.
Very much an improvement over your previous work. I look forward to seeing more.
Knew I was forgetting something.
The leopard 2 has extra armour fitted to the face of the turret. Not to mention most western MBTs still have loaders whereas in most eastern countries they've been replaced by autoloaders.
Err... not exactly.
The British operated the P-51 under lend-lease but as far as i know never produced them?
I mean you just need to look at the name of the company that produced it to know it wasn't a British plane.
"North American Aviation"
Yeah unless there's under 6 months (Even that's stretching it) between posts i don't really bother pointing them out anymore.
Good image, overly patriotic caption.
I was actually confused by the GW tiger and mistook it for a dickermax or something.
Also, might i ask what that allied AFV is at the bottom in the centre?
I can image the confusion one would have if they were approached by one of these.
Which one? ... lol.
Yeah, this is just a replica.
I don't think this works the same way as the one in the link you posted.
The magnet one is just silly outright. :P
I think you've wrapped this up nicely :D
Just making it clear that i have no problems with the KV-1 (Except maybe it was undergunned later in the war). With that said, i'd say although the KV-2 may have played a part in preventing the Germans from reaching moscow, but their main problem was that they were completely unprepared for such a winter. As a result, none of their tanks would start in some cases and many men froze to death. The Soviets on the other hand, were obviously well prepared and could counterattack at a time where the German army had no strength.
Regarding distances, it may have to drive 500 metres to defend something, but when the enemy is gone it's going to have to drive further obviously.
On the problems themselves, the KV chassis wasn't originally built to take such a turret and one could imagine the extra weight of the turret would take a heavy (lol) toll on the suspension and transmission. On top of that, the KV had problems with the clutch being too lightly constructed.
Also, according to 'Russian Tanks of World War II Stalin's Armored Might', the 41st tank division had 33 KV-2s and only 5 of those were not broken down.
By useless i mean the fact that there were often more of them being serviced than were in action from mechanical breakdowns alone.
They may not be useless in combat, but there were so little of them in combat a time that the difference they made was insignificant. The idea of a Heavy tank in WWII was doomed from the start in my eyes. The only really significant success they had was at prokhorovka. All the other successes, such as Billote's rampage through stone in 1940 or the KV-2 that held up the German column or even Wittman's rampage in 1944, were just tactical successes that contributed nothing to the overall battle.
With that said, I don't think the heavy tank concept is completely worthless. The KV-1 and Tiger 1 were brilliant designs, with both having some great success in various stages of the war. I just don't think the KV-2 is a good design because of its extremely limited mobility, overtaxed engine, limited reload rate, high profile, etc.. It could be a great tank in the right hands, but it was too slow and cumbersome to have a real impact on the war. Also the fact that in 1941 the Soviet army was a real mess and there was no coordination for any KV-2 units or anything.
Similar case with the king tigers, too unreliable and far too little of them produced to have any impact on the war. Though they did rack up some crazy kill ratios, it couldn't outmatch Soviet or American production.
Wait, he was a tanker?
He just got about 200x more awesome.
OMG! it looks so real!
Yeah, in the thumbnail i thought it WAS a new model.
I laughed at this arguement more than the actual joke.
This stuff is confusing as hell.
But hey, atleast it looks cool.
That red 109 looks like something the baron would fly if he were around long enough. :P
in that case, this tank is just an ordinary t-55. It comes up for ramses II in google images but it's not.
You have to ask, why would such a recent tank that has never seen combat be in a museum?
This: Img228.imageshack.us Is the Ramses II
super pershing? Is it just a reskinned pershing or have you actually implemented a different model?
Whoa, that camo actually looks like it'd be effective from a distance.
I like this image. Mostly because i haven't seen many images of 35(t)'s in combat though.
Nice find, tanker.
It'd be about as useful as a t-35 tbh.
It's a beached... train. Pretty damn cool.
There was even a balloon tank fad there for a while. :P
Indeed, though i still love this image.
Pity this isn't ingame yet.
Because the cats they've named them after are usually the toughest animals you can encounter in the wild.
Then again, so did the British with the tortise and flying elephant.
I find it interesting that the Germans had a super heavy tank program going at the end of both world wars.
Ultimate low budget flying.
Indeed. The most realiable sources are books generally. Though there is some good info on the internet.
Ultrapack 3.0RC apparently.
Your mapping seems to have improved considerably!
This has great potential!
