Good luck with your mod dude, If you have any questions about AvP 2 half life hammer edit or wally. I design on AvP Classic my self, it supports directx 9 and supports high rez textures and high poly count models. Plus Avp Classic has people playing it online(AvP 2 apprently had people playing it at the begining of the year but Game Spy apperently has a problem with config files right now and they are trying to fix it).

P.S. I like your Idea for a space marines game, But you should really consider building on the AVP 2 engine (at least that way you will be following the end user liscense agreement and you wont get sued). Any way I designed on Avp 2 my self it is an excellent game engine, The easiest game I have ever designed on besides Doom 3. Also you will be respected more if you dont steal content(i.e. new space marine, and the space marine concept art on your images section).
Just some friendly advise. If your not carefull you are going to get "Foxed" yes thats right thats what its called, when Fox corperation comes to your house and takes your computer and every thing related to it, and then Fox sues you for violating thier exclusive rights to the Alien, Predator and space marine characters, not to mention thier story line and game content, and Fox corperation will do it they originated becuase a kid built a Aliens mod for Quake 1 engine(by the way I saw one of your screens "the new space marine" was stolen from madmax rw's mod Avp Redux) not too cool dude.

Thanks alot, I will definatly do that, im going to build one more module and add more pipes and machines and stuff, then im going to start doing the real texture and lighting. I,m concerned about running out of available polygons to finnish my level. I wondering If I will have to break my levels down into smaller maps to accomedate the architexture. I,m really considering doing the hive in real 3 demensions, esspecialy since its actually easier than creating the illusion with textures ( I want to buy a drawing pad for pc there is one called bamboo I think I will get).

A unfinished height map of the nest area embossed to give an idea of how the lighting may look. It has no color to it, just embossed to give it shadows.
The texture on the door its self is a bit misplaced, this texture will be replaced any way.
This is the exact same shot as the movie aliens when the marines exit the apc, just before going inside the alien nest.

any play avp2 on game spy, im trying to get the config files for it so i can play survivor mode online(the only thing i liked about the game, I personally think it was idoitic of fox to have an idea to take scarey creatures and model them to like comic book style, making them not scary any more cause its like a cartoon, stopid) any way i love survivor mode, i wish fox would give up source code for avp1, so we could just use that

I thought this mod was awesome, you guys did really well on making this mod like the old hexen. you got all the items(didn't see the porkulator in there though), the monsters look really good i think the two headed monster needs some more color on the skin but the shape is really good especially with all the different weapons, it really makes em entertaining. i liked the attention to detail, the tress where like old hexen (lol im calling it old hexen now). the leaves falling where tight. the impaling spikes coming out of the ground where awesome too.Even the mushrooms with poison clouds where cool. The traps where hexen style, very cool. but what was most impressive was that you made a new quest with a couple new monsters and you still made it feel like old hexen. The level design really made me feel like some parts where even taken from the old game, it was like you guys remade some old hexen levels until you couldn't tell what levels they even used to be like anymore and yet it still seemed like you where playing an official hexen level. The way the levels where set up was like the old style of back and forth confusion that was the old hexen we remember. thanks for making this game greater than it was before.