I found it in a news source. I'll try and dig it up again, can't remember who wrote it exactly.
Yeah, it is true that the US was more forgiving to prisoners and the German populace. But this was at a point where Hitler thought he could still stop the Soviets by devoting more resources to the east. However this would have just delayed the inevitable.
The thing is, they're designed to fight a conventional enemy. Not people hiding in caves or amongst crowds.
Though from what i've read, they made some miscalculations about the air pressure or temperature or something like that and that's why they weren't so 'stealthy' during the Bin Laden raid.
... For the Germans.
By 1918 British and French tanks were everywhere. The Germans did have a resonable tank force, but it was nowhere near the size of the other nation's tank forces.
I posted a similar one a while back, but it's not the same.
Watch out for that block!
Those skirts look awesome.
I hope this is a joke. World of Tanks is as far from a simulator as you can get.
oooh yeah, that's a swedish babe right there.
Yeah, this is the ISU-152BM
The normal ISU-152 is much less impressive.
I've seen this photo before, i can't remember whether it's 'shopped or the variant with the longer barrel.
haha, i agree!
Indeed he does.
Rise of flight.
I think you're just trolling at this point.
Who said it was south ossetia?
But anyway, the point i'm trying to make is, it's retarded to post images of destroyed tanks because you don't like a country without a reason. Even with one, this is considered 'propaganda'.
However, if it was for historical reasons not fueled by hate for any nation the i would not complain.
Because the soviets fought in the Battle of Poland too.
As for the mod: It's nice to see something different for a change.
Not exactly since it shows the t-34s are about to be blown up by panzerfausts and panzerschrecks.
oh and what would a 'panzernest' be?
Awesome doctrines. Though I'm curious as to what these 'foreign tanks' are.
This looks amazing! I wish i'd heard of it before.
And this is the German supplied tree?
I take it this is the soviet supplied china tree?
ABRAM IS BEST TANK OF ALL TANK. IT IS INVINSIBAL ANd CanT BLOW UP. T90 SUX AND CANT DESTRY ABRAM.
But seriously, it's not a bad tank but not invincible. ;)
Just putting that out there for all those 12 year old tards.
Can't disagree with you there.
No italians yet?
It's just strange that every account of it seems to be the complete opposite of another one it doesn't seem right.
And i think the sherman 76w and the T-34/85 are pretty even in terms of combat, it all comes down to what hands they're in. For example in north korea they both engaged eachother fairly successfully but i think the shermans got the upper hand in the end. Had the t-34 been in soviet hands, it may have been a different story.
damnit wot spam.
Indeed, the subject details are very sketchy. Some sources say the Russians loved them, some say they hated them.
Mideast crisis? I need to dig up my copy of generals.
Yeah. H-35 > R-35
I honestly don't believe the short barrel panzer IV and the t-34 are comparable. It proved extremely difficult to destroy one with it.
I also laughed at the crusader and panzer 3 in the light tanks.
Those French tanks make the Japanese ones look good.
This seems completely unrelated to the actual story of the mod.
That makes more sense.
Or maybe it's not a pun? I don't believe they would put that much detail into a t-55 model for a visual play on words.
'shop. The Panzer I chassis couldn't take the weight of the panzer 3 turret. Not to mention it wouldn't fit.
Does he have any extra traits? Or is it just to add more variety and indicate he's sort of from a different regiment/part of the combine?
The turret isn't fitted to the platform properly :\
you should make it one time use only
They did infact capture and use fireflies, the Germans used virtually every single vehicle they could get their hands on, even the old FT-17s they captured in france.
Sure they had quite a few losses, but i have to agree with you here too comrade 50 million is a complete overstatement.
The panzer IV and III could probably have engaged them, but little numbers of them were fielded at the time.
So, DMS and 1C have given everyone permission to use their models?
Obyekt 279, now this? SUPERFUTURESOVIETS
It also tried to kill Otto Carius D:
Why do i feel as though i'm about to be hit by a load of missile exaust?
Where is this?
Not fun when you're going up against panzers D:
It's about time someone put this on moddb.
had little to no effect on the war, but still and interesting design.
well, yeah. But i'm just saying it's interesting is all.
interesting, i've always thought the concept of the assault gun was phased out after ww2.
I've seen that turret mounted on a number of different hulls. Wheeled or tracked, i've never known what it was called.
ah, thanks to both of you for clearing that up. It's just usually when something has an acronym at the end of it, it's usually upgraded or something.
So, is there any major difference between the n.A. version and the normal one?
The one to the left is the most realistic.
You still need to change the skin on that tank, it looks terrible.
Hell, even a biography or something would be interesting.
Had the 150 or 170mm kwk been invented, it could've made for an interesting battle.
Yeah i see where you're coming from....
Anything's better than a sherman
If the battle of kursk is heaven, i'd hate to see hell.
On a more serious note, good work dude.
saw that when i went to britain last year. Pretty good museum.
Anyone find it ironic that he's the one that posted the picture up yet he needed to ask whether it was based on the f-14? :P
C&C cutscene? The cheesy cgi makes me think of it.
Yeah thought i saw it before.
That was the name of it! (I forgot it so i just got it from the bf1918 mod) :P
Still, i'd imagine it'd have it's flaws. How the hell would they recover it if it broke down? :P
As for this, one hit on a wheel with an arty shell and the whole thing collapses in on itself.
Be warned it can get pretty damn hard
Must've been hell to actually turn it. Not much use in urban areas.
This has promise. Keep it up!
there we go
Those crazy dutch!
Yeah i don't really like this design. It's just not... right
See, it's the oil companies that kill off these kinds of innovative inventions.
ahhh type 59s...
Frankly i think i just think it looks too much like the apache. It even has the same calibre main armament! Though that's not to say it's not effective, but personally prefer the design of the ka-50.
Gotta admit, the cannon doesn't look very intimidating.
obvious shop is obvious.
I'll be honest, this needs alot of work, but it's a good start.
not easy if it's firing on you from 4kms away D:
They made the turret too big compared to the hull
I wish :P
Another BTR series copy imo
Or not? Wiki says it's based on the LAV.
It looks more look a btr from the front
holy ****, looking good
I just talked to herc about you. I have a new found respect.
This is awesome.
That's nothing but your opinion. Other people will say otherwise.
Either way i agree with the hl2 campaign being buggered. Synergy used to be so much more, now it's just hl2 co-op with a couple of custom maps.
Thought it was phillip :P
Zombie mod, though i don't recall shermans being in it
Gah! I'm sick of this being confused with the regular tiger >.>
Read My tank is fight before you make any statements like that. I was talking to master btw.
Damned good article
Good to see people are aware of the A7V
Fun fact: The Germans were developing their own nuclear weapons without the help of einstein
Why would you think it's dead, it only appeared a couple of days ago :S
Say if a grenade went off, you'd have better protection from the shrapnel with that than the pickelhaube
It's about time :D
Don't know why, but that combine cracks me up
Well, in a way it looks like it
Alright, it doesn't look bad.
I don't remember any swat teams in black mesa
Wait, how do you mount stuff on it?
There's a fix somewhere on the forums isn't there?
Great tank destroyers :D. Though from what i've heard, the Elefant was terrible in combat.
Wait, so does the train move or is it static?
Keep up the good work
Ok im bringing this mod back I have to host on hl2files until i can get a site.
yay! its here
go tim jim go!
please dont let this mod die
reply to my pm
hes banning to many mods
hi try to keep synergy alive
tell that to ~x~
yay first comment and nice mod
i wanted this :(
That tank gameplay looks amazing. I might well buy this.
True, but the LTraktor is definitely linked to the LK.
basically the predecessor
it was just the fact that you said 'gun'. An AT gun is like, a pak 40 or zis-3.
well yeah... That's why they went out of use 60 years ago. :P
I've never seen the photos of them
Is the panzer II being in the game based on 'Panzer-Kompanie Kreta' having them?
Downfall & Panzer Marsch (I'm assuming) are Ostheer.
Pleased to hear downfall is ostheer actually, interesting perspective to show that scenario from.
Nice to see the Hungarians. Even the Italians & Czechs get featured in some mods and games. The Hungarians are a rarity.
Ok so they'd call a temporary truce to tell me how to play Command and Conquer. Sweet.
I love combat mission
I remember loving this movie just because of the awesome T-55 shots.
The Combine aren't from Xen. The invasion from Xen just attracted their attention to earth.
Keep on rolling man! These new models look great!
WHAT JOKE? THERE IS CLEARLY NO TANK, JUST BUSH.
Much like the early KV-1s and T-34s, tank on tank encounters with these were a scary experience for the Germans.
It's so difficult to find any information on German naval infantry, thanks for posting this Sturm! I was beginning to doubt their actual existence.
The Maus is a piece of shite anyway.
After reading this the vehicle seems to have had quite the history.
I don't think I will ever leave this group.
The variant of Crusader DID see action on the western front and so did the short barrel Panzer IV in limited numbers. The Ferdinand however, is not even in this mod.
He is correct about the 88 first being used against armour in France. Not sure about the HE thing but I'm pretty sure they were equipped with AP ammunition.
"When the Tetrarch was re-designated as an airborne tank, several changes were made to its design. A number of tanks had their 2 pounder guns replaced with a 76.2-millimetre (3.00 in) infantry support howitzer; these tanks were then designated as Tetrarch 1 CS (Close Support). Additionally, Littlejohn adaptors were added to those Tetrarchs which still possessed their 2 pounders to increase their muzzle velocity and armour penetration."
Cited from the wikipedia page which has the reference there if you'd like to investigate.
And saying Normandy was my mistake. What I meant was, the developers at one stage said they'd only add it if it saw service on the western front.
The regular Crusader tanks didn't see service in Normandy. They were replaced by the Cromwell & Sherman.
Nice to see an asian artist that doesn't draw anime girls all over his tanks. x_x
How are these two even the same game?
I think he just uploaded a bunch of thumbnails...
Fantastic work for a pen drawing!
I can see this causing friendly fire incidents on both sides if there's ever and American-Iranian war.
Yeah as integral said, most Germans tanks had them.
Looks a little bigger in the other photo, but yeah, these are only mk Vs.
Pretty sure the only things left of it are the tracks and road wheels. :P
Yeah it's clearly based on a different chassis, but they made it into a panzer III mock up and i'm not sure exactly what it's based on.
How the hell do you get in?
Yeah, i think APFSDS rounds have made it so any tank can destroy any tank. One if the reasons i'm less interested in modern tanks.
ugh, i see world of tanks too much in this group X_x
Actually it's not the arabian version. It's just a normal t-55.
Note the warsaw pact colour scheme.
Looks alot nicer without the shields.
It works for the panther but it looks ugly on everything else imo.
The badassness of the beards alone would wipe the enemy clean from the battlefield.
Reminds me of those planned versions of king tiger with a 105mm.
It's not STRICTLY a WWII game, but it's obviously built around it. They're pretty much just including any tank that was designed in the 40s.
Their helmets always look far too big for them.
Battleships have been phased out.
Old repost, but if he hasn't seen it here before i guess it's ok.
I remember reading a quote a while back (Probably made up) In which stalin said 'It will drive straight to berlin".
Though i've really not seen enough evidence to be convinced it existed.
Haha, Ivan the spacebiker! Nice!
I saw a B-17 a few years ago at the imperial war museum in duxford a few years ago. I don't think it was the same one though.
haha, i was just thinking how cool it would be to have kamikazes in men of war today.
I mean the translation 'young bitches'. That doesn't sound right at all. :p
pffhahaha, i didn't think that first translation sounded right.
Could be useful for going under the radar when you know there's AA missiles in the area and you keep your distance, but not so for a situation like this.
Took moddb a bloody long time to approve it.
I thought this didn't see service in vietnam?
You'd just be better off with a stug i think. :P
Looks good, nice work Smith.
What's up with the barrel of that pantherturm?
WON menu > All
And? I'm not blaming anything on the red army.
But what's the point of liberation if those people are just going to be placed back under oppressive rule? Almost makes it pointless...
Yugoslavia... Yeah, i guess that was liberated in a good way. But so many other countries were 'forced' to live under communist rule.
I'd say yugoslavia is one of few, if not the only country where communism actually worked as it should have.
Liberation effectively means liberating someone from someone elses views. But that also means they succumb to whoever's that liberated them.
I'm not saying it's not possible, but rather that it would be difficult to get close to a tank with a functioning turret/remote MG. Your post sort of implied that they torched it AFTER it was imobilised.
I dunno, the games might be alright, but the fan base really annoys me.
I highly doubt thermite was used to finish it off, Americans tend to destroy any of inoperable tanks themselves to prevent capture. Why bother torching it with thermite when you can capture it?
It would be extremely difficult to close close to it then ignite the thermite with the crew still inside..
I know, but a few months back you said you weren't aware that they used them. just making it clear. :P
Pity it was only a concept, this would have been awesome to see.
no, i didn't mean that it wasn't in the mod. :P
It's just something i was pointing out to Phenixtri. Though i could've picked a better place to discuss it i guess.
The mod looks awesome btw.
Though you need to remember the Germans fielded the panzer III & IV. This is something you keep overlooking.
I can get more like these up if anyone wants them.
This doesn't even make sense.
looks out of proportion. Maybe it's just the angle.
Awesome, but a strange vehicle to choose :P
Keep up the good pr work
Out of curiousity, are you actually living in Poland? Obviously you're from there, but your profile says united states.
Is this the EF model?
Of course, it wouldn't have saved poland. The Germans would have had more time to assemble a greater force.
On a side not it looks like a combination of the BT-7 and the 38t.
Because i'm 100% sure they'd actually be accepted there. If you post them where people don't want them all you're going to get is hate.
Exactly, post them somewhere else if nobody wants them.
No, the mature thing would be to stop posting them all together. If nobody wants it, don't post it.
This is from the balkan wars during the 1990s, unrelated to chechnya.
The more likely reason behind this is that the plane was going down and since there was nothing else he could do to save himself, he took the oppurtunity to crash into the truck to inflict soviet casualities.
Any superweapons for the axis?
can i answer it now? :P
ding ding ding
should do more of these guess the tank things
It seems to be a centurion. So my guess is british, israeli's or south africans.
My only problem is that i have to play on the japanese server due to lack of oceanic players/servers. My ping is still better than the european ones though.
Sorry, i'm just really sick and tired of people using that word on everything.
I dunno, they look similar but whether they're the same is questionable.
edit: Actually i think you may be right there.
Ausf. N :D
haha, i just noticed he's got a sack of panzerfausts and a wrapped up mg42 next to him.
damnit, thought it was ostheer for a minute.
Not to mention the dog :S
not to mention the leopard 2 is also (getting) pretty old, yet one of the best tanks in the world.
Interesting, can't remember where i my information from. But it is apparently incorrect.
I think the myth that the polish cavalry attacked German tanks with lances proved to be false. Just another propaganda thing by the nazis.
This implies soviet intervention? :o
Yeah this was a remake. Only it was about a thousand times better than the original.
What is it with you Russians and trying to make tanks fly?
PC elitism FTW
I like the urban style of donner so size isn't really a problem. But you're right it's interesting to see a change of map size and environment, as practically all the dod maps are the same size and they all take place in small towns.
Jeez, it looks like it got a haircut
What is it with Germans and big cats?
Either way they make damn good armoured vehicles.
yeah i'll agree with that lol
Great work dude!
hmm, that's odd
Perhaps they made modifications to it?
That's the irony of it.
Get this out of tank lovers. It's not any kind of armoured vehicle.
*sigh* i'm sick of people assuming it's possible to mod the frostbite engine.
you're right, it was italian
"for now", eh?
better than being an infantry man in the trenches
Run frank, Run!
Sexy... ummm... Hallway
It'd be hard for tank drivers to tell if there was a gap there or not, due to their limited view
Nah, i'm not trying to be an ***. It's just that mix of colours and stitches make it look abit weird. I think i used the wrong terms when i said it looked like it was out of a childrens book. Overall though it looks good.
It doesn't really look sadistic or horrifying. Looks more like something out of a children s book.
SPR is overrated. And wasn't this posted like, 2 months ago?
That's russian internal security, not SWAT
Nice style :D
LOL, the turret's too big
Looks good, it's been awhile since i've played an op4 mod
:o. Nice, will you have civilians around?
This makes me wish i had the game D:
Which is 188 metric tonnes
Interesting. Is there any relation to the half-life story? or is it just its own thing? Either way i'm tracking it.
Makes sense, i guess.
It's just that they kind of look like the black ops. So, it's sort of like black ops v. Slightly different black ops.
I'd still prefer the grunts.
Oh. Well good luck :D
I think they also had something called the BT42 later in the war
Will the Finnish get any AFVs?
Looks.... interesting, i'll watch it :)
Can't wait :D
This really shows what you can do in the build engine, it may be old but it's good. :D
The demo was fun
Moddb can unARCHIVE it now.
Very well done
any updates on cd?
Very nice review.
pancakes is gay!
on planetphillip the website
its getting old.
o ok sorry bout that
what mod is that pic from?
please leave feed back
